I love mexican food and this place hits the spot. I grew up in the western united states where good mexican joints were a dime a dozen. Here in Mass; however, it is really hard to find a good mexican place. Acapulcos is exactly what I miss. Their food is cheap (really cheap at lunch) and very filling.
Their homemade salsa is perfect, and it goes wonderfully with the homemade chips.
The food here is pretty good depending on what you get. I have had great meals and mediocre meals here. Stay away from the seafood and stick with standards like burritos and enchiladas and you will be just fine.
They make a might good margarita.
Start with a truly fantastico El Presidente margarita and anything will taste great, but the food here is genuinely good Tex Mex. We love the chicken and steak fajitas...tasty meat and delicious grilled vegetables with a full plate of fluffy rice, beans, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream etc. One order is more than enough for two people. The chips are fresh, as is the salsa, and the margaritas are potent and full of fresh lime juice and tequila. The wait staff is friendly and service is very fast. We go here quite a lot and recommend it.

I love Acapulco's. Another reviewer prefers Sierra's, but everytime we go there, the rice is so old and overcooked it resembles bb's, the service is mediocre, and the chips are stale.
If you go to Acapulco's, you get greeted warmly, served warm, fresh tortilla chips and homemade salsa, and they have a great selection of different types of Mexican Cuisine. The Pollo Con Crema is excellent, as is the Tacos Al Pastor.
They have an extensive list of Mexican Beer (try the Negro Modelo), and a full service bar. I like the fact that the Mexican Food is more like the food I ate in Mexico, and less Americanized. That's of course, if you look beyond the burritos, and standard fare.
There's lots of families there; and the ambiance, though not fancy, is warm and friendly. The staff is terrific! You'll get your chips and salsa in a heartbeat, your drinks ordered, and your meal ordered and delivered quickly. The waiters are friendly, attentive, and polite.
We always have a good meal, and a great time when we eat there.

Yes, this is Americanized Mexican, but that doesn't mean it isn't good!
This restaurant has a great selection of Mexicanized foods, and even has a nicely discounted lunch menu. The portions are huge, and the service has always been great. Even with take-out you still receive the chips and salsa that they give you when you dine in.
My burrito today was a whopping $7 and I seriously think I have enough left for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow. Yes, it is that big of a burrito, I am not even exaggerating. Yum.

We went here for Father's Day last week. My parents LOVE it. It's really good tex-mex food... the waiters there are really nice and we got the halibut (sooo good!!!), chicken mole (yummm!!) & I got the flank steak (also yumm!!!) and their soppipillas and flan are AMAZING!!!
Next time I'm gonna try their enchiladas.. I'm a big fan but am always disappointed at the ones I get in the North East (since I grew up in the South West like 20 min away from the Mexican border haha)
Good salsa!!!

Don't do it.
It's family style, barely Mexican food.
Lots of parents bring their kids here because of the big portions but...
-The refried beans were inedible.
-Little to no lettuce on my Tacos
-Margaritas expensive and weak.
Go to Sierra's instead.
This is one of the best Mexican places in the Boston area. If you're looking for good mexican and tex-mex food, this is the place. You start with fresh, warm tortilla chips and salsa while you look over the menu. There are a few non-mexican choices for people who don't want to eat mexican. Their dishes are tastefully done and are americanized, but still retain some authentic flavour.
I love their chicken mole enchiladas and just about everything else on the menu. If you're looking for something spicy, be sure to ask them to turn it up for you as most of the dishes aren't spicy at all.
This Acapulcos is not related to (and is much superior to) the Acapulcos in Watertown. However, it is owned by the same people as those who own Ixtapa Mexican Cantina in Arlington (also a really tasty place).

Acapulco's is my favorite choice for Mexican food in the burbs. If you like margaritas, try the "Ultimate" with Patron tequila - fantastic! I love tortilla soup and finally tried theirs during my latest visit. It's a nice variation - grilled chicken and avocado chunks make theirs stand apart from the rest. You can sit in the restaurant or there are some tables in the bar area as well where they have a couple of TVs.
Between the free chips and salsa and the fairly large portions, you certainly will never leave hungry!

El Mediocrity.
Plentiful, heavy dishes of Americanized Mexican food. Lots of cheese and jalapenos and salsa and sour cream and...recognize the food? Yeah, it's essentially every c-level Mex joint across the planet.
Do I like it? After a couple of (expensive) frozen tequilla drinks, I'd probably eat Taco Bell and smile, but yeah, it's not bad.
It's just that I know they don't eat this in Mexico, or LA, to be honest. We really could use a great authentic MexJoint in this area.
Acapulcos is pretty tasty. They have good drinks and good chips and salsa. It's a pretty typical mexican restaurant. It's a good place to go get a drink with co-workers after a tough day of work. Nice atmosphere and nice staff.

I guess I'm not a fan of this place. My husband & I have been there a couple of times & we did not like the food at all. The chips n salsa are good but other than that the food was boring. The tacos were tasteless & the checken was dry & looked stale forget eating it. I really wish we liked it coz I love love love Mexican food.
I love border caf in Cambridge and am still looking for a place like that 4 yrs later in the burbs.

We have had many going away lunches here for students returning to school. I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered, and I have not had a single complaint from anyone that I have gone with.
I think we have covered most of the menu with the standouts being the steak burrito.
The price is very reasonable considering the chips and salsa and the good size portions. It is definitly someplace to try if you are in the area.
