THE SWEET POTATO THANG!
Sorry to plagiarize you, Jessica, but wow. I had never heard of this business nor this confection until today, but wow. This incredible dessert is quarter sheet size (9x13", at least ours was, I don't know if they're available in other sizes), and is just pure decadence. It's very rich with a buttery crust; the filling is very smooth (no chunks), almost like pumpkin pie or cheesecake, but the taste is different from both of these.
I'm sure they have great cakes and who-only-knows what else, but whatever you do, try this dessert! It's unbelievable. -

Very dissapointed at the people here, called everyday for a week and nobody ever answered the phone. I cancelled my order or so I thought, little did I know that they will not refund $70 for an 8 inch cake. Owner gave me a long speech on how she paid staff to " MIX my BATTA" even though I had to cancel for an unforseen event. She told me people do not realize what really goes on behind the scenes of the making of a cake, which I sincerely respect. They absolutely do not refund $, after this experience do you really think I would like to re-do business with you? I think NOT. So beware. I am letting my bank deal with this issue now and it's not the first time. There are other reviews with similar PROBLEMS.

THE SWEET POTATO THANG!
Rowlett used to be my territory at work and one fine day I happened to stumble upon this bakery. Nothing fancy from the outside, typical bakery filled with wedding cakes and goodies. Nicest owner in the world. She did not buy what I was selling, but she did, however, tell me about her creation....
THE SWEET POTATO THANG!!!!!!!
Honestly, I am not sure what was in this confection she gave to me. It tasted like baby giggles, puppy kisses, sunshine and smiles. It was like a sweet potato pie, but in a way I have never had it. There is an addictive chemical in it that makes you crave it fortnightly.
No words for this slice of heaven. No words. Drive out to Rowlett, the drive is nice over the lake, just don't try to eat one of these while driving on the bridge over Lake Ray Hubbard, you will seriously loose control of your car. Thank me later.Listed in: Do you take sugar? One lump or…

Owner is very friendly. Husband and I love the sweet potato thang. My brother tried it and, although he had hoped for a bigger size, he loved it. Highly recommend!

I went on a Thursday there were several friends? Employees there sitting around. I needed a birthday cake. 55 for a 1/2 sheet I thought was high I can get that from Tom thumb for $12. As I was about to leave the owner suggested the sweet potato pie. Good choice. Everyone loved it. you get what you pay for the taste was worth it :--)

I am a fan of the sweet potato thang...but the only cake ive ever ordered from there was pretty gaudy (tasted good though). My only real problem with them is that they can be hard to get ahold of and when I did get them on the phone they werent really friendly. But seriously..people are not lying about that sweet potato dessert..its good. Reminds me of pumpkin cheesecake..without crust.
