ABC has the best prices. Period. Service is great also.

In the last year I have bought the following from ABC: range, fridge, dishwasher, washer and dryer. All are working great.

Abe definitely had the best selection of counter depth fridges in the city.

If you don't see the model you want, ask him and he will quote a price and order it for you. We did this for our range and he beat all the prices of all the big box stores.

He didn't have the washer and dryer we were looking for but had a couple models he sold a lot of which were cheaper and consumer reports top picks. He threw in the stacking kit for free which nobody else would do.

His delivery guys did a great job with our stairs. Delivery is free if you order 2 items.

There is no reason to buy appliances anywhere else in the city.

edit: Also, they have been fantastic in helping with the process of getting rebates for our new efficient washer and dryer.

This place is not consistently lower in price as compared to big box stores.  Took four weeks for my appliances to arrive, resulting in my remodeling project to be delayed by 2 weeks.

Nobody beats Abe's prices.  This place is totally old school but hey its the appliance business.  If you are looking for high end(Bosch etc.) go to CG Appliance in Daly City.  But if you are looking for standard brands then ABC beats everyones prices including the box stores.

A few weeks ago during the heat wave, our fridge/freezer suddenly up and stopped working.  Nothing is worse than buying $100+ in groceries and have it all go rotten within one day.

On Friday, my husband took some time off work and we headed to Home Depot because of their large selection.  We needed something fast and they were the most likely to have it.  We were limited to choosing a 28" wide model unless we wanted to do last-minute extensive renovations on our kitchen and go without a fridge/freezer even longer.  That just wasn't going to happen.

Well, apparently the 28" wide models are not very popular.  We asked about THREE different brands & models and the earliest one would be able to be delivered was 2 weeks!  Unacceptable.

My husband and I returned home and mused about what to do.  We searched on-line but the earliest anyone would be able to delivery anything was 4 days.

Thank God for Yelp.  I did a search for appliance stores in San Francisco and came across ABC Appliances.  They had great reviews, they were nearby, and they were open on Saturdays!

We headed over there as soon as they opened the next morning.  We were pleasantly surprised to find that their prices were slightly less than Home Depot's.  They had a 28" wide in stock but it had a dented door.  No problem; they offered to switch the door off the floor model with the new-in-box model.  They did it while we checked out.  Perfect.  We were in & out of the store in 20 minutes!

They said they'd deliver in 3 hours.  Were we dreaming???  Apparently not!  They were at our house about 10 minutes shy of 3 hours later.  They hauled our old fridge out, hauled the new one in, and were gone within 10 minutes.  Very professional, friendly guys.

ABC Appliance knows how to do it.  When I told my husband that I was going to write a Yelp review, his response was "Yeah, ABC rocks!"

BIG thumbs up!

I've never set foot in the store, but just received a delivery of a brand-new washer and dryer set from these guys, courtesy of our new landlord.

The guys arrived on time, and assessed the narrow path through our hundred-year-old narrow backyard door.  After doing some additional measurements inside the house, they determined that they would have to remove the backyard door in order to get the washer and dryer through to our back porch.  Which they did.  They moved the old machines underneath the back staircase, per our landlord's instructions, and replaced our backdoor.

They were professional, friendly, efficient, and very expeditious.  Fantastic service.

When we are finally homeowners, and in need of household appliances, we'd definitely check this place out first.

Good service, inexpensive products, and a smart staff - what more could you ask for?

Price: Extremely competitive on most items, but if you go at the right time you can save a tremendous amout of money (ex. right now you can get a stainless steal microwave/fan/hood 250, GE stainless steel 25 cubic foot refig. with ice and water, $1200). Amazingly this store does no advertising, yet it competes with lthe big guys like Lowes and Home Depot.

Selection: Stoves, dishwashers, refrigerators, washers, dryers, microwaves, and hoods. ABC Appliance carries most major brands such as GE, Whirlpool, Kitchen Aid, Amana, DCS, Hotpoint, Magicchef and Kobe.

Staff: The owner, Abe, is the only worker in the store. He has been in business for over 50 years and knows more about appliances than anyone in the city. He is extremely helpful and will guide you in the right purchasing direction even if it means less money for him.

Overall: The only place to buy appliances in SF.

This is the place to buy appliances in San Francisco.

The owner is super helpful--if you want help. On my first visit, I was on a fact-finding mission--just wanted to see what ovens and fridges they had and what they were charging, and that was no problem at all. I wandered the store and poked around at models completely undisturbed. (Try that at Sears--those sales people jumped on me so fast, no matter how many times I told them I didn't need help I ended up fleeing the place.) When I came back to ABC with questions, the owner had great answers. He knows his stuff.

Their prices are better than I've seen anywhere. The delivery/installation went great. We're thrilled with the new stove and fridge, and will go back to ABC if/when we ever need a new dishwasher or anything else.

Abe wore a little knit cap like he was part of Team Zissou (but blue, not red). His hearing is getting weaker, but the brain is not! He was telling us the BTUs of every range we asked about. (How does he remember all those numbers?)

One Whirlpool range we were eyeing was selling for $875 and he offered free delivery. I checked out the website and the MSRP was $1039 and Costco sells it online for $899. A Kobe range hood he recommended to us was 20% lower than online.

it's true I love a good deal, but I also love knit hats. 4 stars for Abe not giving a damn and wearing his beanie at work.

Recently purchased a 4k worth of appliances and it was definite cheaper than on line prices. I used US appliance as a comparison.

The only slight negative are the hours.  Closing at 4 pm M-F makes it really difficult to get there during the week.

Good old Abe from ABC Appliance has been running this business for over 50 years! Could you believe that he was the main competition for Sears back in the 70's and 80's? The store itself has a nice display room and show case. They have mid line ranges, stainless steel fridges, front load washers and dryers that stack on each other, and all your other house hold major appliance needs!

The prices are moderate, and the delivery service can be fitted into your hectic schedule. I purchased a new fridge and stove, and received a discount (FREE SHIPPING). Removing the old ones cost money, but those things are pretty expensive to get rid of! You do have the option of removing the old one and relocating it downstairs for free though which is what most people are doing anyways (because PG&E takes them back for free). So stop by your local hardware store!

Loved the price,  store, and Abe.  Low-key, stuffed, and very mom-and-pop feeling.

I came  in looking for a front-loading washing machine, and Abe told me  that the following week he was getting six of a top Consumer-Reports-rated model in.  The price was $400 less than what CR said was list.

I came back the next week and bought the machine in five minutes.  Abe quoted and I agreed with a reasonable delivery/installation fee, and Abe said they could come out that afternoon.

Very wonderful so far.

Unfortunately, the 20-something droids that delivered the machine started moaning as soon as they got out of the truck.  I have a simple, open  garage set-up on level land, but they found fault with the tight working space and claimed that they would have to charge me $30 more to temporarily move the drier to fit the washer in (this involved simply moving the drier out of the way).

I kicked the kids out and refused delivery.  I called Abe who backed the delivery snots for about 30 seconds before agreeing to send another person out on Saturday (2 days away).  The second person came out and did the moving and installing in about 10 minutes.

Good, grungy neighborhood store.  Willing to order anything and charges competitively.  Just don't get the kids as your delivery boys.

I like shopping at local places, but I thought that Home Depot would be so much less expensive that I'd have to switch.  I was wrong: ABC was cheaper, the man working there had far more knowledge both of the range of products in his own store AND the range of products within each brand family.

Locally owned, less expensive and more knowledgeable staff.  Three for three.

call me crazy but i like to keep my money within my community. call me crazy but i like to buy shit at places where i can go back a few months later and still deal with the same sales person. call me crazy but i like to hear a difference response than, sorry thats not my department to questions i have. call me crazy but if theres a few percent difference in costs, id rather pay the higher price if that meant it went to a small business owner in our community.

that being said, crap me, theres hardly a difference in price, oh wait and your giving me a discount for knowing one of your guys? wait you hire local kids to work for you too? one of your guys is a life long buddy?

the owner abe seems like a a great guy. dont let his age fool you. i saw him work. knew all the codes by memory, knew where everything was in the back room...... I CANT REMEMBER WHAT I DID LAST WEEK.

buy local. support local small businesses.

I went to ABC appliance to get a fridge.  Having looked online I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for but when I got to ABC they didn't have it in stock.  No problem for me but when I went to talk to the owner he wasn't very helpful.  I was ready to buy right then but I wanted some advice on which of the models that were in stock to get.  When I asked if he had any suggestions I got nothing other than a suggestion that I should go online and look at the manufactures website.  He offered me a catalog to look at but commented that it was out of date and that all the models had changed.  To his credit, he did say that he could get pretty much any model that I wanted within a week or so but he didn't have much in the way of advice.  Since I've bought exactly one fridge in my whole life, I was really hoping for a bit more help than I got.

Don't get me wrong, the owner was nice but on a very basic level he wasn't helpful at all.  I didn't have much sense that he wanted either to help me or that he wanted my business.  As a small business owner myself, I don't see any reason that I should give my business to anyone who seems so uninterested in earning it.

Abe's been in business for over 50 years.  He knows his stuff if you have any questions.  He doesn't ever push a sale on you, and his prices are always below the bigger stores (best buy, sears, lowes, etc).
