I'm very pleased with my purchase: a counter-top level, solid-wood table with four chairs. The customer service was excellent too. After purchasing the table, they had it disassembled, wrapped within 10 minutes, and carefully loaded into my Jeep.
I will definitely consider Ace Furniture an option in the future.
Ace Furniture one block north of Irving Park has very nice and affordable furniture. From basic stands, dinette sets and desks to leather couches and mattresses, this place has it (big or small) If they don't, they can order what you want. This place assembles and does same day delivery too. They even have a layaway plan.
I've lived in the neighborhood for over 20 years and this place has been there ever since. Same owners, too. The Nam's.
The furniture might not be spaciously spread out in nicely decorated room settings but if you use the creative side in yourself, the furniture here will look nice in your own home. Very affordable with high end looks!
I highly recommend this place since I've been a customer for over 20 years!
Five stars for the integrity of the owners, a man named "Nam" and his wife. They stand behind their merchandise.
I had a problem with a cool-looking but very bargain price sleeper couch I bought from them eight months ago. I use it in my living room as the main couch, so I was pretty bummed when it broke. It's on a platform, and out of nowhere, one of the legs just popped off. The frame had cracked. I thought, at first, well...maybe I got what I paid for, and then I thought: nope; still, this should not have happened so soon.
I called the store and asked to speak to the owner. He listened to my explanation of the problem, and then asked me what exactly I wanted him to do about it. I told him I live in the neighborhood, and that I would appreciate if he would come to my apartment and look at the problem I was describing. I told him I thought he should see this, because it's just not right for one to have to replace a couch in eight months. He asked me if I expected him to refund my money or exchange the couch for one that was not broken. I told him I simply wanted him to come survey the damage, and then we could discuss it. He agreed, and said he would come to my place shortly after at 7 pm that day, as soon as he closed his store.
At 7:10 pm, my cell phone rang, and it was Nam. He was in my lobby. He and his wife had come together. They looked at the couch, and then he offered to come back the next day - today - to fix it himself.
He called me at around 1:00 p.m. today and asked me where I was. I asked him why he wanted to know. He very practically reminded me of how bad the parking is in my hood, and asked if I wouldn't mind picking him up. So, of course, I picked him up (I have private parking).
Nam spent approximately 90 minutes fixing the couch. He cleaned up after himself and then tried to refuse the ride back to the store that I offered him. Finally, he accepted the ride.
The selection of merchandise in this store is above average but nothing remarkable. The basic drill here is function. There is a ton of functional stuff here. It's a sleeper of a store if you want basic furniture. No need to go to Ikea, and the delivery is fast, inexpensive and they will assemble what they deliver if it needs assembly. Some reviewers of this place thought it's overpriced; it sure wasn't for me. If you don't mind the overall practicality of the merchandise, and you live on the north side, this place is worth checking out.
And, you can know you're dealing with people who have integrity.
After the living hell that is Ikea this place is a breath of fresh air, basically because it's always empty.
Good selection of modern furniture if a little pricey, but you pay for the convenience of being able to wheel your purchases home.
Owner dude totally racially profiled me. I feel violated!
OK furniture for OK prices. Everything was OK, and that's it. Nothing phenomenal, nothing horrible--just OK. I bought an OK computer desk for under $200, and while I'm happy with my purchase, I didn't run home and call my mom about it. Also, they seemed somewhat perplexed by their own credit card machine. Perhaps it was new--benefit of the doubt--but I thought it was strange that they acted as though they'd rarely ever ran a credit card before....
The prices are pretty low here. It's the kind of store where everything is on sale. The quality seems ok for some items. There are some solid wood pieces, but some of it is that particle board stuff like what they sell at Walmart. It ain't my favorite.
This place is way way way overpriced. That's all.
