My boyfrand is way too stoked on $1 taco Wednesdays.

We came in around 9 or so, and the place was super spaced out.

I got a fish and a carne asada, and even though it was only two street tacos, they were incredibly filling!

Paired with the full bar and a heavy handed jameson sour, I am a happy little girl.

So apparently this place is now called The Mexican. The food was good. I had the tostadas with rice and beans. They were tasty. They have the yummy Coke from Mexico (so much better than the Coke we drink here!)
The servers were super nice and attentive. They even split up the check for the 5 of us (we appreciated it in with a good tip!)

I will definitely for back here to try some of the other stuff. My friends liked the burritos, the nachos & the shrimp ceviche, so I have a bunch of stuff to try!

This place is really good. My co-workers and I come here all the time. It is a really big place that could hold numerous large parties. They even have a separate big banquet room in the very front which I am guessing you can reserve for events.

Our service has always been great. The servers have always been very nice and our orders have always come out promptly and correct.

My co-workers are a diverse group and everyone always enjoys what they order here. I think that says a lot. I always get the carne asada super burrito (I'm not sure if that's the exact menu name) but it is huge, covered in enchilada sauce, and has a glob of guacamole and sour cream on top. Yum.

Their margaritas are SERIOUS margaritas. They aren't skimpy with the tequila and I love that. I love their margaritas. Someday I will come here after work and drink 5 and then not know how to get home and it will rock. Maybe I will call you for a ride.

Came here a few times with some friends and co-workers for lunch, as well as $1 tacos Wednesdays. This is one of those place that you can go to if you're around the area and just want a few drinks with some mediocre Mexican food.

The tacos definitely weren't "mind blowing" or anywhere near that state but they were decent. I mean what do you expect for $1? If you're expecting orgasmic tasting tacos for $1, then maybe it's best you go somewhere else. I always order their pork tacos without the onions, but maybe next time I will give their other meats a try. I've also tried both their chicken and shrimp enchiladas. They were both just A-OKAY.

I also order their house margaritas with my food and they're pretty good. Oh, they're pretty strong though...You can REALLY taste and smell the alcohol. I'd prefer my drinks to lie to me, if that makes any sense at all. I enjoy strong drinks that doesn't taste strong because the bartender did such a great job masking the alcohol taste. Well, you won't get that here so if you like the taste of strong alcohol, this is the place for you!

The service here is very friendly! It's one of those places were you can go with some friends for some low key hangout with some drinks and food.

Either of the last two businesses which occupied this place would have died to know that they shared something in common with Acapulco. I came here for Wednesday dollar tacos. I read mixed reviews that essentially said that the tacos were ok. So I figured that I'd trow the dice. It was a horrible thought and I would smack myself right now if I didn't think it would cause me to vomit.

I arrived and walked in the door and stood next to a sign that stated that all taco customers must sit in the back room.  As I stood there waiting to be seated I looked around and noticed that there wasn't too much change since the change of ownership and name. Eventually we were greeted and asked  if we were getting tacos or we were ordering off of the menu. We answered and they pointed us toward the back room.

We walked into the side room and there was no menu, no signs of any kind and so we walked to the counter to inquire as to how their system works. The young lady behind the counter informed us of their meat choices and I went with 6 different tacos so as not to miss out on any possible gems. I also tried to order a fountain drink. The young woman gave me my receipt and a number and walked away without asking what kind of drink I wanted. She returned with a Pepsi, which was awkward but I didn't really care.

After several minutes the food came. Caked in cilantro and onion, what little greasy meat lye underneath was cross contaminated and nasty looking. Like a trooper I  headed for the salsa bar and loaded up on jalapenos, carrots, radishes, salsa and napkins, (since there is nothing on the tables). If you want carrots you have to dig to the bottom of the jalapenos. So now it was time to dig in.

Without another plate I had to sort out my items on napkins and figure out what was being eaten in what order. I scrapped off some of the cilantro and onion to see which taco was which and I added salsa and lime to each. The al pastor tacos were bland and had a strange texture. It was hard to tell the difference between the asada and lingua tacos, which is never a good sign. The asada were bland and had a strange texture as well, but they were nothing compared to the lingua. These by far were the worst. The lingua tacos tasted like the pot the boiled them in and had all the added taste and texture of a dirty broken down sponge.

The salsas were watery and yet starchy awful confections and the toppings were of an equally horrid quality. My soda tasted like dirt and although the glass was clean the water obviously wasn't filtered. The flies were abundant and the service was non-existent as soon as the food hit the table. You can get chips if you ask, but they won't offer and the same policy seems to apply to everything in this section of the restaurant.

I can't think of a single reason to be here, even if you are a single lady meeting your girls here to get wasted on happy hour margaritas. It's just not worth it. The food is nasty the service is horrible and I can't see it being any better if I ever become stupid enough to go back. Run! Run away now! Do not be sucked in by the dollar taco sign. These are the worst tacos I've ever had in my life!

Owned by the same people as the location A St, you can expect the same items and then some. They have a much more extensive menu, which includes an assortment of seafood. And there alcohol selection includes the usual (Corona, Tecate etc) beers, but also a list of vodkas and hard liquors that are Latin American imports. They have a bar inside against the far wall. There is also a good amount of seating. It's relatively a nice looking place considering I had gone a few years ago when it had a different owner and it looked much different. Definite upgrade. The food was pretty good. The apetizers were alright. But the beans in some of the items were a little weird looking.

Great location to take a lot of family to enjoy authentic mexican. Fast service too.

I've only been here for different events (Mark Salinas fundraiser, Kids Breakfast Club Casino Night Fundraiser, & most recently Tequilafest 2010). Each event was pretty successful and the owner of the restaurant has been very supportive and friendly. Most recently, my wife and I were invited to attend tequilafest. I believe tickets were around $40 pre-sale. Totally worth it since its pretty much all you can drink *i mean taste* tequila. There were about 12 or so brands present, but each brand had their blanco or silver, reposado, anejo or extra aged anejo...Patron was displaying and offering their tequila based XO cafe. They were half shots, which was perfect for actually "tasting" rather than shooting. All the vendors and models were very professional and friendly...posing for pictures, taking pictures, describing the product, pouring drinks, etc.

After feeling a little tipsy, I decided it was time to get some food in my stomach so I had 4 tacos. 2 carne asada and 2 al pastor. Taco's were average IMO...nothing to go crazy about. I've tried their fish tacos before which were a lot better and tastier than these. After filling up my tummy, my buddy had an open tab at the bar so we had a couple paloma's and called it a night. The bartenders were swamped surprisingly but they moved quick and made the drinks really good! Definitely try their tequilas on the shelf! Tequilafest 2010 - Great event, turn out, crowd, and vendors represented!

One of those places you drive by on the regular but never think to stop and have dinner at.  We finally did! Afterall its accross the street from TARJAY and you're not supposed to go shopping on an empty stomach because it'll make you buy more!

Acapulco is a pretty nice place! More than what I expected, definitely not a taqueria or hole in the wall.  It's a well kept restaurant with a pretty big space.  There was some type of special party going on in the back room the night we came too.

Great service and delicious food.  Fiancée and I split a Carne Asada & Enchilada plate.  It was more than enough to stuff us.  The complimentary chips, salsa and beans were a yummy way to start off the meal.

I'd like to come back for happy hour one night.  After all, it is a bar!  Let's see what the bartender has to offer.

I come here for the $1 tacos and all night happy hour on Wednesdays. It's a deal you really can't beat. The tacos are actually very decent for their price, you can get chicken (grilled or shredded), carnitas, steak & chorizo. They're super basic, so don't come here and get $1 tacos and expect for your mind to be blown; they have cilantro, onions and salsa on them. Did I mention they were $1?

You can order the tacos from the "taco side" of the restaurant or in the regular side where you'll be waited on. I prefer to be waited on and have my margs brought to me then waiting at the bar for em'.
    The margaritas are very yummy.

The staff is really friendly, waiters, bartender, manager. Everyone's super nice.

Bottom line is that this is a cheap, CHEAP dinner and a great happy hour. I come here with friends, stay a few hours and have a blast.

So, I graduated high school in 2004. I was a part of the Puente program, which is designed to help minority students reach their goal of going to college. I spent 2 years with the same English class and we became a pretty tight knit group of kids. Flash forward 4 years later and I determined it was time for a reunion. Myself and another former class mate contact everyone we could get ahold of and decided to meet here.

It is easy to find, inexpensive, great ambiance, open bar, doesn't get busy, and excellent service as well. About 20 of us ended up going here for drinks and dinner. I ordered the appetizer dish and was pleasantly surprised. They also have a great selection of import tequilas and hard liquors.

Needless to say, this was a great atmosphere for a large group, and we also noticed a couple (coincidentally, an ex of someone who was in our party) also enjoying themselves. The reunion was a hit, in large part because this restaurant has an open, easy flowing feel to it and great priced liquors!

All I can say is REALLY!?!?!?  People actually think this is good Mexican food!?!?!?  My Husband and I pass this location fairly often and we always see a fair amount of vehicles in the parking lot.  Then we noticed the sign advertising Happy Hour from 2-6pm M-F...just bait and boy did we fall for that Hook, Line and Sinker!  Our daughter wanted enchilada's so we are leaving Target and decide to shoot across the street for dinner.  The place was pretty packed and as we walk in the door I immediately felt like we stepped into a taqueria attempting to become a full blown restaurant...bright lights and all.

The chips were okay, the salsa was bland and the bowl of refried beans runny.  The waiter was very polite and attentive but...the food a HUGE disappointment.  My 10 year old daughter leans over and says "Mom, this isn't a very good enchilada...look the cheese isn't melted inside" Really you jacked up a cheese enchilada?!?!  I look at my Husband to see how he is enjoying his meal, I get the eye roll and the it's so-so look.  This coming from a man who can eat the same kind of sandwich for lunch for over two years without asking for any variation on the meat or bread!  The verdict is in...this place sucks!

My man and I have came to Acapulco Bar & Grill plenty of times. We always eat at the bar top. Service is sub par and nothing spectacular. The food, however, is on point. Tacos, burritos, and ooohhh man the shrimp appetizer!! WOW. I don't remember what it was called but I order it every time. I hate how expensive it is (13.99ish) but man its so freakin good.

Came in here thinking The Mexican was a new spot. Way wrong. The food was even worse than I remembered. All of the food is very bland. I ordered carnitas and it was like eating beef jerkey. It wasn't just mine, because my buddy got a carnitas burrito that was even dryer. Maybe I'm just used to eating Guadalajara, but this place is horrible. I'll make sure to post this under "The Mexican" also, and their second yelp page under "Taqueria Acapulco".

I took my mother to eat here today for Mother's Day, It was our first time eating here and it took us a min to find it only because the address and name on here are WRONG! The real name and address is:

    The Mexican
    19950 Hesperian Blvd

It was previously called Acapulco but they changed the name so let's get it right! Anyways it has a full bar, I didn't try any drinks but Happy Hour is Mon-Fri 2-6pm so I'm definitely going on my day off! :) The food was really good I had Camarones A La Diabla and if you love spicy food like me you'll love this plate! My mom had Flautas and she really liked them too! The staff is okay I mean they can smile a lil bit more but eh whatever, I think the owner was there he didn't come to our table but he was walking around and talking to few people! The food was made really quick!! I think max 10 minutes of us waiting and then they brought it, I was like daamnn that was quick! Ooh they also give you a bean dip topped with like grated cheese and it was reallyy good as well as the salsa :) and the chips were nice and crunchy not stale like the ones I had last night at some other restaurant. Anywho I really enjoyed this place and it was very cheap, I think for 2 people I only payed about $35. I will definitely be going back to to try out their drinks and to try other things on their menu!

We attempted to have dinner at The Mexican (formerly Acapulco) tonight.  Did not happen!  Upon entering, the noise level in the bar area was ridiculous.  Apparently it was Taco Wednesday.  We just wanted to have a regular dinner and wanted to purchase a gift certificate.  The restaurant has two sides-the bar side on the right and the restaurant on the left.  The bar was crowded and much too noisy to enjoy dinner.  We asked to be seated on the other side, which was nearly empty.  We were told by the young lady at the counter NO...only if we wanted dollar tacos.  No...we wanted a regular meal in a somewhat quiet atmosphere,  That did not happen.  I asked for a gift certificate...I was told to come back tomorrow.  I will not be coming back tomorrow or any other day for that matter.  We ate here once previously...the food was pretty good, but was served barely warm.  The server was friendly...unlike this evening,  Good service is as important as good food...we had neither tonight.

Had dinner in their bar (restaurant section was closed), so it was a little noisy with some drunks laughing very loudly (not restaurant's fault or anything.)  Chicken Mulita (wrap-like food with chicken, veggies, avocado and pineapple, no beans or rice) was good.  Chips weren't that great but I ate them because I was very hungry.  Price was good.

First time I came here to eat from what i remember is back in 06' food was good I think I had the steak which is my all time favorite thing to order in a Mexican restaurant and was good BTW. As for the whole "Noche DE Banda" thing I just went last night for the first time with a friend who invited me, and I decided to invite a friend of mine so i wouldn't feel left out [thank God he came through along with his cousin]  As soon as I walked in it looked like every usual Mexican club and/or event, packed with Paisas, rabos verdes, (meaning old men trying to hook up with some young meat lol) young hoochie little girls, and last but not least a COCK FEST. My friend was hoping to get in for free since ladies are free before 10 but we were about 20 minutes late due to the line (which surprised me) I think the cover charge is to much ($20) for a little place.. As we were in the dance floor pretty small not a lot of seating area only like 6 tables. Since I didn't dance I was pretty much at bar I'm more of a drinker than dancer. Beer was somewhat of a good prize ($6) for Modelo.. As for the cocktails oohhhmygooodddnneesss!! Never get a Strawberry Monitor!!!! I paid $10 for a drink in a small ass cup!! and the damn drink was nasssty!! It was watered down with motherfucking club soda!!  Disgusting! But the rest of the night was cool.. Most likely I'll probably be back again but just for tagging along lol

Shocked when we received our bill for over $50 for 4 drinks and appetizer. The drinks were so weak and "YOU CALL THAT AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD"! What a joke!. Canned beans..really? Should have gone to Chevy's..at least the food is fresh. Don't waste your time or money on this place, a total rip off! but really enjoyed the time with my friend.

I have not eaten there yet, but drive by alll the time. Enough so that I know they are having a Tequila night on August 29th!! I would love to make that (if I can find a DD) I'm a fan if they can have a Tequila night!!
