I took my family to Abe's after Christmas shopping.  Everyone was worn out.  The restaurant was warm and inviting.  The service was very personable and timely.  The food was excellent.  I am gluten intollerant and I had some great choices on the menu.  My wife and young kids really liked their dinner also.  We left feeling great.
My only complaint is that coming from the South on Wads, or from 285, it is hard to get into their parking lot.  It is a city thing.  I recommend going through Rusty Bucket parking lot.
    It is worth the hassle.

Wow. I wish there was a no-star option as 1 star seems way too much for this place.

Went here for brunch and was already a little put off by the cold service we received. The (very limited) menu seemed reasonably priced...until we were actually served the food.

I assume their special ingredient must be cold grease. Seriously, I have had better food at a hospital cafeteria. The breakfast croissant I ordered did not even come with the few things it said was included on the menu. I might have pointed this out to our server had he even once come back to see how our food was.

I might not have even cared if I'd had  a few more of the NINE dollar mimosas.

What a total waste of time and hard earned money. Cannot recommend under any circumstances.

    Will NEVER be back.

So, this place has been open for a while now, which in my opinion means it's survived and is somewhat good.  Well, I have mixed feelings about that.  The setting was nice, subdued lighting with light at each table so you can actually see what you were eating.  The staff was very nice and the menu was complete with good selections and variety.  The food was so-so.  I don't understand why french fries are so hard to cook from scratch, what's hard about cutting an actual potato and frying.  Granted, this isn't a known burger and fry joint but was disapointed in the undercooked frozen fries.  On top of that, my dad got a chicken gyro and don't think the chicken could be drier.  Is chicken supposed to crumble when picked up with a fork?  Not sure, but not appitizing.  They are trying to do their best, I feel but I personally don't think I'll go back.

The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because the restaurant was ridiculously slow (us and one other family in the whole place) which made it a tad awkward, and because of our waitress, who was very nice, but it was obvious that she was bored out of her mind, being as she had nothing to do.

I was very surprised that the restaurant was so empty, I have been to downtown Littleton location dozens of times and it was always busy. Beyond that, the food was amazing. Everything was made perfectly, even the pita bread was super fresh and toasted to perfection. We were both very confused as to why the place was dead. I really hope business picks up, we will definitely be back!

We too had been waiting a long while for this place to open. It smelled pretty good when we walked in. We perused the menu and decided to stay, although the menu's lack of focus should have been a warning. The selection is heavy on sandwiches and is more like a deli, but there also are pizzas and Greek food plus an average selection of American cake slices for dessert.

We had a "choose three items" appetizer sampler with dolmas, spanakopita, and baba ghanouj. The baba ghanouj was bitter with no taste of garlic, but there was plenty of it; some salt helped cut the bitterness. The spanakopita was okay. The dolmas were a revelation, however -- delicious, the best I ever tasted, and the high point of the meal.

My son ordered the Texas chicken sandwich -- I know, this is a Mediterranean cafe? --  but what the heck, it sounded intriguing. It's a grilled chicken breast topped with pastrami, melted cheddar, and barbecue sauce on excellent French bread. I thought the barbecue sauce overwhelmed the other flavors, but my son thought it was pretty good. It certainly disappeared quickly. He also got fries ordered crisp and delivered as ordered. They looked like frozen fries and were about average, not bad but nothing great.

I had a gyro which featured very bland meat. Other than the veggies, the main taste was saltiness. Fortunately I like salt, but I like more flavorful meat. It was...okay.

The decor is crispy clean and rather sterile with overbright lights and not enough heat. Our waitress was cheerful, friendly, and attentive. Prices are reasonable. My son said it strikes him as the kind of place that becomes an old people's hangout. Unfortunately, I agree. I had been hoping for a warm, lively bistro instead.

The couple at the next table had ordered a pizza which looked and smelled pretty good. We may have to try that, especially since there are some interesting combos.

I hope the menu turns out to have a few more stand-out items like the dolmas. Unfortunately, even if it does, I don't know if anyone will have the patience to pick them out among all the average stuff.

I have been driving past this place for months and finally they open! Sadly, not with it all together. Maybe it was their opening night, but it was very chaotic, with the hostess, servers and in the kitchen. Most definitely a family run business. But you know what, the hummus and chicken kabob I got were yummy and this place is cheap and close to where I live. Decent Greek dinner at a decent price, we probably won't go back til they work all the kinks out though.
My fav: tons of extra pita for only 50 cents!

This has to be the worst meal I have ever eaten in my life.

We were so happy that another non-chain restaurant was within driving distance.  We couldn't wait to try it.

Upon arrival, the hostess seemed friendly and we were seated.  We looked at the menu and ordered an appetizer- hummus and pitas.  Eh.  I ordered a chicken soulvaki platter and my husband ordered greek steak dish (I don't remember what type).

When my dish came out, I couldn't believe what was on my plate.  First of all, it's not real chicken.  It looked and tasted like synthetic chicken.  Both of our meals were room temperature.

Out server came back literally two seconds after we started eating and asked if we wanted dessert.  We hadn't even finish our first mouthful.

I didn't even finish half of my meal.  For synthetic chicken, it was overpriced.  For room temperature meals, it was overpriced.  The whole experience was overpriced.

    We will not be returning.

I like the food. It's usually not too busy so food is quick. Last time I was there I ordered a caprase salad and instead of basil (a key ingredient) they tried to pass off dill. When I inquired they told me they were out of basil. Wouldn't it have been easier to just tell me that from the get go? And you probably would have been better off trying to pass a bay leaf as basil than dill. The salad was not taken off the bill. Other than that this place is pretty good.

I had a very nice experience at Abe's. The place is bright and sunny. The wait staff was SO friendly. The owners came over to check on us and make sure all was well. I ordered soup and salad. The salad was very nice and the soup -- "Mama's Lemon Chicken Soup" was delicious. I usually get that and an order of the Dolmas. I hear the soup is their Mama's recipe (which I want!) and she still goes in to make some of the Mediterranean specialties every day. It's a nice family-owned business (which we should all support these days!) I found the prices to be reasonable. A very nice place for lunch. Oh, and the kids in our group were treated very nicely.

The place could stand to be a little brighter and cheerier, like the one in downtown Littleton, though. But still, it's a nice place for lunch.

I ate there for lunch with my father. It wasn't super busy, which is always a concern, but after sitting down we were greeted by a very friendly waitress- she immediately made us feel at home. The hummus plate is really good. Not the best I have ever had, but very good. I had the Chicken Gyro sandwich which was very tasty indeed. All the ingredients were very fresh, including the very large pita was warm and yummy. I will definitely return.

The decor is very basic and if you like typical diner-style ambiance, then you will enjoy it. One thing I did not dive into was the dessert cooler...although everything in it looked amazing! Including the homemade baklava. Next time..for sure.

The boyfriend and I wandered in here one Saturday to try out the gyros.  I can't speak for the rest of the food, but the gyros were fantastic.  Huge (as in I'm not sure if I finished half) and deliciously tender lamb/beef combo.  The tzatziki sauce was so good I didn't really even miss the feta, which was avaiable but not worth it at $1.25 extra.  The coleslaw that I had with mine was delicious and not-mayonaisse-y, and boyfriend said that the potato salad tasted homemade.

I can't speak for the rest of the menu but it looked like the had some good options (spanakopita, etc.).  For a cheap and filling lunch, I'd definitely recommend this place.

A little pricey but always delicious. They have that cheese, I forget what it's called....... that they set on fire and yell O-PAH! I don't know it's a Greek thing. Wicked tasty. You can't go wrong with the menu. Seriously. Throw a dart. You will not be disappointed.

Blah!!!!   We had a horrible experience at Abe's.  It used to be a Village Inn and still feels exactly like one,  except it was way too bright and WAY too cold.  I would have bet money that they didn't even have the heat on in there or it was set to like 55, can you even set a thermostat that low?  Seriously, I had to put my jacket on.

Service took FOR-EV-ER, actually that isn't entirely true, she was quick to take our order and then that was it.  We ordered three sandwiches and an order of fries and it took about 30 minutes. We had to ask someone other than our server for ketchup because we never saw her again, still didn't get any and had to get up and get it ourselves.    So yeah the fries, you have to order those separate. Who ever heard of a kids meal that didn't even come with fries?  And $2.00 for a little paper basket of fries?  What a rip off.  PLUS our food was cold.  Yes, cold, perhaps it was actually room temperature but since it was so freaking cold in there that means cold.   Speaking of the food....it sucked.  My gyro was edible but well let me put it this way, I can get a better one at the mall.  The kids shared a grilled cheese sandwich that was disgusting.  It was on wheat bread and the cheese was all congealed and plastic like.  My husband had a meatball sub and it was tiny, overpriced and the meat balls were colder in the middle than the sandwich was in general.

To sum it up the atmosphere uncomfortable, the service was horrible (people actually walked out) the food was not tasty and COLD and they don't even sell alcohol which could have made it at least somewhat tolerable.

Do yourself a favor, skip Abe's.

Congratulations Abe's! You got your liquor license! Is that extra star because of the glass of red Makedonikas wine that accompanied my dinner? Well... not solely. They've updated their menus (they went from paper to encased plastic with nicer font and descriptions of their meals, new and old). The munchkin enjoyed his pizza and Best Friend seemed to enjoy his. I ordered hummus and a greek salad because I wanted a light dinner. The pizza and salads had were strongly infused with oregano, but I was impressed. There are many things that can go wrong with an excess of oregano, but they pulled it off. Kudos, Abe's, on stepping it up.

THIS place is AMAZING! Prices are great and the quality is astounding! I am Cuban and thought I would try the Cuban Sandwich, HELLO PERFECTION! The Cuban sandwich is now the ONLY thing I order, just because it is hard to get a good Cuban Sand. this far away from Ybor City or Miami! I also love the Baba Ganoush! I am a huge hummice fan and this is even better! Their Peta tastes so fresh! Everything I've tried here is spot on! I am NEVER diapointed! Wish there was one in east Denver.

I love this place! We've been there 4 times now and I'm still happy with the place. The food is fresh and tasty. The hummus is so creamy and delicious. The service that we've had has been pretty decent: friendly, eager to please, and attentive.  We've only been there during slow times (maybe 3 or 4 other tables with customers) so I can't say how the service is during the busy times. We bring our two-year-old and she shares our plates and loves it. I do agree, the kid's menu is a bit pricey for not very much. But everything else is well priced. Overall, I'm very pleased with Abe's.

Yum...we pigged out. Spent over $50 for lunch, cause we couldn't decide what to choose.

I've been waiting for a place like this close to home. Exactly what we needed, great food that reminds me of what I used to get in home town.

    Great Beer & Wine selections.

Can't wait to go back & try some more!!!

We never tried Abe's before so I thought it would be nice to order take out on a busy day!

Buyers Beware! I ordered off of a menu that I picked up at this establishment about 2 months ago-  All of their prices have increase per plate about $2.50 and when I called I was not quoted my final price. A one flat bread falafel sandwich was close to $8. They claimed the Spannakopita was larger, but I ask you, larger then what? I would not of wanted to see it before. I can buy an entire tray of them at Whole Foods for $5. With the sampler appetizer plater we got one. Also, all bread is white, no other options.

If you call in an order, ask for the price before you buy, or go to Whole Foods and pick up a few chosen Mediterranean items, you will get allot more for you money.

My husband and I just ate there last night. It was GREAT! We have been there a few times before and has consistently been getting better from the first time we ate there. We get the Gyros plate and it was really good! We also had the Dolmas for an appetizer and they too were really delicious. I hope you will give them a try. They are a family restaurant and it seems they have a had a turnover in wait staff for the better.

I/we ate here a few weeks back and it was horrible. I had the gyro sandwich and when the waitress asked if we wanted salad or fries I assumed she meant it was part of the meal, like most Greek/Med places. The food was mediocre and had very little flavor. I was actually glad when the meal was over so I could leave. I ended up getting a stomach ache later. When we got the bill it was over $10 a person, I don't think what I ate was worth $5. I fact I would prefer McD's and I avoid McD's. I will never, and I do mean never, return to this place.

Ok so I came back! I love their baba ganoush and we were taken care of immediately and treated very well. They first said the baba ganoush to go included pita bread, then when we got it -  said it didn't. We were disappointed and either the owner or manager got it for us right away. We left happy and enjoyed the good food at home.

When Abe's first opened a while back, it seemed like it really took some time for them to work the kinks out. The food was okay, the atmosphere left a little to be desired, etc. Over the last few months, though, I've seen some really great changes. They've done some remodeling, which has really warmed up the atmosphere and makes it feel a little more like a Greek restaurant instead of a weird sandwich shop. They recently got their liquor license and have a really nice selection of Greek wines. The menu has been redone and more focused on Greek cuisine instead of being a Greek and American mis-mash like before. I highly recommend the daily specials as they seem to be tastier and a better value than some of their other entrees. The lamb is fantastic!
