I have noticed in recent years that ABC News on a national basis is no longer journalism. It fails to cover national events. It is more of a soft media outlet kind of like People magazine. This is no reflection on the local channel ABC News which i think is good.
A perfect example is the several recent stories on ACRON which ABC missed all together. The Census bureau had already severed ties with ACRON and the Senate had voted to cut off funding to ACRON before ABC news even recognized that there was a story.
Maybe the days of network news are over since CNN and other news outlets have come on the scene.
