Abyssinia Market is like any other corner store complete with overpriced beer, grocery items, and drugs. It's there for convenience. Forget to buy milk? They sell it. Forget to buy beer for a party? They sell it. Run out of toilet paper at 2 AM? They sell it. Want ice cream on a hot summer day but can't find an ice cream shop in Belltown? They sell ice cream by the pint and by the bar. Seriously, why can't find an ice cream shop in Belltown?
Anyway! The only difference that separates Abyssinia Market from other corner stores is that the owners are genuinely nice. They greet when you come in and always thank you leave. And they always do it with a smile even on parade days. -

Wine, and Boars head deli, (by the way this is the best deli meat ever-not kidding), but they are not always serving deli sandwiches. Friendly staff, but like most places in downtown/belltown, a rip-off. But hey if you are short eggs, bacon and milk they have it.

Can you rate 5 $'s?
Awk because the owner is always hovering at the door, frustrating because their credit card minimum is $10 (TEN DOLLARS!!). Not only did this seem kinda sneaky, its against their merchant agreement!
The good: they have Ben & Jerry's (something I haven't seen at Dan's) but if you're looking for anything else make the trek one block West to Dan's grocery. Reasonable prices, nice people.
I think this place might be going boycott status for me... -

When it comes to a Small Mom and Pop type of Mini Mart, this place is done really well. Yeah, it could use a little touch on the marketing and design. However, they are not a big chain and don't need it. Prices are a tad high as the norm for a downtown/belltown location. The fee on the card for purchases is not pleasant but they must do what they must do. At least the employees are all very nice and helpful.

I live around the corner from this family owned business, and they're great for stopping by to grab something quick. I usually stop in for a bottle of wine, a Mexican Coke and a lottery ticket (because I think I'll win and buy a home in Hawaii). For a convenience store, they have the best wine selection in Belltown, and the friendliest staff. It's also great because it's on 4th Ave away from the bus stops and most of the crackies who frequent Belltown.

The guys that work here crack me up.
There is always a dude at the door ready to tackle anyone attempting any shenanigans. Good place to snag a bottle of water or energy drink, wouldn't buy much else here... -
