About shopping @AboutGlamour. Take it easy. You may not find anything on your initial visit. Go a few times and you'll discover the clothes that fit your style. It may even inspire you to reinvent your style. Because the store is eclectically stocked, the merchandise here is kooky. Once in a while you'll find a gem. It could be a hooded coat from the 40s or a pair of grungy jeans in asphalt sky. They may seem "rough" but trust me they'll transition smoothly as part of your everyday wardrobe and they won't feel out of place. In fact you'll be ahead of or even setting the trends.
I've bought unique branded clothes that are hard to describe. A shirt that buttons on a slant, a Japanese sanitary worker's uniform, a reversible painted jacket, and many more. All are super cooler and more fashion forward than other upscale vintage stores. Sure, About Glamour also has designer labels at reasonable prices from Vivienne Westwood to COMME des GARÇONS. But you must understand, About Glamour is a sartorial adventure seemingly curated by a bunch of Japanese style delinquents. The point is have fun and go explore! -

Bought a belt here. It was actually pretty affordable (unlike some of the other stuff sold here...).
The store is eccentric, vintage, and one-of-a-kind. The staff was super friendly. -

I browsed the Men's section a bit, but I'm not sure they styles really matched mine. That said the women's section seemed to appeal as there were tons of lovely ladies browsing the aisles. I also checked out the notebooks and cards in front. There are a *LOT* of quirky greetings cards, birthday cards, and original stuff. Some paper stamps and other original items.

This is a great vintage store because it has a specific focus on Japanese vintage. If you're not into it, don't bother, but if you are this is a must.
Of course you're not going to be the only one interested in buying cool Japanese vintage (at actual vintage prices) so to make the best purchases you should come back regularly. They get shipments Thursday and usually hang the new stuff in the store on Friday.Listed in: Born to Shop

Sometimes the best stores are the ones you stumble into accidentally on a rainy day when you're playing hooky from work! Shhh, don't tell anyone! That's what I did today.
Love cute Japanese stuff? Want to find a really unique gift for a friend? Like thrift stores that seem to hand-select all their merchandise for quality? Well then you'll probably really like About Glamour! I spent $25 there today and bought three little gifts for a friend: cat note cards and envelopes, cat post-its, and a re-useable Alice in Wonderland bag to tote groceries or other purchases around in. I know my friend will love the stuff, and About Glamour even gift wrapped it for me in adorable Christmas wrapping! Yay! A new favorite store to buy gifts for girls in. -

I'm so glad I accidentally walked into this place.
Their stuff is sooooooo cute. Some are expensive, some not.
Japanese stuff and Japanese staff.
Cute cute cute. Just bought an umbrella today.
last time, I bought a sweatshirt of this French children's book character "Barbapapa," whom I love but can never find clothing of. I freaked out.
GREAT place to buy presents. For shizz. -

For the men's section I can say:
Most items are distinctive, almost all are well- designed, and everything is well-made. The few items that are blah would be solid clothes for professionals.
Staff are also great. Within a minute of my first entering the store the counter girl came over and suggested two shirts that fit great looked great for me.
Pricey for vintage clothing, but still definitely worth it. -

This store was kind of out of my price range, and was not as kawaii as I had hoped. The people in the store were super nice, but it was too sophisticated-looking to be actually kitschy. Another reviewer said they get new shipments in on Thursdays, so I'm thinking (hoping) I just went on a bad day.

Kawaii mecca! A good place to stop for all types of adorable Japanese gifts like stationery, stickers, and accessories. I picked up an Alice in Wonderland-inspired shopping bag here which I get complimented on it all the time. There's also a vintage clothing and shoes section which seems to have some quality (but sometimes expensive) items.

I love vintage stores and I love japanese style, so this store makes me very excited. The accessories were the highlight of this store for me. Although they had a lot of vintage clothes, the price and variety wasn't outstanding. I did pick up a nice black leather wallet for $20 and an adorable silver necklace with a bow charm. If you like cuteness, you need to stop by this shop.

I love this place - cute clothes, amazing postcards/stationary, designer goods - I could buy so much so this place is very dangerous to me. Everything in this store is kawaii inspired - very cute, very Japanese. The people who worked in the store were nice and helpful too :)

This is a fabulous place to shop for gifts. They have a ton of beautiful, handmade cards and kitschy knickknacks with French sayings. (Because, you knows, canvas bags just seem fancier when the quotes on them are in French!)

Such a great find. Amazing items from Japan at great prices. Real Japanese work boots. Great shop for men which is a rare find.

this shop is so adorable! the selection is very well curated, they have some great finds there (mint condition yves st laurent dress for $88? seriously? still out of my price range, but nice to know it exists). last time i went i picked up some cute lavendar sunglasses (i'd been hunting for a pair for the longest time, these are fun and were only $28) and a cute little victorian-styled animal print on an embossed tin background (ten bucks!). there's a little art space in the back too, which is cool, and the two girls who were working there were so sweet and cute and perfectly styled. oh and the category says women's clothing, but they definitely have several racks of men's clothing too, and handkerchiefs (including by vivienne westwood) and cufflinks and such.
highlights (for me) would be the art pieces, earrings, dresses, handkerchiefs, and pins. i was less impressed with the shoe collection, but i also didn't get to spend that much time browsing their stuff, can't wait to go back!
