Acacia is the sister lodge to Hidden Valley Inn, about 4 blocks away. It has about 15 one story rooms grouped around a grassy area, pool and hot tub. Each of the rooms has a small concrete patio in front with plastic chairs, a tiny table, and nothing else - not very enticing. Lovely flowers in the garden, a warm pool, and friendly staff, but it's a bit run down at the heels making it very overpriced. The bathrooms are large and have a mini fridge and ironing board, but very old Formica counters and budget fixtures. The bed was comfortable with oodles of pillows, but the windows leak and it's a bit noisy if people are in the pool. The exterior really needs a coat of paint.
Although it looks like a good family place, they actually bill themselves as being for adults wanting a quiet weekend.
The breakfast was in a sunny room overlooking the pool. Fruit, cereals, bagels, and a nice waffle maker. It's served until 10 which was very nice on a Sunday.
Each evening they have a wine and cheese bar at the Hidden Valley Inn, but we didn't try it. The Inn did look much nicer from the outside.
There's lots of parking so you could arrive in a camper and park comfortably as well. Everything in the Village is a short walk.
We paid $163 for one night but they also have weekly rates. But heck - we can't complain - as always, the sunshine in Carmel Valley  mitigates any shortcomings of the lodging.
