There aren't very many true community theater places in Atlanta that have been around as long as Academy (55 years). And this is real community theater. Academy reaches out across Atlanta to bring a wide variety of entertainment to its audience. And it's fun. It's simple. It's comfortable. And for folks who are into a real community approach to theater, this is home, and this is family.
They do original drama and other scripted favorites. They do shorts. They do audio drama (in cooperation with Atlanta Radio Theatre Company). They do Steampunk. They do improv. And yes, they experiment from time to time. They have fun. As a long-standing nonprofit entity, Academy very efficiently does a lot with very little. Professionals that you personally know are in the spotlight, bringing a whole lot of heart and talent (and edge) to the stage, just for you.
