Hayward, CA
Sometimes I like to escape from my mother-instituted prison and travel to the heart of the Hayward ghetto to risk life and limb for some super nachos. They are very yummy, but as mother would say, don't expect Jenny Craig to be very happy with you when you've used up all your points and then some on this delish dish. It's sinfully yummy.
While I'm at it, I might as well wash it down with a pure sugar Mexican Coke, and see my bloated derrière to the bathroom soon after. Mmmm MMM! -

I love the food here! But I'm pretty pissed off that this is the second time I came here 30 min before they closed and the horchata is put away... Tisk tisk. One more time and I'm going to Los Pericos next time..

$1 tacos on Tuesdays + Open late on the weekends
This is the perfect combination for the Mexicans at heart. -

Ok soooo I have a love/hate relationship with this place.
Pros: Very good food. The prices are reasonable for the serving size and for the quality of the food. The customer service is pretty decent. The girls that work there are very friendly and fairly efficient.
Cons: The service fluctuates. They have an outside window where you can order without going inside which is a great idea in theory. But in reality, it causes more confusion with the food than is necessary. Expect for someone else to take your food if you dont wait really close to the window when your food is called. They also act like its a huge inconvenience when you ask for a side to be changed from a salad to an order of beans.
Overall, it's a decent place to stop by and eat. But Im not going to be coming back. I've had enough with the inconsistent service to make me stay away. -

We are the loiterers you see on a Tuesday night.
Chillin' by the car, with what may or may not look like delicious beverages.
Munching down $1 tacos.
But honestly, the taste of them are alright, but you can sure round up a group of friends for cheap food! -

Felt like some taco's so drove down hayward A street where it's littered with taquerias. Went into this one based on Yelp. A lot of people were at the take out window and that line never stops, so seems like this is a popular place for take outs.
The inside was very bright and clean. The menu was not overly complicated but did look a bit americanized. I went with the taco california and fish taco. The beef for the taco california was a bit salty and every lime seems dry. The fish taco was very good as the fried fish was not burnt. The taco had so much topping I had to move a couple piece of the fish off to roll the taco up.
As I was waiting, I saw an item call baby burrito. Usually I do get a burrito but with two taco's, a whole burrito would be too much food for me. So a baby burrito was the perfect addition.
The food is ready quite promptly. Both of their sauce are not spicy at all. One weird thing is you can't order just regular ice water.
There's ample space in the parking lot even with customers coming and going at a constant rate. -

Taco Tuesdays = $1.00 Tacos!
This a great spot to fulfill your taco craving. They have a walk up exterior window where you wont even have to go into the store! The food is good and the prices are great! Highly recommend coming on Tuesdays where tacos are a buck each! -

I love this place. I come here late night last minute and pull up to the window and order. BAM hunger pains stopped : ). I always only order the super burrito with Carne Asada. I love it because the beef is never dry and it never gets in my teeth which I hate. I also like that the prices aren't too bad either. I am scared to venture out and order anything else but so far so good on the burrito's. San Franciso has the best Mexican food but this place does the job until I get to work the next day! I also like how quickly the food is prepared without sacraficing the taste!

Taco's are SOLID! Takeout window open till 3am Fri & Sat... wha?! No more late night eats at a Taco Bell when you can get real Mexican goodness.
Staff is friendly and the service is quick. Feel free to ask for all the condiments you need: no charge. -

Hayward, CA
The food is okay. I gave it 4 stars because it's open pretty late and food is pretty cheap. It's not the best taqueria in Hayward but it sure beats taco bell.
I always get a carne asada burrito and the tacos with an Horchata. Horchata sometimes is too sweet, other-times it's too watered down. I eat here mainly because it's close to where I live. But when I really want to eat the best tacos in town, I have to drive across town. -

San Lorenzo, CA
I agree with miss m. the cabeza is the bomb (I like the tacos) and they fill them up. They also have really good breakfast burritos if you want to eat a power breakfast.
Location is kind of in a shady area on A St. (but from what I've seen most of Hayward is shady). They have seating outside too. Service is pretty quick and I like how they include hot carrots, jalapeno peppers & radishes with your meal.
There's a really pretty half Mexican girl with light eyes I saw working there one weekend. I haven't seen her since, I knew I should've gotten her number. -

This place used to be good, WHEN IT WAS JUST A TRUCK! LOL, And it's not just me, my BF thinks so too, The service is bad, and boring, and every time I get a taco, or burrito, i always have Grissel/Fat/Cartilage in my Carne Asada) Taco bell is better..LMAO! I hate to Dis but something happened when it's head got big, after people liked it so much again (When it was a truck)
ps the tacos are cold, and they gave me either a already squeezed Lemon, or a bitten lemon, i swear this has happened 4!! times!!
I'm thru with them! -

I've been a customer here since i was about 15 when it was still a truck. I think it tasted way better back then. You think moving from a truck to a restaurant would be an improvement. But for some reason I liked it way better before.
I came here last night and got super nachos with buche. We leave here and head home. As soon as all 4of us are pulling our nachos out the power goes out. So we search around the house for candles and move from the front of the TV to the kitchen table.SO I had a candlelit dinner with my bf and his 2 roomies. With nachos!! ha ha I thought it was cool to add this my review. The meat was good, but I think it could be seasoned more. I will probably never order nachos again when I come here = ( i like shredded cheese. If I wanted canned nacho cheese I'll head to taco bell -

Tacos are not really that good. Burritos are one of the worst that I have ever had. If you eat inside it the tables are dirty most of the time. When this place was only a taco truck it was one of the top tacos I had. But now the quality has really gone down.
I would suggest not to eat here unless this is your last late night option. -
Review from Mary T.
Affordable and open late...what more is there to say! Let's just say it beats going to Taco Bell late at night, when you can get some real Mexican food!
Their carne asada tacos are legit and tasty! Yum-O! Try them and you won't be disappointed.
I normally get the simple burrito to go with the tacos as well, I can't complain! -
Review from Justin C.
This place is exactly what I was looking for. Great tacos, great burritos, friendly staff, and a pretty accessible location. Located right off the freeway, this taqueria boast fresh ingredients, large portions, and even dollar tacos on Tuesdays.
If you often frequent the A Street freeway entrance/exit in Hayward and love a substantial burrito, then give this place a try. I've never been disappointed. -

Hayward, CA
One star for the fish tacos. One for being conveniently located near 880 and being open late.
Other than that, it's not really that great. The typical menu items are average. The taste is alright. The size is decent. The pricing seems a little expensive. And the tortilla chips suck and aren't worth the price. Plus, they don't really have salas either.
Overall, it's okay if you're in the mood for some tacos. And sadly there aren't many good mexican food joints in the area. -

The tacos I ordered today were very ordinary and a bit dry. I also had a torta which was very ordinary and bland. I wouldn't go hear again! They have La Pinata just a few minutes away which is waaay better. Or El Amigo which I really like

First time to this spot I ordered 20 tacos (steak) and 5 Burritos and a super nacho. Everything was priced pretty cheap and the portions were very plentyfull. But only one thing was wrong, there was no taste with any of the food. Everyone was buzzing and they sent me and a couple buddys to get food. And this place was the only close spot to us. I seen alot of people inside so I thought lets try it out. I remember when this place was a taco truck on the other side of A street, the food was pretty good. I guess after they made all that money they just dont care how it taste any more. I would go here again just to get full but not for taste.

Hayward, CA
One of my first Taqueria joints that I ever ate at in Hayward, and was a staple diet until I found others.
Their "super" carne asada burritos are a bit smaller than other places, but cheaper coming in at $5 I believe. Their steak is a little bland and their salsa is even worse. Their Carne Asada Fries are a 4.99 and uses nacho cheese which makes it a little mushy.
Pros:
Open Late (12am-3am on Fri/Sat)
Cheap
Cons:
Mediocre steak/salsa -

Muy Bien!!
This place has great tasting burritos and tacos. Prices are favorable to even the most frugal cats. The self serve condiments are a HUGE plus for me, as I love Jalapenos and the radishes. -

If you want a buritto near Union City(even though it's in Hayward) come here...
First time I went here was probably with a good friend of mine named Chris Cara. He just kidnapped me and my other friend Marvin. Off we go going all the way to Hayward just for food. First thing is that they accept orders outside too.
It's not Taco Bell, thats all I gotta say. Very authentic Mexican food. I got the Super Carne Asada Buritto. Thing was huge! One of the best places for mexican food I've been to.
It does make it worthwhile to just kidnap some friends and eat here. -

I remember getting a burrito from their truck about 10 years ago and being disappointed about it. I couldn't figure out what the hype was all about...
They've since parlayed that truck into two restaurants. The food is good and the prices are fair...
The window service is a nice option after midnight on weekends... -
Review from Cristian C.
San Leandro, CA
A few years ago, I would've rated this place much higher for their regular tacos., but it's been a few years and this place just isn't all that great anymore.
I ordered a "super" burrito minus the rice, with grilled chicken. Usually that means there'd be a nice balance of meat, beans, cheeses and pico de gallo. Instead I got a burrito with an unusual amount of beans, chicken and almost nothing else. The only thing "super" about this would've been the deuce I'd have to drop later that day.
I had to stop myself not even 1/3 of the way down. It just didn't blow me away. -

There is an inside and outside service which is weird. The burritos are ok but not the greatest. The service people are easy to confuse and cannot get a special order right. Missing the Mission but decent when over on this side.

EDIT 4/15/2007: I'm docking a star from this location for service and sliding it on over to the new location. Please see that review here: http://www.yelp.com/bi...
We now return to our previously scheduled yelp.
It doesn't get any better than a Quesadilla Suiza con Lengua, unless it's maybe a queso from El Farolito in SF, or at least a queso without an attitude problem. I'll give TA credit for stewing the lengua the proper way instead of trying to grill it, but I'm knocking a point off for the incredibly rude staff. Yes, the "gringa" with a tan wants lengua. Yes, the "gringa" with a tan understands that "lengua" is TONGUE. Yes, the "gringa" with a tan undertands what "puta gorda" means.
I'd knock two points off, but they just put a truck 2 blocks from my house and now I don't have to deal with the surly muchacha up on A Street.
Yay, lengua!Listed in: Local Grub

I do not understand the appeal with this place anymore. It seems I can't find a decent, knockout Mexican food place in this city. When Alcapulco was just a truck in a parking lot, I stood in the rain. Today, it has a few restaurants, including this one.
The tacos are bland, with the exception of the fish taco. Their burritos are simple meat, beans, rice. They also don't have a decent salsa. A simple red chile salsa that is oily and I use on everything to add flavor. The nachos are also only sour cream, beans, meat and avocado for extra.
Soooo dullll. -
Review from Thuyvi F.
Came here last night and got a carne asada burrito. I must say it was very delicious. The meat was mildly season and everything in the burrito was evenly portioned so every bite was good. The price was very good and the service was fast once the order was placed. I am taking off a star for the workers taking forever to take our order. The saw us standing there but never acknowledge to take our order until I had to ask them.

Been coming here since it was a taco truck on the corner of A and Royal. I usually go with an al pastor super burrito or a chicken quesadilla.

I love Tacos Acapulco! Its delicious! I've been eating here since they were just a taco truck on A st when a burrito was only $2.50, now a burrito is $5 but still worth every penny. I recommend ordering a burrito with no sauce and just asking for extra sauce on the side to pour the sauce on yourself. The Fish Tacos are also a must!, Delicious! Man, theres so much good food here. High Quality Mexican food! They recently opened up an actual sit down restaurant on Hesperian, but I have yet to go.
Update: This is place is HORRIBLE with Costumer Service. They messed up the order... and they would not fix it! Welp, I'm done with this crappy ass joint! Don't go here, Everything I said above is now thrown right down the drain because of the horrible costumer service these idiots provide! -
Review from Albie F.
Cheap/delicious tacos, many different kinds of meat (pollo asada, carne asada, lengua, pollo cocido, and carnitas to name a few) with cilantro or guac, and a local Hayward establishment. What more can you ask for?
My favorite quick Mexican food in the Haystack!!! -

Second bad meal in as many days.My ass hasn't been treated this roughly since my first confession. I ordered the breakfast burrito and found it bland and kinda dry and crumbly. (weird)The one saving grace was the flan i ordered.Total custard boner.I'm done with this place.Go to Mi Pueblo up the street, it's cheaper and much tastier.

This place is very average. Your typical Mexican Taqueria Joint.
I remember when they use to be a taco truck across the street from the 76 gas station on the other side of A Street. This was when the taste was good. Nowadays, its like they ran out of flavors.
I rather eat Chinese combination Fried Rice wrapped in a corn tortilla with some siracha sauce instead of their salsa. And a Yeo's Soybean drink instead of their Horchata rice drink.
But I give it to them on their employees though, Chicas got some tig o bitties.
So you ask Cuantos Stars?
I say Tres Stars. out of Cinco.
Service: Chicas Muy bueno
Parking: nice size lot

San Francisco, CA
My cousin has been talking about this place for the last sixteen years. In 1993, a taco truck surfaced near their house and due to popular demand, they created "Acapulco," the taqueria and restaurant.
I tried this place at the perfect time... I was nursing the effects of a great meal from the previous night, which included a couple of bottles of wine.
The carne asada taco and nachos supreme hit the spot.
Food - Good
Service - Good; exactly what you would expect from a taqueria
Ambiance - It was freezing cold when we were there because all of the windows and sliding glass doors were open. We were going to "eat in," but decided to take the food home because it was so cold.
If I decide to try this place when I'm "normal," I'll post an update. Otherwise, this may be my go to spot after an evening out on the town.
