What do you get when you cross an aquarium with balloon animals, games, free freshly baked cookies, cool gadgets and happy people?
Why...an electronics store, of course. On a hunt for a new appliance, we researched all the top discount retailers and found all roads led to to Abt. Abt is the IKEA of electronics (appliances, tvs and audio, fitness equipment, etc.) except of course with all the aforementioned bells and whistles geared towards shoppers and families that will make you leave happy that you gave them your money.
They have reps from the manufacturers present to answer questions about the products, and the Abt staff to process the sales - an amazingly efficient system. Their installation/delivery package is pretty reasonable as well, and we're looking forward to giving them a lot more money in the future. -

I looooove this place! I think I love it a little more after my recent purchase.
I was in the market for an elliptical. I went online and read only negative reviews and people complaining about assembly, quality, etc. So I shopped around. Sears had some machines, their sales people only knew the model name & price, nothing about features, etc. Dicks had some 17 yr old kid who pretended he was a hall of fame athlete and all he could tell me is "we are having a sale." Listen, when I want to shell out for a machine, I want to know what I'm getting.
Finally, I remembered that ABT had exercise machines, and not just TV/appliances. The first trip there, we couldn't find a salesperson to help us. I feel like you have to "dress up" to enter, because the sales people (which I believe are commission based) only talk to people who look like they have wads of cash.
Second trip was a success. The store was relatively empty on a Sat morning (rare!) we were greeted by the salesperson in the fitness dept. We looked around on our own for a few minutes, tried out the machines. Then he started to help us and ask what we were planning to use, how, for whom, and then he made his recommendation. And it was spot on. He was incredibly knowledgeable in all of the products sold. He told us exact features on each model, what differed, how a certain feature would benefit what we were looking to do. Incredible! I mentioned I was worried the heavy machine would damage my hardwood flooring, he included a thick non-skid mat at a reduced price. Whew, what a relief! We got the extended warranty, as friends have mentioned how great ABT is at resolving any issues with the equipment. We also splurged for the extra fee for home assembly. I read online of someone assembling a elliptical for 6 hours, and I didn't want that to be me!
Delivery and assembly was PERFECT! They called before they left the warehouse, indicating what time they'd arrive, asked if we had any special instructions for them. We were the first window on Sat delivery, they arrived perfectly on time. 3 guys, and they knew exactly what they were doing. They had "booties" on, so as not to damage or dirty your floor. Professional, friendly, and assembled quickly and explained how to use the machine. They cleaned up after all the packaging and took it with. Simply SUPER.
I can honestly say, this has been one of the most pleasant buying experiences ever... and I'm a hard person to please! -

This place is a homeowners Luxury DREAMMMMMMMMM... We're about to close on a short sale home and after the sellers are losing so much, they are taking all of their expensive appliances. Hey I can understand.
We had narrowed down our choices and knew exactly what we wanted to purchase at ABT..
Once again when we arrived 2 days after Christmas, the place was a little crowded but I guess we didn't appear to have money to spend. We attempted to get served by 5 Salesmen but they were all rushing their little hearts out to make sure that they caught the buyer looking for the next range in the $500 Isle.. Thank Goodness this Sweet Swedish or Russian Lady could see our frustration.. We ended up spending $9000.00 in approx 30 minutes with Warranties.. but thanks to Renee.. she knocked off so much on the prices.. they exceeded the prices on http://Abt.com's prices and we got everything including warranties and deliveries for $8400.. Now that's Service
To those Sales guys who got that 1 sale on that $500.00 Range that you were breaking your neck to get the sale on.. Shame on you.. sometimes even we have money to just give away -

Extremely reasonable and flexible. We got a washer/ dryer through them and a couple flat screen TVs. We had some prices from competitors and they matched it and beat it by several hundred dollars. They provided a great warranty and delivered in a timely manner and installed everything perfectly.
It was a great experience. The workers don't swarm you when you walk in. They're reasonable. They were having a sale over the weekend and we went a couple days in advance to check things out and the salesperson offered to give us the sale price before the sale date so we wouldn't have to come back. What great customer service.
My only negative comment would be: lose the personalized vests... maybe polos or zippered fleeces. hahaha -

DON'T ORDER ON LINE!!! It sounds like every review I've read thus far about Abt is from a person who actually "visited" the store. Trust me with this one - - the advice is good advice and will save you lots of pain with trying to resolve any issue in the future.
1st issue with ordering on line - you cannot request installation for your purchase on-line (you must place your order first then call customer service to request installation and then they will add it to your receipt and call you back to confirm it was added). I know, don't ask, it's a bit backward, but like I said, Don't Order On Line.
2nd issue - I tried chatting with a sales rep on line about the purchase and he asked a bazillion questions that resulted in me not trusting in his ability to get my order processed correctly. So what do I do? I order on line, hoping I'm ordering everything I need, then I call back for installation.
3rd issue - my GE Washer Dryer, which received top ratings as one of the best Non front-loading stackables (my Brother, friends and Sales person at Sears agreed that front loaders smell after a while due to water buildup at the bottom of the machine-- doesn't empty completely) stopped working. Recap, Day 1 - Feb 6th installation and use - the Dryer takes one load and stops working - it won't turn On (and it didn't even dry all the way through). Same day, I call Abt - they give me 3 days from which to choose a service technician; I choose Saturday / non-work day. I ask when someone will arrive and they inform me the technician will call with a timeframe Saturday Morning.
4th issue - Saturday morning comes, 8:00a no phone call, 9:00a still no phone call, 9:04 I call them. I speak with a customer service rep Jenny. Jenny shows that a "Dryer Knob" was ordered and shipped. My reply: Huh-What? No, I called to have a Technician come out because my Dryer isn't working. Her reply: sorry Mam they have you in the system for a "replacement part" - - do you know who you spoke with? My reply: No, doesn't your system show who took my call?" I'm put on hold, she comes back, tells me I'm not in the system for a Tech visit, the Manager who took the order is in the "parts department" and isn't certain who she spoke with prior to shipping the part. I ask to speak with the Manager in the Parts Department, Jenny puts me on hold again, only to quickly come back and state "the Manager isn't available, can she put me into "Voice Mail"...; Uh, no, absolutely NOT! I thought... I am a customer calling with an issue that I thought had a simple resolution and because an Abt representative screwed-up you want to resolve the issue by putting me into some unknown person's Voice Mail? - - Oh H#!! no. I said can you transfer me to "A" Manager. She says there are about 5 per department, so I'm not sure who to transfer you too (I'm thinking you're freaking kidding me). So, I ask for someone who can give me the name and number of your District Manager in your Corporate office (this is the funny part); she says, this is a Privately Owned Business, we don't have a District Manager and this is the Corporate Headquarters (YIKES). I told Jenny, I wasn't hanging up or going into someone's voicemail and that any Manager would do. Get this, the Manager who shipped me the part gets on the phone, takes my story again, apologizes, says she will call me back in an hour with the name and time of a tech who will fix my dryer today (this all took 15 minutes). She then asks me about the Knob she shipped. My reply I didn't call for a Knob, I called for a Tech.
5th issue - 15 minutes later (now 30 minutes have passed) I get a call from Jenny (customer service) and she says "I found a Tech, but he won't give me a time of when he can be at your place" (LOL, Ugh, I've lost all hope/trust in Abt- ARE YOU Kidding Me?). I say "okay, have you spoken with Bernadine, Manager who is also looking for a Tech? She is to call me back with specifics? Her reply in a not so friendly manner, "I told her that I found a Tech, but that was it." I'm laughing as I write this, only because Abt was highly recommended by my friends - - thanks peeps. So my reply to the Rep was - please have Bernadine (Bern) call me.
6th issue - I receive a call from Bernadine 15 minutes later (now 45 minutes have gone by) she too "can't get the Tech to commit to a time because this Was Not A Scheduled stop (Oh, but it was - it was just not entered into the Abt system correctly -so the new Abt customer (me) needing service is screwed?). However, I will make sure someone fixes your dryer today."
This all happened (Feb 11th), I'm waiting for the Tech to call per Bern between 10:30-12:30 (12:30 -no call). I've researched Abt's website to see who I could forward my "official letter of complaint," found CEO- Bob Abt. The General Manager is Mr. Nyborg (will call Monday). I'll keep you posted on the outcome, but as a first time customer Abt gets one star only because I can't give a half star. -

You should buy appliances here - and I'll tell you why.
I purchased a very pricey suite of Viking appliances here. The sales person was great, took his time, no pressure, stayed late with me. Great person. Sure, the store is all crazy and showy and fancy, but they have a smart operation going in there.
But that's not why. One of the appliances I had installed on a Saturday arrived broken. The installers were very nice about this, and called it in right away. Very professional bunch, and they were so apologetic. I was not happy. I called, and they said they would get me a super fast service appointment. Took some work, but Erwin, the service manager, got someone to my house in 15 minutes. FIFTEEN MINUTES. Two gentlemen showed up and took the microwave apart. The problem? No idea - it was defective in several ways. So I got back on the phone. The Customer service reps were apologetic, but weren't doing much. I got back on the phone with Erwin and a brand new unit will be in my house on Monday morning.
Buy here because they take care of their customers, and they'll do what it takes to make it right. The prices are fair (and deals and all that) but I think I'd spend a little more and consider it customer service insurance.
Thanks ABT for dealing with me and my problem so quickly and efficiently!

Abt is such a great electronic and appliance store. I got my 4 iPod touches from there and there was great customer service. They give me a very fair price and I love Abt. I had a clerk that was really rude and they have me $100 gift card. Overall Abt is amazing and definately come here!

I walked into Abt for the first time yesterday and was totally blown away!!! This place is incredible. I asked many people question about where I should go to buy my new Tv and many people said Abt and told me great things about the Abt's customer service and the products they carry. I was very impressed. I'm not sure if it was just the sheer size of the store the number of employees working on the floor who were all very very helpful and not overly pushy about selling me something.
I wandered around the store for at least 30 minutes until my feet told me to get on with my business at hand and get what I came for. I found myself amazed at the size of their miniature shed aquarium in the store not to mention the fountain in the rear of the the store. They have giggets and gadgets of every make you can think of. This is no Best Buy or Target people. Abt from the outside looks like a standard warehouse until you walk through their doors. They have something for everyone at this store. Looking for a Sony store they have one inside or maybe looking for a Apple store they also have one of them there also. They have a store for designer watches and even a Boss store. The list about this place could go on and on.
So after I tear myself away from their giant encase yourself in a soap bubble thingy and the free cookies I found myself lured towards from the smell.
I was now on my way to the TV dept. Now this can be real tricky here I noticed because they have so many televisions to choose from and this is the point were I needed some professional assistance. I found a nice older gentleman thinking he was going to be my best choice to get a great deal. I exchange some pleasantry's with him and explain what I was looking for and he was off like the wind leading me through a maze of bodies until we arrive at another room where it appears they have more of the larger televisions for you to look at. I explained I was considering buying a samsung D8000 LED from their store and I wanted to know what his best price was going to be on the 65" model.
Abt's pricing was very reasonable compared to the research I did on the internet for the model and it turned out to be even cheaper then what my friend had paid for this same set up.
I found the TV on line for $3799 it turned out this is lower then their cost on this item so he had to get approval from management to sell it at this price. I was pretty doubtful that they would match this price at first but after a few minutes he came back with a yes they would do it. I was charged $380 for a 4 years extended warranty and they threw in a 3D DVD Blu Ray bundle pack for some promotion Samsung has going on which he said was a $400 dollar value. I walked out spending just over $4500. This being my first major purchase in many years beside a car and some appliances I was very happy.
They will deliver it free and install it if I have the correct wiring. Dwight who I was dealing with also let me know that if by chance the price drops lower for any of the items I purchased I need only to call and they will adjust the bill and credit my card. I'm very happy I decided to take the drive from Chicago to Glenview to shop at Abt. I think I found a place I could make my major purchase store from here on out.. Thank you Dwight for a great sweet sweet deal and smooth transaction. -

Researched a washer and dryer online. Called the 888# and the ABT guy was great. Super helpful. Not pushy. Excellent service. They squeezed me in for next day delivery. The delivery guys called promptly at 7am to let me know the 2hr delivery window. They showed up at the beginning of the window and that was it. Easy Breezy. Great service is definitely hard to find.
One day I will travel out to the brick and mortar. -

Have been shopping with Abt since their original store on Waukegan Rd. They are the tops. Before everything could be put on the internet and people could just shop there, I would send my clients in to see my personal salesmen....mostly Ricky, one of the Abt's or Shelly. The staff was a lot smaller than now with this superstore. But the staff is still as helpful as ever.
Even though I don't deal personally with anyone anymore unless I'm shopping for myself, all my clients are still happy. I follow up with all of them. They can go to a local store, find the model and brand they like, then come back to the Abt website and always get a better price. -

strongly recommend this place to purchase all kinds of electronics and appliances, they have competitive prices, and they are far from cheap, but the main reason i go there is costumer service and how they take care of their costumers, i know purchasing something from them and buying a warranty, you get great service with no BS, unlike Best Buy, who mess with your head and give you all kinds of run around's, ABT is straight forward that is why i like them!

I have bought 2 televisions from Abt Electronics and Appliances in the past. Almost always had great service. When the lamp bulb in my Sony LCD needed replacing in 2009 I of course ordered it from Abt. They would know exactly which lamp I would need. Well they sent me the wrong one. Yeah I was pretty ticked off but they rectified the situation and made sure I didn't have to pay for any shipping costs. Plus the deal I got on the tv I bought it in 2002 was so good that once I got the new bulb I didn't care. And that is why I am buying once again from Abt. Today being Cyber Monday and all. I am buying a Dyson DC41 vacuum cleaner. Unfortunately it says it will be 2-4 weeks but from all the reviews it will be worth the wait.
Rating on all Abt experiences:
2002- 5 Stars for my tv.
2005- 5 Stars for my mom's tv.
2009- 1 Star for wrong lamp bulb. Had no tv for over a week. EEK!
2011- Will let you know once I get my vacuum.

12/11/11 Update.
I got my Dyson on 12/9/11. I ordered it on 11/28/11 and was told 2-4 weeks not including shipping. Once again Abt takes care of business. Put the vacuum together and tested it out. Of course it works it's a brand new vacuum. But it is different then a lot of other vacuums I've owned and it takes a little getting used to. Anyway I can't say enough about Abt. They are my go to online company for all electronics and appliances.

My 17-year-old microwave oven conked out, so I started searching on-line for a new one. Abt's web site is very useful and user friendly: you can filter by price or size or features, then compare up to four models at a time side by side. Many spec sheets and user manuals are available there as well. After thoroughly researching what's available on a number of sites, and checking the lowest prices today, I was ready to go to Abt for the first time.
The store is amazing. A huge, clean, interesting place; kind of an upscale version of a Best Buy on steroids. There were areas for different kinds of products. There were rooms that showcased kitchen appliances, for example, in designer rooms complete with sinks, stoves, refrigerators and cabinetry, to see how your purchases might work together. There were low priced brands as well as super-premium commercial kitchen stuff (Viking, Wolf, etc.).
I understand that they have free cookies, coffee and soft drinks, but I was short on time so I didn't seek them out. I was on a mission in a rented Zipcar Cooper Mini that I needed to return in an hour, so I worked fast.
I grabbed salesman Jason Vaccaro and pointed out the Panasonic microwave that Consumer Reports, Good Housekeeping and pretty much everyone else said was a great machine (NN-SD797S). The tag on the display said $234. I knew the Abt web site lists it for $191. But having done my homework, I also knew Best Buy had it on sale today for $151.09 (but BB didn't have it in stock). I asked Jason if they'd price match. A quick look at the Best Buy web page to confirm the price and he cheerfully said sure, I could have that price. Wow!
They accepted the old machine for recycling with no hassle and my new oven was ready at the pick up counter by the time I'd moved the car into the receiving bay. A friendly guy wheeled it out on a dolly and even lifted it into the hatchback for me. And I got a free box of microwave popcorn as a gift.
All in all, as pleasant a shopping experience as I could want at a great price. -

We finished our basement and purchased everthing from the TV to the surround sound, including the couches...the service was unbelievable. The best thing about ABT is the ability to compare nearly EVERY manufacturer side by side. Their price range for each product is deep, which allows you to work within your budget.
The delivery guys were equally top notch...showing up on time, and really helping us get everything where it needed to go.
We plan to remodel our kitchen, and look forward to working with ABT again. -

If there's a heaven for manly, men like myself, Abt Electronics is it. Imagine sitting in your mancave watching a TV large enough to light up Times Square. Not only will you get to enjoy your favorite rerun of the Fall Guy or the Rockford Files, your neighbors three blocks away will be able to enjoy it as well. The truth is, I love this store. Not only do I love this store, I want to take up permanent residence in this store. Put me in a corner and prop me up in one of those chairs with the built in speakers in front of a 100 inch flat screen, with a bucket of buffalo wings and a barrel of Bourbon and I could die a happy man. A matter of fact, just leave me there after I die. Stuff me and leave me in the speaker chair. You can even use me as a coat rack.
My wife and I ended up buying a couple of Sony Bravia flat screens. One for the living room and another for the man cave. The TV's were delivered and set up within a few days. Everybody from the salesman to the delivery guys were amazing. One would think you would pay more for this kind of topnotch service like this, but their pricing is as good as you will find.
Here's the bottom line. Everything about our experience at Apt was first class. The salesman was fantastic, the guys who installed our TV were professional and did a great job hooking us up. I can't think of any reason why a person would shop anywhere else. Yes!! This place is that good.Listed in: Manly places for men!!!

Lousy Customer Service!
Years ago I would have given ABT five stars but that is no longer the case. If you want a really good deal then this is the place to go. If you want really good customer service then look somewhere else.
I had always purchased items from ABT with no issues at all but lately I have had bad experiences when it comes to their customer service on warranty work. They came out to repair my TV which was under warranty but didn't have the correct part. One week later they came out again with the wrong part and then took my TV. I had to call them up and tell them that this was unacceptable and that they needed to leave me a loaner. They did and two more weeks later they returned my TV.
I have another story about a camera purchase but i'm not going to talk about it now. Let's just say that the general manager didn't really care about customer service.
Bottom line: Price and negotiating I give them 5 stars. Customer service and knowledge I give them 0 star. They even have an on line service where you can e-mail customer service and they claim that they will answer you within 24 hours. To this day I never received a call. -

Abt is the best place to shop for appliances, tvs, stereo equipment, cool kitchen gadgets, we were forever hooked after just one visit!
The sales people are friendly and helpful and are excellent at working out a good deal for you. We bought all our appliances here and the prices were the best around and with a 4 year exteneded warranty and 12 months to pay it off without interest this deal cannot be beat!
Shop online or in store but if you shop online they do not ship you chocolate chip cookies with your order. Believe me, I asked! :-) -

No high end purchases for FREE delivery--all items can be arranged for delivery--free. Lowest haul away charges,pro installers at reasonable cost-to ensure proper connections and CODE compliance!! Can hhgregg claim that? We made two purchases over Dec 2011, both were handled very well. We cannot give a higher rating to our salesman -Russ Chandra- and yes we asked for his permission to name him. If you want a floor display item--you get it if available-delivered FREE! After shopping others-- call ABT or go .com and chat for immediate help. Never knew Abt before this Dec. I would hate to have to buy appliances anywhere else.
I know of Abt because my parents and family have shopped there for years (and long before they moved into their current swanky location). I have purchased numerous appliances there...and one appliance I purchased elsewhere. And this...is why I'll never go back...
Set the stage: A warm summer, approximately 2005....broken convection oven.
Me: I don't need to go to Abt, I will go to this "other place" that also sells floor models....it will be cheaper.
Result: Days of attempting to install a convection oven (with a scratch) with a back mount that didn't work....had to buy a new back mount (the right one)....days of a convection oven sitting on the floor in the kitchen.
Final Result: ALL other appliances (and a sink and faucet)...must come from Abt!
They have superior customer service (my mom sent back a fridge when it wouldn't fit and they came back the next day with one that would!). My dishwasher....delivered right on time. Dehumidifier....negotiated a super price.
Definitely the ONLY spot to get appliances...and you can negotiate. Go there - you will be happy! -

We had to buy a new refrigerator because we moved, and the fridge that came with the house was from the 80s and totally sucked.
Anyway, the first place we went to was Abt because we had such a great experience last time. So we found the fridge we liked. Because of scheduling issues, we ordered it a few days later on the phone.
Our new refrigerator was delivered on time, as promised. The two gentlemen that delivered were very nice and polite. They took the old fridge away (good riddance!) and got the new fridge up and running.
Unfortunately, we measured the area for the fridge wrong and had to buy a jigsaw to cut out part of the cabinet above where the fridge goes. We did this after the delivery guys left.
But they got the new fridge all hooked up and running. Better yet, the took the time to explain how to make adjustments to ensure it's level and keep it running smoothly.
More GREAT service with Abt. They haven't disappointed us yet. If you're in the market for any kind of appliance, Abt is the way to go. Two thumbs up!!!Listed in: Favorite Places

If you are after electronics or appliances this is the place! Make sure to do your homework before coming in by going through websites like Consumer Reports and the like first and check out prices from competitors (online or off) because they usually do a good job of matching prices.
Do yourself a favor and at least check it out I do not think you will be disappointed. -

I can't say enough good things about this company!
1) Financing. The credit card gets you at least 12 months no interest on your major purchases. We've financed a tv, tv stand, computer, SLR camera, dishwasher, stove, and range hood...no hassles, no problems, no interest!
2) Variety. If you want it and it's worth buying, you can get it at Abt.
3) Sales people. What a great group! I've always enjoyed working with sales people, on the floor or on the phone. They take their time to find out what you're looking for and what your budget is. Try getting that at Best Buy or Sears!
4) Installation techs. I really appreciated the guys who set up our dishwasher, stove, and range hood (a week after we moved into our "move-in ready" house). They were very tidy and took the time to show us how it works and how to clean stainless steel.
5) Shopping experience. This place is like an electronics candy store. Plus you can check out boutiques like Tumi, Apple, and Viking. -

I like Abt, like that they are locally- & family-owned and all that, BUT: I bought an appliance from them and was not at all happy with the performance thereof. (It was an expensive, high-end item, the likes of which Abt is famous for. It was highly-rated on their website.) It wasn't defective, and due to traveling it took me so long to discover how lame the thing was that it was past returning. Fair enough: sometimes you get hosed.
So I went and rated said item on Abt's website. It was not a good review at all - not against Abt but against the product.
My bad review disappeared. I submitted it again. It disappeared again. I signed up as a "verified purchaser" and did it again. It disappeared again.
So, in short, don't believe the reviews. They're not reliable. Another problem is that reviews for many websites are now interconnected, so clearly if Abt is sharing reviews with other places, that means the other places probably also screen out bad reviews. So caveat emptor: Look carefully when review-searching.
Also, I bought a TV there and once I got it home I discovered that they were selling it on the website for $75 less. I called and they adjusted my price cheerfully enough, but if I hadn't called... I know this is common among all retailers, however - appliance prices fluctuate like airfares. (OK, not quite, but seemingly as random.)
Aside from all that... Abt is great. Nice store. Good selection. A lot less junk to wade through than at Beast Buy or Wally World.... Clientele look like they are on their way to Ikea next.Comment from Jon A. of Abt Electronics & Appliances 4/20/2011

Had to go to Abt's Audio Mobile to get my Alpine iDA-X305 looked at. Making an appointment was easy and they confirmed the day before. I knew I was going to pay for the service because my receiver was out of warranty. Their service rep(I forgot his name) took about 10 minutes to find the problem. He explained what was causing the problem and said it was an easy fix. 15 minutes went by and the receiver was fixed. He showed me that everything was working properly. I asked, "How much will it cost?" He said, "Nope, no cost at all ! " That was great ! I will always return here to get any audio equipment for the car. Yes, the labor is not cheap, but you get quality work !

So what is someone from California writing a review for a store in Chicago? Well because I had the most professional and courteous purchase experience online and via phone calls. The prices were the best I could find and the salespeople especially Joshua and Jarrett were top notch. It is hard to imagine where they might improve. I just ordered my Macbook and am waiting for it so will update the review when I get it. So far very impressed!

Abt is great! We needed all new appliances for our kitchen and decided to trek out to Abt, and are glad we did! You can easily spend a couple of hours here. My favorite area is all the way in the back - go before 2pm (I think) and get free chocolate chip cookies!
We came here twice. We didn't purchase anything on our first visit, we just looked around at the immense selection. They have very low end to very high end brands here - so they cater to every price point. After researching and shopping around online, we decided to come back and purchase, only if they would price match. We had a hell of a time finding someone to help us because they were so busy. Oh, and the sales staff is not pushy. They ask you if you need help, and if you don't, they move on.
We noticed a lady wrapping up an order so waited for her. She helped us as soon as she was done. We told her which appliances we wanted and the prices we found online versus what was in the store and to see if they would price match. Our purchase was quite hefty, and we also asked if they could do something about the sales tax since it's 10%, and if we bought from an online dealer, we wouldn't have to pay sales tax... She went to her manager and came back a few minutes later - they would price match AND would take care of the sales tax for us! SCORE! If you are going to spend lots of $$, do your research, they go to Abt and negotiate. Since they are privately owned, they can do things the big box dealers can't.
A few months later I needed to purchase a vent hood and backsplash for our range. I emailed our sales rep and she got back to me right away with pricing. She even lowered the price a little bit and we took care of everything via email and phone, I didn't have to go out to Glenview for this minor purchase.
They were able to deliver only a few days after our purchase. The delivery guys came during the specified window and were nice and cordial.
No complaints with Abt - they are wonderful. Wear comfy shoes. Do your research, and try to negotiate what you can. I think it's easier for them to haggle on the lower end items. They still will negotiate on the higher end items, just nt as much. And try to go during non-peak hours (whatever they may be) so you don't have to wait forever to be helped. -

I've replaced my washer/dryer, fridge, dishwasher, and microwave at Abt and never had an issue. I did have an issue with the gas stove delivery. The customer service manager was extremely unhelpful and friendly, but the manager was very friendly. Jon Abt even wrote me, hopefully the bad customer service that I experienced will be rectified.

I visited here today with my mother and was blown away by the whole experience!
My mom was looking at a new stove, dishwasher and fridge. She went to Sear's and was quoted $2,400.. and about $600 of that was service fees!
Here Eric Benjamin took his time and did not push my mom to pick more expensive items. Brand wise she got the equivalent that Sear's was offering and a significantly lower price, $1,500 total!
Before my mom even handed over a penny, Eric gave us coupons for free Coffee' at Jolane's, a $50 gift card to use for sunglasses or watches and told us about the free cookies! (and yes the cookies were great!)
On top of the excellent service that Eric provided, while looking through the mall area we saw a wonderful water fountain show, played free pinball and ate some fresh baked cookies.
Next time I need appliances, TVs or a computer I know where I going no questions asked.

Thank you ABT for my pretty new tv! Although this place is not conveniently located, as other yelpers pointed out, it is well worth the drive. They have so many people around to help you out who actually know what they are doing, you will NEVER go anywhere else.
I am a big tightwad, so shelling out cash for something big like a tv can be kind of traumatic. My experience at other stores is that you just leave with the item and you are glad to exit the facility, but not exactly happy about the purchase. Kind of like when Mary Tyler Moore chucks the package of chicken in her shopping cart during the opening credits. Oops, my age is showing! Anyway, our shopping experience was so positive it was great! -

I have bought MANY appliances from them for properties I have rehabbed or just when they have gone bad, and time after time they prove to have great prices and the best customer service I have ever experienced. Jordan M. is my sales guy. I don't think I am allowed to post his phone number or last name, but he is fantastic.
