It's that time of year - Spring cleaning! Also, one day I looked at one of my couches and thought "where did all these stains come from?" - it was like they materialized over night, but of course, it had been years, I just noticed them one day. Once I did though, I HAD to get them cleaned. I called to get an estimate,which was about what I thought it would run ($130 per couch), made an appointment for yesterday.
They were supposed to show up between 9-10AM, and at 9:58AM, I thought "oh here we go...." but then the phone rang and Veronica said he was running late, apologized and said he would be here in 10 min. Now THAT is customer service!
He arrived shortly after the call and got right to work, explained what he'd be doing & how long it would take. Asked me if I wanted to Scotchguard the couches ($30 each), and I appreciated the fact that there was no "hard sell".
The couches look great! -

Made an appointment on Thursday for Friday morning at 8:30 a.m.. The technicians showed up on time and were friendly and explained the job. They started right away and got my living room, dining room, bedroom and a small pantry done by 11:00 a.m. The carpets looked great and smelled great. The next day though my pantry started to smell musty so I called the office and the person on the other end of the phone was fantastic. She said not to worry she would send someone out the same day to fix the problem. We were having an open house and I could not have this problem. About 2 hours later the technicians showed up and re-cleaned the pantry and put in large fans to dry it faster. Problem solved! Thank you Above the Rest for all your customer service. I will be recommending you to all my friends and clients.

When you live with 2 men & 2 dogs, you are bound to have a mess of a carpet! Thanks to Above the Rest Cleaning, my carpets look fresh and new.
I called on a Friday hoping to get a Saturday appointment...Yes...1 day notice. I had my finger's crossed but would have understood if they needed to schedule it out to a later date. But who knew Veronica, who I spoke with, would get me in so quickly! She looked at their technician's schedule and told me she would call me back in a few minutes to confirm. Bam...10 minutes later, I was in for a Saturday carpet cleaning.
The technician was very professional and took account the rooms, stairs and hallways I had. He also suggested I get Scotch-guard for my carpets because of my 2 dogs. I was really happy to find out it didn't cost me an arm & a leg to have my carpets clean.
It took a few hours but when the tech was done, the carpets looked FABULOUS....but wait...THERE WERE WRINKLES IN MY CARPETS! I panic and the tech said this is normal. He said some carpets do that and it will disappear when it dries. But when he walked out the door, even more wrinkles popped up. In my panic, I called the Above The Rest office and left a message saying I was not happy.
Well...I had some Chinese food to calm me down and as the carpets dried, the tech was right! The wrinkles started to go away! And the owner of the company called me the next day to make sure my carpets were cleaned to my satisfactory! All I can say is I had a great experience with Above The Rest Cleaning and now I'm gonna have them clean my stone floors :) -

what is it about carpet + upholstery cleaners that I've come to expect a bad experience? well, I think I found my new favorite company!
from my first phone contact, Above the Rest was a pleasure to work with. I was able to book at appointment with only a day lead time at a time that was convenient for me (and flexible).
Brian, the tech, arrived on-time, was very polite, and did a great job! The only negative is that I could smell the cigarette smoke on Brian. I called him on it (I'm an ex-smoker) and he apologized. But I couldn't help noticing it the rest of the appointment -- the reek of smoke had invaded my home and I wasn't happy about it. Besides that, I was super-happy with the entire experience. and my upholstery looks GREAT! -

I just hate to give Shawn & Above the Rest yet another glowing review, but I'm afraid I must..... They're that good!!
The first thing I noticed when he came to the house was that he took time to listen to my needs & concerns - I am so tired of the residue left behind from other carpet cleaners that attracts dirt - so I told him that I wanted it rinsed twice so that it would be "squeaky clean". He did that, and also explained about the type of cleaning solutions used.
His energy & enthusiasm carry through to the rest of his company and that is what makes them so great! It's always nice to work with professionals who care about their work. -

Before we hired Above The Rest, my wife and I were a bit skeptical of how they could achieve all five star reviews on Yelp; it's somewhat unprecedented.
Now we know why.
Our loving Boston Terrier Charlie sometimes likes to inflict great damage on our nice things. This time, he decided it would be cool to chew up a pen leaving a gigantic ink stain on our new custom made runner in the back hallway. It happens to be cotton, which is the most difficult fabric for removing ink stains.
Based on Above The Rest's impeccable previous reviews, we brought them in. After two hours of very hard work, and probably some magic, the ink stain was completely removed.
Shawn, who performed the work, was incredibly courteous, friendly, and professional. He went above and beyond our expectations, and we look forward to using him and his company again. The company is also very reasonably priced; in fact, they probably deserve to charge some more. -

We are in the middle of prepping our house for sale, and one of the biggest headaches in making that work is finding people you can trust to do a great job. Carpet cleaning is just one of those things: we have used many carpet cleaners before, and none of them has ever super-impressed us.
Thanks is good part to reviews on Yelp, we asked them to come get the house all set. The office people were very professional about scheduling, and they accommodated a couple of schedule changes that were demanded by our staging person.
The cleaner was on time, diligent, and very careful with our belongings. The cleaning was very thorough - he did not miss a thing.
I will not knock any of the other carpet cleaning companies, but I will say that Above The Rest is aptly named, and I would definitely recommend them as well. -

During the past 5 years living in our house, we never got our carpets cleaned. God knows how long it was before we moved in. So, with new renters on their way, we knew we were way overdue to get our brown (err, beige) carpets deep cleaned.
I called around and got two highly regarded owner-operated carpet cleaning businesses to come by and provide a quote on cleaning carpets, our sofa and some area rugs, and went with Above the Rest's quote.
Shawn not only demonstrated deep knowledge, but also great enthusiasm and hunger to win my business with a competitive price. In fact, two days later, Shawn called me to alert me to a 20% off promo he was running, which saved me more money, which I appreciated.
As owner-operator, Shawn is very hands on with his work, and takes great pride to deliver the highest customer satisfaction you can imagine. His work speaks for itself, and his approach (including following up 3 days later to make sure I was completely happy) ensured that I would be a delighted customer - or he'd deal with it.
Prompt, professional, and price competitive, Shawn is mean with a steam cleaner. And, my carpets are cleaner than they've ever been. -

My dog that pees on my carpet a lot.
On the initial apartment inspection, my landlord called my carpet "disgusting", and said she may have to replace all the carpets, and I would not be getting my deposit back.
After reading some reviews for carpet cleaners on yelp, I decided to go with Above the Rest. I even called and spoke to Shawn and explained my carpet "situation", and he assured me he'd be able to get all dog (and other) stains out.
They came, cleaned, and were true to their word... when they finished, the carpet looked just as new, and I got my whole deposit back! -

unbelievable!
My carpet needed some replacing, so I thought. I was dirty and thought theres no way someone going to get this carpet even half clean.
Shawn came in and said, " I can clean your carpet" and I said " no way, that carpet can't be cleaned. Next thing you know, The carpet was clean and it looked spanking brand new. -

Red Sharpie - Gone. Dirt - Gone. Questionable Black Tar/Meteorite Residue After Being Abducted By Aliens And Used For Experimentation- Gone. Green Beer from St. Patty's Day - Gone. Now Oxidized Post-Failed Attempt at Removing Vomitus - GONE.
If Nordstrom's had a carpet cleaning division, it would be Shawn and Brian from Above The Rest. Spent much much much time (did I mention they invested 'way much' time) trying to get some red ink stains out of the carpet which they were very successful at removing. They spent 4 hours of time on about 1500 sq. ft. of carpet including five rooms, about 30 steps, a landing and moderate sized hallway. I spent $335. Carpet looks like new.
Shawn is super nice and friendly. He dropped some knowledge on some (safe) tricks that I could use to get tough stains out. Of note, they actually have 30+ reviews but are filtered out because they were written by Yelpers with only one review (you can actually see them by scrolling to the bottom and clicking on the link to see all).
Perhaps as important, I want to thank you Yelpers. Admittedly, I had Tremendous Trepidation looking for a good carpet cleaner (not too unlike the sinking feeling I get looking to buy new car) and so thanks to you guys, I have found one. Although you guys gave Above the Rest no less than 5 stars, I was honestly still skeptical but decided to roll the dice and go with your recommendation. Thanks!!! Can't wait to use them again.
Quality of Work: 5 (Who needs plates? I have carpet! Or, 'The Three Second Rule' just became 'The Three Day Rule'.)
Service/Professionalism: 5 Wish I could clone them and place them in all facets of society.
Friendliness: 5 (Super friendly. I could probably now write his CV.)
Price/Value: 5* (*I did not diligently get other companies estimates, but I have a feeling it is in the ballpark. When considering the time they spent, I am certain it is more than a bargain.)

Great business...great work. Had them do our carpets and area rugs. We have a 104 pound yellow lab so they had their work cut out for them. Also went with the deodorizer and scotch guard and all were very reasonable. When they were complete they use fans that spin at 40 mph to dry the carpets...very nice work. Will be using them from now on. Wow the house smells much better :)

Next to the 5 stars I just gave Shawn and his business, it says "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" and that just about sums it up! My carpet was thrashed, from two kids, a cat, and life. The kicker was when the fish tank overflowed!! I wish I had called someone out right away, but didn't, thinking it would just dry out (I now know that he is certified to fix this type of problem, so his card is being kept very close at hand!) Of course it didn't - by the time I called, I was panicked because the floor boards were lifting up. Shawn was really reassuring that he could help, even recommended someone to help fix the floor and carpet before it could be cleaned.
When he came out, I was afraid he was going to tell me it was hopeless - but he didn't, just took a look around, said 'no problem', and got to work. I loved that I didn't feel pressured into purchasing 'extras' - just said I wasn't needing anything but the cleaning and that was that.
He definitely took his time, especially on the cats' 'favorite' spot. When I walked back in, it absolutely looked like new carpeting! Seriously, amazing. He was very upfront with everything, pointed out the areas he wasn't able to get out (paint; I think he has an 'extra' something or other that can, but it wasn't really an issue for me). I also love that he left me with some of the cleaning product he uses for future spills (the junk I was using didn't work and had discolored the carpet. I had actually thought it was bleached, but after the cleaning, it was gone!) I am so happy with the service ~ can't recommend Above the Rest highly enough! -

I had a stain I needed to get cleaned ASAP. I had some friends over for a party and my sister and brother in laws house and one of my friends got sick and didn't quite make it to the bathroom. I called a few places asking if they could clean just the stain. No one was willing, unless I had the whole room done.
I finally called Above the Rest and they said yes! They only had an early time slot and I needed a later one, so I asked them to let me know if someone canceled...and they did! Shawn showed up on time and was able to get the stain out.
He was honest about what he thought the results would be. I had put some carpet cleaner on it and Shawn let me know that, sometimes that makes it harder to get the stain out, but he was going to try his best.
Not even an hour later, Shawn was able to get the stain AND the smell out. He did say that sometimes the smell can come back, but I have not noticed it.
What they charged for that, was very reasonable. I was so happy they came out to clean just that stain and before my sister and brother in law got back from vacation.
I recommended ATR to my sister for the rest of the carpets in the house and she is planning on it! -

The best cleaning and the most thourogh I have every seen. All spots gone. Couch & Carpet. Even water damage he knew how to take care of this. Beautiful!

So impressed! This was the second time I had used their service and meant to write a review but never got around to it. This time, I had to do a review! Brian showed up on time and worked so hard for four hours to clean and remove stains from my white carpet. The only downside was that Brian did such an amazing job that now my husband says we don't need to replace the carpet with hardwood floors because it looks like brand new. Brian was very thorough, polite, hardworking and an employee to be treasured! Seldom do you see that level of dedication. Thank you Brian and Above The Rest for an excellent job!

This company cleaned the berber carpet in our apartment yesterday. They arrived on-time and were friendly and knowledgeable. The work they did was very good - they removed all the little spots I was worried about. I'm not giving stars because the price was pretty high, and wound up being about twice what I thought it would be based on our initial phone conversation. They also told me the carpets would be dry within a few hours, but it is 32 hours later and the carpets are still quite damp in spots, despite running fans and having the windows open. Maybe it's just because berber carpets hold water for a long time, but I would have appreciated them giving me a warning.

I highly recommend his services, Shawn was very professional. His work was outstanding. He did pressure washing outside the house on the steps which were bricks. And after he was done they appeared to be brand new again. He also cleaned my carpet that had not been cleaned since it was installed . The carpet looked amazingly clean , I have never seen the carpet like that not even when it was first installed.

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! Shawn is a delightful young man. Don't let his age (30) fool you. He knows what he is doing and is a very good businessman. He will go far because his people skills are outstanding and his work is beautiful. My area carpets in the LR and DR look brand new. I said I should have these cleaned every 6 months. He said, "no every year should be fine". Now that is an honest man. He started his own business after being in the business with his father. He, therefore, has many years of experience and was taught well. He has purchased high end equipment and it shows.
I am very impressed and you will be too. I asked for extra cards so that I could give them out. I not only like his work, I like him.

I needed good carpet cleaners and so I decided to try Above the Rest. I have been extremely pleased with them. I called them up 2 weeks ago and made an apt to do two separate places - the rental I was leaving and the new place I was moving to. They were extremely nice on the phone, accommodating and prices were very reasonable. A few days before I had to postpone one of the cleaning and they were very helpful and prompt in rescheduling.
They came out and nicely cleaned the first place (looked very nice and clean!) and also cleaned my handmade rugs (really worked at those).
A week later (today - as I write this review they are finishing up), I had an appt at 2-4. I called up in the morning and asked if they could come earlier. They were extremely prompt in responding and did come at 10:30 am.
They again did a fabulous job at taking out stains. Some stains of course never fully come out but it made a huge difference to the carpet.
Very professional and prompt and extremely reasonable prices. They come in, are focused, do their work and leave. They do have a $100 dollar minimum and as of now do not take credit cards but do take checks (they are working on the CC).
Very happy with them especially their customer service. -

I discovered this business via Yelp so am adding my review. My nice 5' x 8' oriental carpet got soaked in the early Jan. storms. I was quoted $1.50 sq. ft. by Above the Rest (another company quoted $5.50!!) They arrived on time the same day I called. After examining the rug, they offered to clean it while I wait. After about 45 minutes my rug was finished (note: be aware that the rug will smell for days, it will eventually dissipate).
A couple of weeks later I had them pick up 3 rugs I had in storage. One of them was a hand-woven wool Tibetan rug I discovered had serious mold damage. I was heartbroken and wasn't sure if it could be salvaged but decided to have them clean it anyway. The rug(s) were delivered 7 days later by Shawn. I opened the mold rug and although they did the best they could, it was not salvageable. He decided not to charge me for that rug.
I highly recommend this company for carpet cleaning and flood damage. -

I'll keep this brief because I'm merely echoing what a lot of other people are already saying. Essentially, Shawn did great work and made the carpets look spotless. Rather than those hand-held cleaners other companies bring round, he uses some insane industrial-strength contraption direct from his van which evidently does a way better job. Suffice to say, for a move-out clean before our relocation, it exceeded my expectations and didn't break the bank.

Choco, my 6-pound chihuahua has a tendency to use all areas of my apt for her "excretory needs" if u will. And over the months, the accumulation has resulted into some form of abstract artwork, and definitely not of the award-winning variety. Subsequently, it became evident that something needed to be done, and the thought of searching for a dependable, yet affordable carpet cleaning service was a bit daunting. This was when I searched on Yelp for the highest rated service in my area. Fortunately, I stumbled on this page and took the leap of faith. A+++++ is all I have to say! My experience with Shawn and his friendly staff demonstrated to me why the 5-star reviews were warranted. From start to finish, the service was impeccable, and my carpet looks absolutely brand new. To say that I would recommend them would be a vast understatement.

Have 3 kids and a cat. The carpets were extremely dirty with dirt children dragged into the house and spilled soda, milk, juice etc. Not all of the stains came out but I fully expected it due to the level of the dirt. I have beige carpets and there were areas that were solid black from dirt/stains. They scrubbed the heavily soiled areas and got the moderate stains out.
Came 15 minutes early but they called 1/2 hour before the appointment to make sure I was ok with it. 900 sq ft place took approx 1 hour 15 minutes. Will definitely use them again.
I was charged $40 per room instead of the advertised $35. I think they would have charged me the correct price if I had reminded them about the Yelp special but after seeing how hard these guys were working decided that they earned the extra $5/area. Even tipped em an extra $20 bucks.
Update:
Today I received a check in the mail for $15 from Above The Rest with a note stating that they discovered the mistake and apologized for the confusion. Great people. Thanks again Above the Rest. -

Got a coupon in the mail for the previous tenant and thought ATR would be able to provide an exact cost since they had been there before. I looked at the Yelp reviews and they seemed very well liked. After having them clean my white carpet with a million stains, that reputation is well deserved! They did a perfectly meticulous job. Nice people, great job, good price.

Wonderful local business. They spent a great amount of time on my carpets, and came back to remove a nasty peppermint vodka stain (which I thought would need patching with new carpet.) Pricing and service much better than Coit, 1000 times better than Chem Dry. Highly recommended.

Above the Rest lives by its namesake! This family-owned business has excellent customer service and delivers results. I was very happy with the results....
I inherited a Pottery Barn down blend white sofa from a girlfriend who was moving. It had a lot of stains that needed to be cleaned. I called Above the Rest and they answered with great courtesy and they were able to book an appointment for service within a couple of days. On the day of service in the morning, I received a call from Above the Rest confirming the time the technician was scheduled to arrive. I got another call closer to the appointment time with news that the technician's job is running longer than expected and the technician would be delayed. They kept me updated couple of hours later that there would be further delays. The customer that the the technician was servicing kept on asking for additional services. I was getting frustrated since it was getting delayed further, so I mentioned that I would like to cancel this appointment. Because of this inconvenience, they offered to clean my sofa for $50 if I'd like to. I said yes. The technician showed up couple of hours later. He got to work right away. He was delayed due to an accident on 280 in addition to the demanding customer prior to coming to us. I believe his name is Brian (hope the spelling is correct!)
Brian was very thorough and professional. He worked on the stains for a couple of hours and got almost all of them out. Some of the stains have been there a long time and I didn't think it was possible to remove them. He is very hardworking and you could see why this family-owned company has great customer satisfaction. After I paid for the service and Brian left, I got a call from the owner. He asked me how the cleaning went . He told me he would refund me the $50 back and my sofa cleaning would essentially be free. He kept his word, the next day I got a check in the mail. I am amazed and very happy that this kind of service still exists. I highly recommend Above the Rest and will use their services again and again. -
