Review from Sarah p.

An unexpected trip home in Autumn rendered a much needed trip to Abbott's (this afternoon!!)
I was crossing my fingers for it to be opened and DUH I never realized that this location is year round.
I forgot how big the servings are, ooops, I couldn't even eat half of what I ordered :( But it was DARN good, way better than the custard places I've been to outside of Rochester.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Jody G.
Most frozen custard comes out of a machine all twisty and twirled. It's just how it's done. But not at this place. Here it's hand scooped. And, it's DELICIOUS! The flavors change all the time, but there's always chocolate and vanilla (obviously) as well as chocolate almond (their signature flavor, I guess). I had a double cup.... half vanilla and half coffee oreo (!!!). The vanilla was so-so. Nice and creamy, but lacking in true vanilla depth. The coffee oreo was AMAZING! Great coffee base with HUGE CHUNKS of oreos. And those were REAL cookies, my friends! Not just the crumbs. YUMMY!

Twenty minute wait, not-so-friendly employees, and a stale ice cream cone. Definitely not worth the $3.50 for a small!

Great place to stop on Park Ave. Good Ice Cream. I had the Snickers sundae, and I'd do it again.

Before I moved to Rochester I had never heard of frozen custard.
Now it is what I live for in the summer.
This location is on the popular Park Ave. so it is always really busy on Summer evenings. Therefore, it is also usually messy and choatic. -

Oh... I'll never forget this place. I remember having Abbott's as a little girl growing up in Rochester. This is a classic place with fun and great unique flavors. Best custard! And always great service. I miss it!

I've been around the world and tried a lot of icecream variants, but somehow there is a void that can only be filled by abbotts frozen custard. I lament its absence from my west coast existence

Had to try this place since my fiance is from Rochester and her family used to own some Abbott's. It's a nice little walk up building where you can see their menu and flavors of the day. I got a small mint and chip and the thing was a very big portion for a small. We had to make sure we hit Abbott's up again before we left towm.

I don't mind frozen custard, but couldn't this town have some options other than Abbott's? This is a very popular location in the summer, and it seems to always be messy. I guess if I were more of a sweets/dessert person, I would enjoy this place more. But I'm not, and I don't. So there.

*sigh* I miss Abbotts in the summer. People in SF haven't even heard of frozen custard much less tasted it's loveliness. Yeah it can be crowded and messy, but, are you there for the atmosphere or some frozen custard? Try the chocolate!

I heart Abbott's. The pumpkin frozen custard is the best but all the flavors are excellent and made fresh in each location. The tables and chairs outside make this a great place to grab an ice cream in lieu of lunch and hang out in the sun.

If you are in Rochester and you do not stop here you are simply retarded. The best custard perhaps in the nation.
