Cant complain. We were having an extra large thanksgiving and needed additional table and chairs.
1 table + 5 chairs = $22
Easy pick up (day before) easy drop off (day after)
Very organized when you get there. Quick in and out!
Just want to say thank you and we will see you again to them!

Great things about Abbey:
* Very helpful customer service on the phone
* Accepted several last-minute changes (on the week of the event) without complaint
* Inexpensive prices on nice-looking folding chairs, glassware, etc.
* Delivery was more than half the cost of our order, but they didn't object or try to upsell us when we asked about picking up and returning the items ourselves. They were very helpful when the folks we dispatched got there.
Less great things:
* Delivery and pick-up on weekends can run up to $350. If you're running a small event, this can turn a fantastic pricing deal into a very expensive one.
* Like many other people here, we found a few critical items missing from our order. In our case, it was the garbage cans (for an outdoor event that had no other waste disposal). Our friends were kind enough to do some extra running around and help us fix the problem, but this isn't something you should have to worry about on your wedding day! (we could have avoided this by checking our order at the warehouse, but if we'd been paying for delivery we wouldn't have been able to). -

We used Abbey to rent tables, tablecloths/napkins, chairs, dishware, silverware, patio heaters, and a number of miscellaneous items for our wedding. I compared prices at three different rental companies and Abbey offered the best deal. Their staff was helpful and friendly (Fua is great!), and it was easy to make changes to our rental order before our event. We received one patio heater that didn't work, but they reimbursed the cost without any hassle. It was a bit of an inconvenience that we could not be informed of our delivery timeframe until the morning of the event, but the delivery was on time and fast (you can pay extra to have a set delivery time). All in all, good quality and bargain. I would use them again.

A last minute decision to rent hot water and coffee dispensers for a birthday party lead us to Abbey. On the fly they had what we needed at a pretty reasonable price. And like another reviewer said, its surprising that they are almost the only game in town for quick party rentals. I'm sure we could have found something else but when you're driving in a car, using your iPhone because you only have 2 hours to make a decision and pick something up, Abbey fit the bill. Unlike some other rental places we called, they have a store-front (well something like that) where you could go in and get it.
The staff there was super friendly, professional and quick. We went in as soon as they said they had the coffee makers, we got both hot water and coffee dispenser for a total of $35 for 3 days rental, and was out of there in less than 15 mins. Nice! I guess I could give them 5 stars but I just wasn't feeling their location. lol. Kind of an old facility, you can tell that its not their priority to have a nice store front for walk- ins. It's very basic, and kind of clean, but I couldn't tell. And though the address says "Daly City", to me, it's not Daly City. I consider their location Visitacion Valley/Cow Palace area. It's kinda borderline folks and tucked away in the hood, next to a See's Candies distribution warehouse. My recap:

I have to admit I was skeptical of renting from Abbey Rentals when I read the reviews on here but there aren't a lot of other rental places around.
We rented tables and chairs for our garage birthday party (hey, who says garage parties have to end after high school?!) and the two times that we rented from them everything came through as expected. The prices for the equipment were pretty good compared to another rental company I checked out and the pricing list is easy to download from their website.
The delivery fee is a little steep but who wants to lug all that stuff themselves?! Having them deliver everything made it so much easier. I rented for Saturday and they only charged for one day although they can drop off your stuff on a Friday and pick up on the following Monday.
The only inconvenience is that they can't give you a definite time for delivery/pick up, it's more of a time frame. Luckily, I had the day off on both delivery and pick up days. -

for the most part, Abbey is the only game in town so when my event came up again, I had to use them.
The phone person (Shannon) was really, really, really friendly.
Yet again..they showed up and didn't have 2 items we ordered. Only because I reviewed the order item by item did we realize it. Later in the day, when in unpacked the sliver, they had sent the wrong item. I'm now heading down to Daly City to get the replacements (why did I pay for delivery again if for the 3rd time in a row renting from them I have to go down to their facility?1 Previous Review: Show all »

We rented some stuff from Abbey Party Rentals for a holiday party a couple of weeks ago and were, for the most part, pretty satisfied with the process.
While they had everything in stock we needed, prices were a bit all over the map. Glassware at .50 each seemed a bargain, as did bar height tables at $9. But then tablecloths for said tables were $10.75 each and a smallish pop up tent was $75!
Communication was also a bit sketchy...I placed my order and was told that I'd receive an email confirmation. I never received a confirmation plus when I called two days before our event to check up they told me if I needed to cancel or change anything at that late date there would be a 30% restocking fee. This fee was never mentioned to me when I placed the order though I imagine it would have been on the confirmation email which I never received.
Luckily we didn't need to change anything and the party went off without a hitch due in large fact to the extra glassware, tables and tent that we got from Abbey. And an added bonus in regards to renting glassware: you can return them dirty! I'd recommend using Abbey for your next event but make sure you get straight answers before handing over your credit card info!Listed in: Clue me in....

Soooo my large work thanksgiving party was planned well in advance. We ordered 4 tables, 20 chairs and some linens for our lunch gig and the person on the phone who took the order said noooooo problem, they'd get the goods to us by 11 AM so we could setup for lunch.
11:45 the day of (today) rolls around.... no show from Abbey. I give them a call and the lady on the phone said we have it scheduled to be delivered between 1pm-3pm.
Hmmmmmm says I, the person on the phone that took the order said no problem before 11. What does the Abbey rep say? "Sorry, this is all the info I have and it will be between 1pm-3pm, nothing I can do". Hey, at least she said sorry..
After being placed on hold for an eternity nothing could be resolved, so a word to the wise: Abbey will gladly take your order with any specifics you need. Actually following through on those promises is a whole new topic. -

Thumbs DOWN! Organized a private curry event for a few hundred guests and since the venue did not have a kitchen, we ordered all of the supplies and utensils through Abbey to highlight the restaurants involved and present their curry inspired dishes.
After their late delivery, we noticed missing items that were essential for execution such as chaffing dishes and platters. We had a small buffet style set up but no way to serve food! You can't just dump curry into something without constant heat and how were our appetizers going to be presented without serving platters?!! The food was the most important aspect of this event and there was no way to skip out on these items.
They did deliver the hot box to store all of the food and keep it hot so after running around like a mad woman in rush hour traffic to Smart & Final, I was able to find the LAST few chaffing dishes and presentable platters for the buffet table in the nick of time.
$350+ later on the corporate card at S&F, I was highly disappointed with the delivery service and lack of organization with Abbey Rentals. When I called and b*tched out the sales rep during my rage she claimed there was nothing she could do because their drivers had already finished for the day. She offered to stay after hours at their location for me to pick up the missing items but since they were located in Daly City there was not enough time prior to the event start. Under no circumstances should the client be running around, picking up the missing pieces and making up for their mistakes....do not count on Abbey Party Rents for your occasion.
Thankfully luck graced me that night and the event was a still a success but of course..that's not the point!
P.S. the items that were not delivered were deducted off the bill and a discount was provided... a measly 20% after intense negotiation (which did not cover the amount we spent on our end to cover their mistakes) Grrr... -

I read other reviews before ordering from Abbey, but honestly, there aren't many choices in SF--or at least others that post pics and prices online. That was a huge selling point for me. It made choosing what I wanted very easy. The only thing that would have made ordering easier is if I could have done it online instead of over the phone.
Everything I ordered (tables, chairs, plates, linens, cutlery) arrived on the day intended and all accounted for. They also picked it up Monday morning as planned (AM was not guaranteed, but requested). It would be nice if they would be willing to guarantee a time frame, rather than anytime-that-day kind of thing.
I have hardwood floors and requested that all table legs and chairs be sure to have rubber feet, and they arrived as such.
I didn't comparison shop, because I figured it would take too much time and likely wouldn't save enough for the extra hassle. But the pricing seemed reasonable, especially since a Friday drop-Monday pick up only counts as one rental day.
I am giving 4 stars instead of 5, because in my perfect universe, I could order online and be guaranteed a 4-hour delivery window.
All in all, I was pleased with the friendly service (Fua Veu rocks!), and what I received was what I requested. Thank you for helping to make my family gathering a success, Abbey Party Rentals! -

Had to rent a temporary dining room while ours was being shipped from overseas. They have been SO CONSIDERATE with us in extending our rental... they've been GREAT. They even (expertly) tied the table to the top of the SUV when we picked it up. Couldn't ask for better service or nicer folks.

Newbies to the city don't realize that if they had someone to coordinate stuff like tables, chairs, tableclothes they could cut their production costs by 50 percent, instead of dealing with "Lortie" or whatevah the fug that imbecile was that could NOT get the correct number of chairs for the number of tables for our event.
I say use Abbey AND THEY are professionals with experience to back up their story. -

We use these guys at work to rent chairs, champagne glasses, table linens - they are very reasonably priced but sometimes you need to double check and confirm your booking...once I had to call them to ask where the hell our wine glasses were (they were an hour and a half late from the original delivery time at 9am) and they had booked them for the wrong date. Luckily, she was able to send them out right away and get them to me before noon.
They do have everything you need for your parties though, so I do recommend them. -

I've used Abbey services several times for both community and personal events. The staff is great and really helpful. Almost all of their inventory is listed on their website along with pricing. Their price quotes are surprisingly accurate and they do a great job of sticking to their time quotes for set up and tear down.

I was a little worried after reading some of the other reviews, but working with Abbey was seamless for my small party that included 60 guests.
I went in person to order because I wanted to see the various chair and table options. The lady I worked with was warm and friendly and helpful. We discussed various delivery options and she was very accommodating.
I called once to confirm my order and I spoke to a different person who also was nice, friendly and helpful.
My items were delivered the night before with no problem at all, and picked up the Monday after. -

It made our New Year's Eve party soooooooo much better to be able to drink champagne and other drinks out of real glass glasses.....but not to have to worry about washing them....or breaking our own goblets.
I want to remember to use them more often and next time maybe rent more stuff like a coat hanging rack. -

So far the communication has been a bit sketchy but since my wedding isn't until July I'm not yet pulling my hair out or anything. Other than that their prices and selection is great, its pretty cool that they have pics and prices online and most of the buisiness can be handled as such. Because my wedding is compleely DIY its important that I can get things in an appropriate time frame and they will allow us the friday before the wedding until the monday after at no extra charges at all, of course we will be picking up and dropping off ourselves though, as the delivery fees are kinda steep.

I'm surprised this is the first review! Abbey Party Rents have been around for a long time and I've had the pleasure of working with them while working for Tower Records and recently, the SF International Asian American Film Festival. Abbey is dependable on any event needs and are willing to custom make any setup. Though rentals can be pricey these days, talk to Abbey's President Rick Seramin, who can work out a reasonable deal for you (especially if you work for non-profit).

I read the other reviews but I actually had a fairly good experience with them. The website made things really easy to arrange and order what I wanted. I just showed up and loaded up my vehicle and that was that. I even had someone else do the return for me. The guys at the loading dock were even funny. One was all sad about Eartha Kitt's death [well, who wouldn't be?].

Although I was happy with the actual goods delivered the delivery and professionalism was on the weak side. They appeared at times other then the ones they told in the 1st place and they rang the wrong bell. Thank God I have some A+ neighbors who helped me out. They are also pretty pricey but I can't discount the fact that they did deliver what I wanted.

When placing my order I first spoke with a very helpful and friendly woman. But, when i called back again I spoke with an Alicia (unfortunately twice), all i got was huffing, puffing and attitude. She sounded as if i was bothering her, HELLO!! your job is to help your customers and not give snide remarks. I will definitely be speaking with upper management about using a different vender in the future and we do a lot of events.

Two weeks prior to the event, I reserved two tables and ten chairs. On the morning of the event, I arrived at 9:30 AM to pick up the items and guess out? "We just gave out the tables you wanted." In other words, they did not have the tables I reserved. They offered another type of table, but they wouldn't fit with the planned activity. I then got the chairs at a discount. I talked to my representative the day I returned the chairs and the feedback seemed to be that my reservation was completely ignored in favor of someone else. Maybe you need to do a large volume of business to get preferred treatment. (Or, get there early to pick up your order!)
My suggestion: Unless you've used them before and you're satisfied, try another vendor. There are other options. -

We used Abbey Rentals for our wedding in SF, and had absolutely no complaints! We had a pretty tricky setup (two different sites for the ceremony and the reception, tight deadlines for when we had to be in and out of the sites, and a number of other moving pieces) and revised the order several times, and our sales rep was fantastic and was never phased. Everything was delivered on time and in great shape, and looked really fantastic! Their prices are a bit expensive, but from what we saw, consistent with the competition in most cases. Definitely recommended!

My caterer called around to several rental places in the city for glasses, plates, and silverware and got the most competitive quote from Abbey. I called them to coordinate pick-up and delivery times and spoke to Rick, the manager, who was extremely accommodating. The delivery people were on time, and they carried eight flats of rental items up three flights of stairs without complaining.

all was good. got my chairs on time, wasn't too expensive and customer service was pretty good. only thing is - they deliver between certain hours, so if i was doing a larger party (i.e., 50+) and I didn't know what time my chairs would be delivered (they only let you know the day of) - I'd be a bit pissed. If you miss the delivery you're screwed. However, overall, my personal experience was ok.
