Review from Eric J.

As the owner of Washington Electric when one of my service vans goes down it's a big deal. Each day that vehicle is out of service is lost revenue and somebody is sitting at home waiting to get back to work.
The Chevy Express with 79k miles started acting up on a Sat Evening at 7:30....Wouldn't go into 3rd gear or reverse. Instantly I knew a needed a professional to get it fixed.
I'll be honest; I didn't have a regular transmission shop that I had used in the past. I had some references to a three different shops. They were all closed for the weekend so I went online. The only shop that had very many reviews was ABC Transmission....I found about 25 on Google Places. I actually read almost all of them. There were a couple reviews that were bad, but all the rest were really good and many of them talked about how HONEST the shop was. One of the bad reviews didn't even seem realistic, and by the time I was done reading I wanted to do business with these guys.
I had a full schedule for Monday, so on Sunday Evening still not having talked to anyone at ABC, I dropped the vehicle off at ABC and slipped my keys into the key drop with a note. Not having even been there before I felt better once I got there....the building was nicely painted from front to back, top to bottom, there were uniforms hanging in a window, the shop floor was really clean, it seemed legit. I was a little nervous but I needed the vehicle running again soon.
I called first thing Monday and they got me in the same day for a diagnosis. It was not good news, but $3200 for a transmission on a Chevy Express was competitive, and they gave me some options to upgrade the transmission to prevent future problems. Robert was great to deal with, gave clear explanations of what I needed, why, and the exact costs. Their timeline was to be done by Thurs or Friday. I was super shocked to get a call from Mark (the owner) letting me know that the vehicle was done EARLY! The total bill was just what they told me it would be...no surprises. Since my schedule was difficult, they arranged for me to pick up the vehicle after hours, and again there were no problems. The vehicle is working great. I am super satisfied customer. I highly recommend these guys. Price is competitive, service was fantastic, honest work, I have full confidence that if there is any problem they will stand behind their work.
These guys delivered and get five stars. Thanks for making my problems go away -

I am kind of surprised there are no reviews on this one. I decided I would lead the way, even though it's been a couple years since I had my car fixed and don't remember all the minor details.
I had a 1997 Mercury Sable and it started having a transmission leak. I had it checked at AAMCO and I was told it would be somewhere in the range of...(sit down!)...$3000 to fix!!! I gasped and said the car wasn't worth that much and I had planned on trading it in in about six months. He almost laughed at the thought that the car would run that long! He politely reminded me that the car was financed for around that and that I would still have to pay off the car. He also politely scared the S*** outta me by reminding me that if I didn't service this car YESTERDAY that it was gonna blow and I would owe a hefty amount of money on a car that didn't run! OUCH! I told him I didn't have the money and he politely mentioned that they have financing available. I never thought I'd say this but...Thank you little tiny baby Jesus for my horrible credit! I probably could have been suckered into paying it!!!
Instead, I had a second opinion at ABC. The issue was some hose or something like that. It was not made anymore so the tech made it himself, saving me a hefty penny!!! They were really good at explaining exactly what was wrong with the car and I felt confident that they knew what they were talking about. They even drove the car to see if it was doing what the vulture at AAMCO "experienced". Needless to say, it seemed pretty symptom free...other than the leak. I don't remember how long it took but I know it was a day or two. Bottom line -- I was out the door for around $200.
I also recommended this place to a friend and they took good care of her too.
BTW, I bet you're wondering if my car ran for another six months. No, it ran for over a year until I traded it in for a bigger, newer car. I would be willing to bet AAMCO's business license that it still runs today!!!
Also, I didn't give it five stars because I really don't remember all the details of the service. It seemed like it took a while but I think I had it in over a weekend, and maybe even a holiday weekend. I just don't remember. Regardless, a rating of 4 stars is pretty good of me to give someone who touches my car. I would usually give them negative stars...if I could! -

HIghly recomend! I always seem to just pop up in person and they are always reassonable with time. they are much more affordable than most others. They always cater to my needs weather it be schedual, quotes, and any other thing that I seemed to worry about. Friendly service and no bullshit run-around additional problems everyone else seems to bring up that need to be fixed to raise up the cost. My only disapointment is they dont do exhaust.
