Wow, one of the best massages I've had anywhere bar none. I came to F'burg to visit my girl friend and she booked me a massage as a present. Beth got me a full hour and a half massage which included reiki and aromatherapy. Dawn the owner was my therapist and she was very professional. The massage was spot on perfect and totally relaxing. I will be asking for a second massage as a birthday present.
PS: The spa decorations are a mind trip on their own. All those quirky offbeat decorations was a lot like visiting a really cool museum. -

There are no words for me to properly describe this place. Upon first glance your going "oh gosh, what am I getting myself into". The house is so cute and its a historical landmark, but a spa? You'd never guess. Anyoils, when you walk in it's the quietest, best smelling place in the whole wide world. You immediately start to relax. While you wait for your appointment you sit in these lovely lazy boy recliners and just marvel in the quietness. My grillerz and I were whispering and I felt we were being to loud. It's heavenly.
When it was time for us to go back for our massages, they put us together in the same room. We totally weren't expecting that, but we're glad they did. We laid on the table in a totally zen room and when the ladies came in, they literally floated by. They were so very sweet, asked us where our problem areas were and then literally told us to "fly away". This was good, because neither myself or my friend like to talk during massages. I literally didn't speak from start to finish. It was absolutely fantastic.
This was by far one the absolute BEST massages I have EVER had in my LIFE (are we understanding the CAPS yet?). She used the perfect amount of pressure and worked out all my seriously tense areas. Sometimes after a massage, I'm sore for days. However, I was only slightly sore and had much more mobility the next day....and the kinks were gone. Hooray! They also have lots of other spa options, mani/pedis, facials, packages, the whole deal. Check out the website for all their services!
Next time I'm in Fredericksburg, I will DEF be bringing myself back to Above and Beyond. They were so sweet, accommodating, professional and simply fabulous.Listed in: Fabulous Fredericksburg Finds

Absolutely the worst pedicure in my life. You literally sit in a large office chair with a bucket of water for your feet that is sitting on something that vibrates it. When asked if I wanted to upgrade to the "spa" I said yes. This pedicure lasted under 30 minutes from beginning to end, didn't include any sort of real exfoliation, cuticle work, or massage. I felt like I got my feet washed, lotion quickly rubbed on and some paint slapped on my toes. I am no pedicure snob, and I literally felt when I left that I had just been taken for $50! Besides doing a horrible job the staff was pleasant.

We selected an out-call couple's massage from Above and Beyond Day Spa. Our massage therapists were outstanding. They were punctual (eventhough they got lost finding our cabin, they had allowed extra time), courteous, professional, and informative. The music selection was lovely and the aroma selections were gentle and soothing. They worked with us to find the appropriate amount of pressure and customized the treatment to our particular needs.
