This is a great little specialty liquor/deli. The sales peps are always helpful, especially when it comes to their wine selection. If you ask for recommendation they'll always come through, trust me. They also have a great selection of booze you won't find most places; so if you're looking for something particular there is a good chance they'll carry it. Lastly, try their deli sandwiches, YUM!

They don't have the best sandwiches around, for sure. Their lettuce is head lettuce and for $8 subs, i expect quality leaf lettuce and choice of bread. what you're stuck with here is a french roll. This was my first visit and my last....
Stick to selling wine and alcohol. You're not a deli. -

Friend: So how can we ease this guilt you're carrying around?
Me: *shrug*
Friend: I know! BOOZE!
...and so began my Friday night, in a meager attempt to drown my sorrows after a very difficult week, both personally and professionally.
Good friends will have a drink with you, REAL friends will buy you your booze and then hold your hair back so it doesn't get in the way of your sick.
ABC has been right under my nose for a few years now. I usually just make a stop at 'ghetto' Vons next door, which is more like a big liquor store than a place to buy groceries. (By the way, Vons currently closed for remodeling.)
So ABC has everything alcohol-related that a girl could wish for. Mixes, gin, vodka, wine, glassware, etc......it's all here. There's even an extensive collection of premium liquor behind the counter if you want to buy your boss some expensive scotch or somethin'
The real star here is the help behind the counter and the owner if he happens to be in. Darn!! I can't remember his name!!! But he hosts monthly wine tasting trips up to Santa Barbara for about $125 per person. The cost includes transportation (wine served during the ride up so you're already toasted when you arrive!) a tour & tasting or a few vineyards and even some special VIP extras like meeting the winemakers etc..... He was so friendly, I wanted to board a bus right then and there.
I got on their mailing list and the next time I need to drown my guilt and sorrow I'll come to ABC. -

I agree with what the other reviewer said they do have a nice variety... surprisingly so. As my friend is getting used to his new area we went in search of a "nice" liquor store and was referred here by the Dude that works at the "Secret Spot" in Huntington Beach. *BTW have I mention that is a MOST excellent place for all things YUMMY? =]
Anyhoo so we took the drive down PCH cut over to 2nd street found ABC and it isn't fancy it's a rather large old building with a gentleman that works the counter that know his stuff and very friendly. The prices are what you should expect from ANY neighborhood liquor store...
Which brings to mind my peeve with neighborhood liquor stores you usually go to them because you ran out of something at home or you just want to run out and GRAB something and they have a better selection than the grocery stores. I would advise this to you all that live in this area go to BevMo they are about (on average) $5.00 less expensive and their selection is just as extensive. Now of course if you have already been sippin... this is NOT an option (as it maybe a long walk) LOL In that case ABC would work just fine.

This place is an excellent old school LB "Liquor Deli". Great beverage selectiong from beers and spirits, but especially wine! They know what they are talking about.
I go here for the excellent Italian Sandwich on a roll (others are great too)! A small feeds 1 plenty, and a large feeds 2 good. It's that italian dressing he puts on there that makes it soo nice... Grreat prices, Mr. Sub maker is always nice and friendly...
Just order your sub first, get your little paper tab from Mr. Deli and burn some time searching for a bevarage and chips. Bring your tab, drinks, and chips all up to the register and by then your sandwhich should be perfectly waiting for you at the deli counter. Head over to the beach lot on the south side of the aquarium (across Chucks), toss a quarter into the meter and enjoy an ocean view while noshing. Can't beat that... i love my city.... -

in the mood for some deli food the bf and i headed down ocean blvd looking for a beach side sammie locale. along came abc. first off, lemme say abc looks like a great wine purchasing shop, as it's filled with bottles boasting price tags anywhere along the lines of $5 to $800. secondly, the deli is located off to the side...and business didn't seem to be bustlin today.
i ordered the italian sub, while the bf opted for the hot roast beef dip. both were yummy. mine was regular sized and cost $5.99 which includes any salad side (potato, anti pasto and pasta are a few of the choices).
i enjoyed the dining experience and i'm sure my bf did too. we'll return for the reasonable prices and yummy sammies but the service leaves something to be desired. -

my boyfriend and I came here today after hours and hours of driving around town looking for the perfect deli sandwich. Tired and weary, we walked into ABC to be greeted with rows and rows of wines and liquors, and a deli case displaying some fineass-looking meat. The old-fashioned style menu board (black backgrount, white moveable letters) isn't much to look at at first, but the sandwiches are absolutely delectable. Prices are reasonable, with a regular sized-sandwich at $4.99 and a large at about $6.49, but the sandwiches are mammoth and stuffed with all fresh ingredients. I got a hot pastrami and he had the ham and turkey. My sandwich wasn't piping hot, but there was so much food on it I didn't even care. The ham and turkey, however, was the BEST deli sandwich I have had in a long time-maybe even ever! As a self-proclaimed sandwich connossieur, I wholeheartedly support ABC Fine Wine 7 Spirits. Even though it is pretty far from any of my regular routes, I anticipate making many more trips back.
