We love Abby's Pizza. It's kind of "Old school" pizza in a world that has gone gourmet. You wont find shrimp and clam pizza's her, but you will find good ol' pepperoni, sausage, beef, etc...
It reminds my husband of Shaky's Pizza a place he went as a kid and for me that was "Sunshine Pizza" in Aloha. Just basic good pizza.
They PILE on the toppings (I like tomatoes on my pizza and usually get a single slice per piece of pizza, Abby's covers the entire pizza with fresh tomatoes. The crust is crisp but not burned and they have a decent salad bar. They also have get it your self ranch and condiment (cheese/red pepper etc.) bar for the pizza which I love. It get crowded during traditional dinner hours so go a little early to get a table and your pizza quick. -

The Good: They open until like 11 PM, so that's something to count on. They have a lot of seating, a couple arcade games, and a salad bar. They also deliver.
The Bad: I ordered the deep dish. HA! Not quite Chicago-style. Too little toppings and too much dough. It was made with little to no effort. Also, the 7" pizza was about $10, so it's kind of pricey. They also do not have any wings.
Try: here once, I guess. If you really have to. If you really want good pizza, I'd suggest Domino's.
Don't Try: the "deep dish". -
Review from Samantha O.
Portland, OR
The allure of Abby's Pizza is childhood nostalgia. That and it's a regular locale for my now 6-year-old nephew's birthday parties.
Growing up in Southern Oregon, Abby's was the pizza party staple. We'd roll in after an orchestra concert or a soccer game and get stuffed to the gills on pizza, giddy on soda, and blow rolls of quarters on video games.
This Abby's isn't exactly what I'd been thinking of. See, I'm used to these round little potato fries. I couldn't recall the name of them and in trying to describe them said they were like fresh potato chips, but thicker and soft in the middle like french fries. But round. Maybe they're called cottage fries? But all that talk wound up being irrelevant. Turns out this Abby's has never served the potatoes of my dreams, because they're aren't a corporate location.
Oh. Ok. Well, then.
The pizza was perfectly ok. Just like I remembered it. I even really like the greek-style veggie pizza I got. But the large whole cloves of garlic were a bit too much, so I picked them off.
Bonus for grown-ups time? Mini pitchers of micro brews are only $7. And there is a video poker room. Sweet, screaming-6-year-olds escape, relief! -

We are a little torn on this one... Darby gives them 5 stars, but I only give them 3 stars. So we are averaging it with a 4.
The pizza is pretty good, definitely the best in the Newberg/Sherwood area, but not the best I've ever had. It's a set up nicely to meet up with a large group and they are open pretty late. I don't think the customer service is that great though and it's a bit pricey.
If you are in the area and craving a pizza, you should check out Abby's, but don't go out of your way to stop by. -

Gresham, OR
Though the toppings are plentiful, that only gets you so far in the pizza world. I must say I enjoy the pizza, but they are not too creative with it (can't dock them for being traditional I guess) and the pizza skins sure look and taste like frozen dough, pre-made. They pull it off well if that's the case, but still not anything to boast about. Papa Murph's or a wood-fired pizza from Red Hills Market will take you a lot further than Abby's.

St Charles, MO
We have tried many pizza places in Yamhill area and this is definitely the better of them. Salad bar is decent and pizza crust is nice and thin. They put cheese blend on pizza so if you want all mozzarella, you have to request it. Also, their garlic bread is rolls cut in half. Decent eatery. Ring my bells? No, but worth another visit, yes.

Review from Dan H.
Fresno, CA
This pizza place is a staple of Newberg. I remember when I was in high school, many major events that took place would spill over into Abby's. It is a great place that also makes pretty good pizza. As a Newbergian, Abby's carries a great amount of stigma with it. I would reccommend the place to anyone who lives near Newberg. However, Abby's pizza, though solid, can be beat by many places, not only in quality but in price. Though it is the best pizza Newberg has to offer, well, back when I lived in Newberg that is.
Abby's doesn't make the best pizza, and they're kind of expensive (Godfathers regular price expensive), but if you find yourself near Newberg, definitely partake in a local tradition. -

Abby's has some of the best pizza we have ever had. The crispy cornmeal crust is awesome and the toppings are plentiful. Overall, a great place for pizza!

Newberg, OR
My wife and I have always been fans of Abby's Pizza. It mostly reminded us of getting Pizza on the coast but when we moved to Newberg in the Summer of 2007, we were excited to learn that there was one located in town.
We have become regulars of Abby's when we lived in Gresham and the one opened on Division.
The Abby's in Newberg is great because it feels like a place where people sit down with their families to have a weekly out of the house meal.
We have made Friday night our pizza night and Abby's is the only place we go in town. We used to get their pepperoni pizza but since joining weight watchers have switched to the thin crust Hawaiian. All pizza are delicious. I also love the chicken fajita and the Abby's special.
Although there is better pizza out there (in Portland), we like going to Abby's because it is cozy and we love sitting next to the fireplace. I would say prices range from average to medium high. They also offer delivery but we enjoy eating at the restaurant.Listed in: My Neighborhood

Newberg, OR
Abby's is one of those localized pizza joints that have been around the Pacific NW forever. The pizza is OK, not outstanding but never bad. They are more then generous with the toppings, and the crust is good. The salad bar is merely OK, nothing fancy at all, it could use a serious update
It always seems like the place is run by kids under 20 years old, but I've always had pretty decent service. The have an open kitchen that allows you to watch them make the food. So, what makes this place special? The family atmosphere and the casual laid-back ambiance of a family pizza joint. The old-school style fireplace just puts the cherry on top. Abby's should update the arcade a bit.
If you are looking for OK pizza in Newberg, this or Ye Olde Pizza will satisfy your cravings. -

Awesome lunch deal gets you the salad bar, mini pizza of your choice, and unlimited fountain drinks for $6.50
The Abby's special is my favorite with pepperoni, salami, sausage, and mushroom. -

Stayed in Newberg while wine tasting the Willamette Pinots and was looking or a chill ending to the day. Found Abby's recommend on here and gave it go. While the Garlic chicken pizza sounded great it was by far the most repulsive pie I've ever had. It had so much pulled chicken on it, no cheese....
The salad bar was great though! -

They are a little steep in price for there pies, but the lunch special are a super deal. They always give you lots of meat!

Review from Todd W.
Sherwood, OR
I'm not going to say that it's the best pizza I've ever had, but it seems to be by far the best in the Newberg/Sherwood area. We usually get the meat pizzas and the pepperoni and canadian bacon slices are a little thicker than you get most places. We've also heard the taco pizza is very good, but I can't vouch for it myself.
It is a bit on the expensive side - about $22 for a large 3-topping.
