$6 burger night. I kept seeing it on Facebook, but this time it got my attention at just the right time and gave me some incentive to get out of the house instead of cooking dinner. $6 burgers? Seriously? At Abbott's Grill? That's a good deal for a Monday night.

It's not all the burgers, mind you - their bison burger runs $13.95 (I've had it several times, it's good) and they have a Black-n-Bleu Burger on the regular menu that's around $12. You're not getting those for $6. But their Classic Cheeseburger is usually $8.95, and you can get that for $6, plus the chef comes up with two special burgers each week. This week's were the "Flying Hawaiian" (Grilled Pineapple, BBQ Sauce, White Cheddar Cheese) & the "Homerun Howard" (Chili, Sour Cream & Mixed Cheese). We each had a "Homerun Howard" (without sour cream for him and with it on the side for me, I wasn't too sure about sour cream on a burger, and he doesn't like it at all) and they were pretty damn good.

And the $6 burgers came with steak fries. And there was fresh art on the walls since the last time we visited.

Great food and great atmosphere.  Definitely one of Milford's best.
The Crispy Calamari appetizer is delicious.
Food was real slightly heavy on the oil  but still great.
    Portion size is very good.
I wish they still had the Sunday Buffet Brunch.

Always Great!  We eat here on $6 burger night.  Expect some neat and good local produce and meats.  Great beer selection A+ atmosphere!!!  I have ate  quail eggs on top of filet Mignon with a frog leg appetizer on one trip and good old meatloaf on another.  The sky is the limit and the selection is sometimes for your adventurous side and everything in between.

We. love. Abbott's. I will offer disclosure on my stars...5 for Milford, but I would definitely still give it a 4 if it was a place in Boston. And since we're stuck down here for work, its great to have such a delicious option in town!

Food - delicious. The crab and artichoke appetizer is soooo good - serving it with warm baguette instead of pita or tortilla chips really adds something. Also, the chef prepared the calamari sauteed instead of fried in batter, as someone in our party had a gluten allergy, and it was PERFECT...buttery/garlicy/lemony goodness. Their "famous" frychos didn't quite live up to the hype, but they were as good as french fries covered in cheese and other nacho toppings can be. The dinners have also been consistently delicious - I've gotten the lobster mac and cheese (with truffle oil, sooo good), the crab cake meal, a variety of sandwiches...all delicious. I have no complaints on the food.

Drinks - great beer selection, and the old bartender Scott described them all with such passion...even went so far as to say one beer had an "approachable" after taste (not sure what that means, but hey, if he backs up his beer selection with unique descriptors, I'm a believer). They also introduced us to THE BEST shot of all time, the chocolate covered pretzel. Ask for it, you will not be disappointed. And on Thursdays, they have "ladies night" martinis for $5. Even though I was in a party with two males, the bartender let the men have the ladies night price...although they did get mocked for ordering a lemon drop martini.

Service - LOVE the service here. I've only ever sat on the bar side, so I don't know about the service on the restaurant side, but all the servers smile, offer great suggestions, and, as mentioned above, really believe in the product. Unfortunately, we discovered on our latest trip that Scott is gone, but we'll always remember the way that EVERYTHING on the menu was "rad" and a "solid choice".

In summary, go here. If you're from Milford, frequent here. If you're not, drive here anyway. If you're visiting on business, spend your company's money here. Seriously.

And to think that I had all but given up on Milford... As far as upscale dining goes in this town, we had Geyer's, The Executive, Smith and Co... all closed now. I honestly thought that there was no market in Milford for an upscale restaurant. Thank you, Abbott's Grill, for proving me wrong! As it turns out, Milford is very welcoming to fine dining--they were just waiting for somebody to get it right.

A friend and I ate dinner at AG recently, the first time there for both of us. At 8:00 on a Saturday night, the restaurant was busy, but there was no wait to be seated; the bar area was beginning to fill up as well. Our server was very courteous and helpful throughout the meal.

We began with drinks: a Blueberry Lemonade for my friend, and a Bald Jason (the house drink--definitely recommend trying it!) for me... both were delicious, reasonably priced and generous in size.

All of our dishes came in plentiful portions, and we were very satisfied. The Pear and Arugula salad was complemented by the perfect light dressing! The Crispy Calamari had a great texture, but I would have liked a bit less sauce on the plate, as it was tasty but somewhat overpowering. We couldn't resist trying the Apple Scrapple Flatbread out of curiosity. I really can't compare it to anything I'm familar with; it was unique but good. I might not order it again, but I'm glad I tried it, and I think it's admirable that AG capitalizes on this local tradition.

I am giving Abbott's Grill five stars because they have filled two voids in Milford (fine dining and New American cuisine), the service was great, and the food is simultaneously familiar, creative, and appetizing. I hope to eat there again soon!

My boyfriend and I traveled to the Eastern Shore for the Annual Horseshoe Crab Spawn 2 days ago and we sat here for dinner. The service was splendid and attentive. For starters, I had the Strawberry Arugala Salad which was lovely - light and acidic when combined with toasted pistachios and rhubarb. For dinner, my boyfriend had the Bison Burger which came highly recommended. It was dripping in juices, smothered in melted cheese, and dressed with fresh thick red tomatoes. The meat comes from a local bison farm in Delaware. The steak fries on the side were not anything special, but the burger wowed us. I had the French Onion Soup, and the onions were caramelized beautifully. The broth was thick and spicy.

All in all, we tremendously enjoyed dinner here. The food and staff were both stellar.

I have a beach  home just north of Lewes, DE and get to Delaware most every weekend all year long. Meals there typically take place in restaurants and I have several favorites. One of my favorites is Kindle in Lewes and it was there that one of the wait staff mentioned Abbott's Grill.  Finally decided to try it Saturday night, October 16th. Arrived about 8:00 PM to find a pretty empty dining room and an equally sparse bar. Waited a few minutes at the host stand after which  my dining companion and I were acknowledged by the host (dining room manager?). He proceeded to bus and reset a particular booth for us even though there were many empty tables and booths available. I surmised that the wait staff had been scaled back and that he wanted us in the closer's station next to another occupied booth. When the booth was finally prepared, we were seated where we languished for a good while. Finally I got up  and went to the bar and ordered and paid for our drinks. While waiting for the bartender to secure our drinks, she introduced a gentleman as the owner to her friends seated at the bar. It was obvious that I was dining in the dining room and that I was getting my own drinks from the bar rather than a server yet this somehow never registered with anyone including the fellow introduced as the owner. At the very least, I would have thought the owner might have suggested that someone take the drinks to the table for me. For the record, I would have politely declined but I think the gesture would would have gone a long way.

When I was returning to the table with drinks in hand, a very pleasant waitress appeared and apologized explaining that our waitress was very busy and she was going to step in. Not certain what the distraction  was given the empty dining room,  but I was glad to have some one waiting on us. The young woman who rescued us was engaging and attentive. She took us through the menu and we ordered.

I chose the French Onion with fennel soup to begin my meal. The broth was rich and the onions were perfectly caramelized. The croutons were covered with a great Manchego cheese. My partner had a spicy fried calamari dish served with Edamame and bleu cheese. He enjoyed it  but I thought it just a bit overcooked.

For an entree, I chose the Romano Encrusted Sea Bass over a vegetable ratatouille  with a fermented garlic aioli sauce. It was excellent but I found it odd that the aioli sauce was ice cold.  i get that it couldn't be warm or it would break down but tepid might be better than deeply chilled.

My partner chose the Pork Shank with Brussels Sprouts. He was very pleased with it and surprised that the Brussels Sprouts that the waitress had talked into were actually great.

We opted not have dessert and got the check. The check came to $70.00 before tip. That included one glass of wine (previous drinks were paid for at the bar) two appetizers and two entrees. I think it was a very fair price.

I think the restaurant would benefit from some dining room supervision. As we were leaving, we passed a bus person who said goodnight but no one else acknowledged us including the host/manager who was coming in from outside on his cell phone talking about his upcoming golf  game.

I mention this because there is obviously some talent in the kitchen and this is an ambitious undertaking. Success for them  will require a lot of attention to detail and I hope they soon focus on more than just the food. The dining experience for me consists of three elements: ambience; service; and the food. Right now the food is the star but that us not enough to sustain this restaurant. I hope they get the formula right. I would welcome a polished restaurant  in our area.

Had a fantastic meal here. Very upscale food uncharacteristic of the Milford area. Really not surprising since the owners have always been associated with the some of the best restaurants in the Rehoboth area. Surprisingly affordable with decent service. Has a hopping bar crowd too, but that doesn't interfere with the dining area at all. I'll be back!

Best dining in Milford!  I had the crab risotto which was the best risotto I've ever had.  Server was friendly and attentive and recommended a great glass of malbec.  Only place I will dine next time I return to the area.  Don't be put off my the strip mall location.

Great fresh food and amazing service! Good prices. Fine food and the portions are very generous, even for the kids and everyone just raved at how good the food was. Good atmosphere - fine dining but we went for lunch, a bit more casual. If you are near this restaurant in Milford, DE you must go. We happened to end up in Milford by accident and we thought it was the best mistake every since we found this excellent restaurant. We are still talking about how good the food was right from the start to the finish.

Hands down best "fine dining" in Milford.
A group of 4 of us went for dinner on Jan 1st and every single thing we ordered was delicious, including:  Romaine Wedge Salad, Crispy (and spicy!) Calamari, Pumpkin Gnocchi, Braised Lamb Shank, and Abbott's Pasta.  Two of us ordered steaks which we also gave good reviews on taste and how they were prepared.
We were too full for dessert, although they had quite a few that sounded great - the only thing I miss about the old tenant of this restaurant, Smith & Company, is their creme brulee cheesecake.

Abbott's Grill is a wonderful addition to a small town.  It is some kind of cousin to Nage in Rehoboth Beach, and the menu is both broader and more inventive than Nage, in my opinion, albeit after only one visit to each.

The Grill is located in an older strip shopping center, and don't let the location throw you off.  Inside it is large, with various spaces that feel comfortable.

The crispy calamari appetizer was the best calamari I have ever tasted.  The squid was only the beginning of the flavor blend.
Another great appetizer was the smoked tuna dip/spread.

Serve was attentive and the waiter was quite personable.

The restaurant name is a nod to a local landmark, Abbott's Mill.

Prices are reasonable, even for local folks.  We were surprised by our affordable evening out.

    This ain't Geyer's!
