Piece of gravel cracked my windshield while I was driving down the 1 - same old story.
I called another auto glass place in town and they quoted me $265 and that they could come over to my driveway and do it in two days. Absolute Auto quoted me $350 at first, but said that they could match the first place, and I'd have to take it over to Soquel. For convenience's sake I went with the first guys.
Not only did the first guys delay my appointment *TWICE* ("We couldn't get your glass from our supplier," "We were unloading your glass and we dropped it"), but I was sent a poorly-worded apology by text. BY TEXT, PEOPLE! And they only offered to give me $10 off my order. Needless to say, I was appalled and immediately set up an appointment with Absolute Auto.
I took the car over to Soquel that same day. The receptionist (Linda I think?) was careful to point out some pre-existing scratches in my paint around where they'd be working. I spent three hours on the Wi-Fi at Staff of Life while my windshield was replaced. When I got back, the manager thanked me for my business, price-matched the other shitty auto glass guys, and gave me careful instructions on when to remove the tape and everything. They definitely have a new lifelong customer!

I got a chip in my window driving to sf on a Sunday. Not just an "oh shoot, a baby crack *shrug*" but an "omg, if I hit a patch of high wind I'm afraid my windshield will be in my lap" kind of chip. I work 8-5 m-f, so I had a real challenge on my hands to get it fixed (on site wasn't an option for me, long story). After calling around, the woman who answered the phone let me know that if I could make it by 4:45, they would stay late to take care of me. It was do-able, so I agreed and made an appointment for 2 days later.
To fix the single chip it was $75, and I was quoted a half hour wait time, with the reminder of: "you know it won't be invisible, right?" 15 minutes later, my massive chip was just a small visible-in-the-right-light crack that I'm not at all terrified of any longer. Plus if it ever gets worse, they will credit what I paid to a new windshield.
The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars and not five is because it feels a little skeezy. The waiting area doesn't really feel clean, and they were way casual even by Santa Cruz standards. But I would use them again if I had to. -

This place is great. There is no need to search for other quotes because not only does this place have great prices, but they are professional and honest too. They will also meet or match any price in town, so take it from a local: do business here.
What I appreciated most about this place was them checking in with me after I had first called in for quote and then later reminding me of my appointment after I had decided to do business with them. They really value their costumers in a genuine manner. Plus the friendliness of the staff and owner can't be beat. If I ever have glass repair needed in the future this is where I'll come.
It was a great experience doing business with them. I dropped my car off in the morning, went to yoga, and after my class my car was already done. Fast, reliable, honest, and professional. What more could you ask for in a business? -

Excelllent work--I highly recommend them.
Absolute Auto Glass is a locally-owned business that does quality work. This is my second windshield that they replaced (rocks hit my windshield on two separate occasions), and they repaired a chip for me on another occasion. They do great work and are really nice people.
Subaru of Santa Cruz always recommends Absolute Auto Glass, and this is great if you have a Subaru b/c they have Subaru windshields in stock.
When I called State Farm about coverage for my cracked windshield, they immediately tried to steer me to use a mobile windshield service that would reduce my $100 deductible to $75. This mobile service is not located in Santa Cruz I have used a mobile windshield company in the past and while it as cheaper, the quality of the glass was not as good--it i was thinner (thinner means easier to crack the next time a rock hits it) and it didn't have that nice tinted part at the top of the windshield. You have the right to choose what repair business you want to use, but the person who first took my call at State Farm was persistent about using the mobile service. Resist them and go with a reputable business.
FYI: State Farm seemed to want to just repair the windshield if the crack was less than the length of a dollar bill (it wasn't--overnight it grew from about 3.5: to about 8 inches just from sitting outside on a June night in Santa Cruz. The owner at Absolute said that even some cracks less than that are not safe to repair so be careful about a business that will repair a crack that long. -

So I have the worst luck with windshields and it cracked again.. stupid mother WEDFIDFJ@#$)#@$I*@# rocks!! My friend's student's uncle works here.. recommended it... it was an awesome choice.. very friendly and totally willing to work with your schedule. They accept visa and mastercard for sure... they require a fifty dollar deposit as an fyi. Because I was referred they gave me a 50 dollar discount.. I will take it! My windshield looks great and totally recommend coming here :-D.

I was very pleased that Absolute Auto Glass was not only able to fix my windshield on short notice, but they did so in less than their estimated time frame (2-4 hrs). Best of all, they price matched (beat, really) a competitor's quote. So I basically got it done for a very good price. They're nice. Go support them!

Stoked on this place because it was right down the street from my house! They had the glass in super quick and installed the same day. They were really helpful and made a nasty experience much better! Taking off a star because they didn't call me when my car was done, I had to call them.

My car was broken into and Absolute Auto Glass worked with me to get the best deal to replace my window. Dropped it off and picked it up after work, no problems. This place really works hard to meet your objective price and needs.
