Whether you're a blossoming tennis star or a well-seasoned fly fisher, Academy has almost everything you are going to need. Academy's large interior has sections including fitness, hunting, camping, golfing, soccer, Frisbee and a good supply of outdoor clothing to top it off.
This first time I went to Academy was for the grand opening of this store. They had a big tank set up outside with little kids fishing and were selling hotdogs and ice cream for a buck. Since then, we've been back numerous times and have usually had pretty good experiences.
One thing I like about Academy is that the sales people aren't ubiquitous and don't pester. If you have a question, you can usually find someone to ask, but they aren't going to be constantly asking you if you need assistance. You can even spend a good amount of time looking at the treadmills and fitness bikes without having someone come up every 2 minutes, which happens every time we head over to Academy's competitor, Dick's Sporting Goods.
Prices at Academy are very reasonable too. I was able to get a pair of tennis shorts the other day for $7. While they aren't brand name (which Academy has plenty of), they will suit me just fine. I even found a Frisbee there for 50 cents less than the exact same one at Wal-Mart. Less than Wal-Mart! That is just downright exciting.
We will definitely keep on coming back to Academy. Their prices are extremely reasonable and they have pretty much everything we need to continue being out door and fitness enthusiasts. -

I love Academy. There, I said it. Whatever your game is, you can find your supplies here at low, low prices. These guys sell everything, guns and ammo, tackle, apparel, tents, shoes, small boats, out-board engines, hell, I even bought tubes for the river once. I like to think of it as the Walmart of sporting goods, only cleaner and with shorter lines. This place has it all. I just wish I had the money to shop here more often.

Just moved to San Antonio, I was needing several items for a picnic.
I stopped in and felling in love. They have just about everything that you will need for major sporting or camping.
When it rainly outside, I wil be high and dry in Academy planning my next trip. See you later. -

I love Acadamy Sports....I wish they had this chain in Miami. They always had what I was looking for when I went in there, it always seemed to be well maintained, and you couldn't beat their prices with a stick. I seemed to always find these amazing deals every time I went there for anything I was looking for....and even some things I wasn't looking for. This location was a little bit out of the way from were I lived but it was always worth the drive to get what I wanted at a killer price. Thank you Acadamy...and I hope you make your way to Miami soon so I can get rid of crappy Sports Authority.
