Just went in for a cleaning and check-up.
The practice is nice and small, I completely biked right past it.
The staff is really helpful and welcoming.
Dr. Codel is very friendly and professional. He explained my X-rays to me and took the time to talk through the steps of my cleaning.
Was recommended to him by a co-worker, probably stick with him for however long I am in Chicago. -

OHMIGOD.
The dentist here attempted to remove one of my wisdom teeth and DIDN'T REMOVE THE ENTIRE ROOT! After 45 minutes of wrenching, me in the fetal position, I was sent home with a scrip for tylenol 3 and no antibiotics.
I ended up in the ER 6 hours later where I spent 5 hours waiting for an antibiotic I was told I should have got with my original dentist, an oral surgeon the next day for another 45 minutes of wrenching, and eventually ended up in the hospital for emergency surgery a week later. All said and done--I spent 4 1/2 weeks getting well again, including having to retrain my jaw to open more than an inch.
Honestly, this whole business of removing one wisdom tooth was so mangled and mishandled, I would have considered suing for malpractice had the doctor not paid for my subsequent care at the oral surgeon's office. The most nightmarish experience of my life.
But I'm sure they do adequate cleanings. -

I went to see Dr. Codel years ago and unfortunately I had a cavity that needed to be filled.
He completely destroyed my tooth. He ground it down so much that it no longer feels normal.
He seemed more concerned with getting me to buy expensive whitening products rather than my oral hygene.

While not all dental experiences turn out for the best, we all must keep in mind that the vast majority of dentists and medical professionals do their best to keep us in good health.
I have been going to Dr. Adrian Codel and AC Dentistry for at least 3 years now. I have had all of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Codel and am a total chicken when it comes to dental work.
Dr. Codel and his staff have taken great care in making sure I was comfortable and treated with warmth. I chose Dr. Codel because he was a graduate from Northwestern Illinois Dental school where my grandmother was a professor back in 1943-46.
My oral health is directly connected with the rest of my well being and Dr. Codel and his staff at AC Dentistry have gone to great lengths to make sure I had the best dental care.
I highly recommend Dr. Codel and his practice. I should know...my grandmother, Dr. Pola Zuska, was a dentist for a little over 40 years. She is now 93 and still in good health (BTW).
