I love this place! Ive loved it since high school, I get the same thing every time, i get the penne alla vodka and its always amazing! Even with the chef change its still outstanding, I love the atmosphere, it reminds me of old family sunday dinners. The only thing i didnt like was that on New Years they had a limited menu, and my husband and I drove up from Virginia to have dinner with my parents here and they didnt have my husbands favorite dish. Apparently though that is the norm for most places on New Years, i didn't know that, but its not necessary for this place, the amount of people that were there looked like the same amount of people there on any given evening, but either way its a mandatory stop when ever i come home!

Nice little Italian place.
Had the lasagna, huge portion, sauce was a bit too sweet but overall a good dish. The fresh garlic bread was amazing.
The place is very attractive as can be seen by the photos. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. I would have liked to try some more dishes, but many things here are made with mushrooms, so being allergic too bad for me. -

This place would have gotten another star if not for the extremely impersonal hostess. Please keep in mind it was close to yr ago that I went so I dont want to get anyone in trouble currently. I will say, the food was very good, but when we arrived the hostess left us sitting there, never offered us a seat, barely looked our way. No one else seemed to care very much either. Service was ok, clean place, good food, but vibe was far from warm, its whats kept me from going back.

We have been here quite a few times and it seems to get better and better. They have a nice basic wine list however they just started measuring the pours sometimes instead of free pouring. You still receive a healty glass but a small pet peeve. The meals we have had have ranged from good to wow, short rib with gnoochi case in point. Try it.I love there soups as well. They have a nice after work crowd and you can sit at the bar and have some drinks while you wait for your takeout. The place can get busy and 1 time I waited over an hour for my pizza. Turns out Pizza was ready in 15 minutes but since I was talking to friends and ordering wine I guessed I missed it when bartender said it was ready. They kept it warm and it was delicious and worth it even though wife inquired what the heck happened to you! I blamed the bartender, and opened up a bottle of Pinot at home!
ps have never yet seen an unattractive waitress or bartender! Just saying. -

I would call this a mediocre spot, at best. We went for lunch, mostly because it was open on Monday. The service was slow, the music was really loud. The ladies' restroom sink looked like it needed a really good scrub. No specific lunch menu. Entrees were about $15-$30, sandwiches started at $11, and sides looked to be about $7 each. We had the chicken cutlet panini and the chicken Parmesan grinder. The sandwiches were ok, but nothing to crave or go back for - kind of flavorless and bready. The side salad was over-dressed, fries were ok. For the same cost, you can go up the road to Mc Kinney &D and have better food and fast, friendly service. In the warmer months it looks like they have a driving range, which would be fun for a golf enthusiast. We probably would not go back or recommend it.

Ate Dinner last Friday night..
We are not "regulars" but have been here several times on our journey out of New York City for the weekend. Not sure why I've never written a review..
Good Food, Good Service and a Great Sunset view.
I especially like the Eggplant Napoleon appetizer... well executed idea and very delicious. (coming from someone who is allergic to eggplant, that's a huge compliment)
They make a daily risotto which is worth ordering. Also, the Penne with crumbled meat in a parmesan cream sauce is to die for. And trust me you will die, it's sooo rich, it should be illegal. LOL
Entrees are large so you'll most probably have left overs.
Insider info: They serve you salad in between appetizer and entree, so keep that in mind.. It's quite filling..
Wine selection is pretty decent. We have a knack of ordering the ONE wine they don't usually have but that's just us.
For dessert if you're cheating on your diet, you must have the Fried Dough.. Delish...
All in all, I would recommend this place to you guys. The only drawback is that it's a popular place, so maybe make reservations on a weekend night or you might face a long wait line.
Side Note: During sporting events, the bar is hopping and a great place to hang.. -

Penne alla vodka was delish. My uncle had grilled salmon on a bed of rice which looked really good also. The atmosphere was nice & the staff was friendly.

Pawling, NY
Food is consistently good; owners and staff are very friendly. Atmosphere is excellent. This is probably the best place to eat in Pawling for a sit down dinner. Meeting for drinks is also a good idea since they have a big bar area.

The owners are warm and friendly. The food is consistently good Italian with huge portions. Many a family celebration is found here on the weekends, and local escaped husbands can be found at the bar.

Cozy (and contemporary!) Italian restaurant with a warm and inviting hostess. Great for families and groups, though it does have a little bar scene for the single set. The owner, Eleanor goes out of her way to make sure you're happy with your food. The staff also makes an effort to make sure they know you and your name for the next time you come back.

My husband and I go there weekly. The food is consistently great and there are plenty of selections. My favorite's are the lasagna, eggplant parmesan, and the new "sunday gravy" which is spaghetti with veal, sausage and meatballs. The pizza is also great. They have affordable bottles of wine and the wait staff is always a pleasure. Portions are large so be prepared for delicious leftovers!
