Having grown up in AZ, I'm always on the lookout for great Mexican food.

For years, I was forced to try places like Paradiso (BARF) and Mexican Village (run by Norwegians). Thank goodness Acapulco came along.

Great food, fast service ... did I mention the great food?

    Go. Eat. Enjoy!

    Jimmy's Mexican restaurant scale.

    Warm chips....check
    Salsa.....watery but good flavor
Margaritas.....check but a bit too sweet
Food..... I had the chili Verde.  Good flavor, not great but very good.

Service was attentive and friendly.  They sang in Spanish and English for a birthday girl.  Neat.

Well first they put me in a corner where no one remembered I was. Then I got their attention and ordered the fiesta fajitas. Greasy, beef was overcooked shrimp were too and small.  Margaritas tasted like all mix. It wasn't the worst I have had.

The best, and until recently the only authentic Mexican restaurant in town. Great lunch specials that only cost $5 not including tip.  Service is blazing fast. I once timed it and it took a mere two and a half minutes to get our food. Barely enough time cram a basket of chips down my throat.

If your on a date, I highly recommend the fajitas for two. Because there is nothing like a sizzling skillet of meat and veggies between two love birds.

There is also a large variety of gluten fee options that the staff seem pretty knowledgeable about. Another plus, most of the staff speak English very well. Not a necessity but it is probably a benefit to most customers.

    Hot enchiladas
    Warming hospitality
    Cold margaritas

I pretty much tried this place simply because of the previous yelp reviews... and I must say they are right.  While the ambiance isn't as flashy as other Mexican restaurants, the food here is certainly a couple of steps up in authenticity and flavor compared to the 'other' local mexican options.  *cough* Paradiso *cough cough*

The staff was actually excellent, by my standards.  Our server made sure to check back with us to make sure everything was to our liking, but was not too 'pesty'.  The kitchen was open to substitutions, and our food arrived HOT (as food SHOULD arrive).

The food itself was very tasty, and pleasantly not drenched in grease, unlike many Mexican restaurants I've dined at.  I also particularly liked their salsa... it was more 'liquidy' compared to the usual restaurant variety, and more like what I'd expect to be served at a home-cooked Mexican meal.

My only negative food recommendation is this:  stay away from the chile relleno.  It appeared to be simply egg on the outside (not egg batter... just egg) with some canned, diced chiles inside.  I'm not sure what happened, but it certainly didn't resemble any chile relleno I'VE ever seen...

With that complaint aside, I recommend trying this restaurant out, if you haven't already.  ¡Salud!

I guess it is technically food.  The 2nd worst "Mexican" restaurant in Fargo.

    We call it Acapukeo.

The first time I experienced Acapulco was when I was visiting Fargo, looking for a house (since I was moving there)--anyway-- it was next to our hotel. I ran over to order a "to-go" order and I was sucked in from there. The atmosphere was authentic and pleasant. The workers were very nice. The service was fast. The best part of it all-- THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I recommend this place. PLus they gave me all the tasty extras-- chips & salsa.    FYI: I ordered the burrito covered in queso-- to die for!

I was skeptical about the authenticity of a Mexican restaurant in North Dakota, but I was proven wrong.  I had a delicious spicy beef dish with bell peppers- I think it was the chile colorado.  The tortilla chips were served warm, another plus.

Amy & I ate here in Fargo after wandering around for a while. It was pretty good, or so she tells me. It has mostly left my memory.
