Still great classes and great people here. A rotating cast of instructors, all of them technical and fun to learn from. The facility has only gotten better, with the recent addition of heatlamps to warm the mats! They also have cardio conditioning classes and pilates to round out the Brazilian JiuJitsu, No-gi jiu jitsu, and Muy Thai.

Great gym! A place where they actually try and get to know you by name and interest and not just an i.d. number. Very professional staff. Instructors are great and technical. Great for new people who have no exp. or people who have been training and wanting to refine their technique. No pressure to sell you on a membership, even offering a free week of class to see how i like it. Also has a great kids program! I would recommend to everyone and anyone. Try it out see how you like it. Oh and parking is pretty good which is always a plus!!!

I have been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in san Francisco for 4 years and the head instructor Antonio Braga Neto is one of the most patient and technical instructors I have trained under. He does an excellent job of helping you understand the position he is teaching and why each piece of the move is important. The classes are only 1 hour so you can easily squeeze them in and it feels like there is always another class about to start. The academy is very large and clean; it even has a cage for MMA.
If you are looking for a place to train Jiu Jitsu or MMA in San Francisco, AB MMA is definitely worth checking out! -

Finally showed up here for the first time, and I am definitely going to continue training here. Did not get to meet the head instructor, but the other instructor was there and was super cool, technical, passionate about teaching Brazilian Ju Jitsu.
Between both the instructors AND the students, there is an extremely welcoming, friendly atmosphere. No douchey, egotistical machismo here. After class and just talking with everyone I felt like I was welcomed into a family.
Spacious, clean gym, MMA cage, weight benches and punching bags. Very close to my house, and it just seems perfect for me. I highly recommend this gym! -

I have trained at several brazilian jiu-jitsu academies since 2001 and by far this school is my favorite. From the beginning Braga Neto and his instructors welcomed me with open arms no matter where ive trained before. There's not too many places where you get to train with and learn from a 10x world champion. The atmosphere/attitude is more friendly and fun then the tough guy attitude, inflated ego atmosphere as you have with some gyms. The instruction is technical, precise, patient, encouraging and relaxed. Everyone is always willing to help each other out which makes it a positive learning experience. The facilities are always clean and sanitary with a huge mat space and mma cage. Any way come check it out!!

If World Champion Braga Neto were teaching a class in a parking lot I would attend (and I wouldn't be the only one). As if that's not enough, the academy is huge, impeccably clean and has everything you need to become a world class fighter yourself.

AB MMA Academy is the place to go if you want to train jiu jitsu. The head instructor is world champion black belt Braga Neto. This is where the champ's train. Weather your a beginner or a higher belt, I'm sure you'll learn something new. No ego's here, just great training, great people and a great workout.

Just checked out this new place. Facility is awesome. New mats, a newly built octagon, and Muay Thai bags. Staff is very friendly and there is a lot of potential at this place. Braga Neto teaches, who is a BJJ World Champion and has a ton of experience to share. I like this place because it has that learning environment feel where everyone will get better and help each other out!
Definitely check it out for the quality instruction! -

This place is awesome! Huge mat space, full mma cage, and even a lounge area. The head instructor Antonio Braga Neto is truly world class, he's super technical, and very patient. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to learn some jiu-jitsu!

AB MMA Academy isn't your regular martial arts school. AB MMA Academy is a superb institution of world class instructors who go beyond the call of duty of just "teaching" and truly change your perception of how passionate you can become to learn the art of Brazillian Ju Jitsu. Antonio Braga Neto and his instructors become a part of your family. Where else can you learn this incredibly effective martial art and never get injured? Where else can you find a teacher who is a Brazilian Ju Jitsu world champion, a 10x Brazilian Ju Jitsu Gold Medalist, who has proven his world class abilties in Japan by submitting his opponents in MMA fights and to top it all off treats his students with class, encouragement, and only positive reinforcement? My wife and I are very happy to find out through a sonogram that we are having a son. This is our first baby ever. This will be the place where he will get one of the best educations of his life and also the wonderful blessing of becoming a part of the AB MMA Academy family who will instill in him the self confidence to protect himself from anyone regardless of their size and all the tools necessary to attain excellent fitness. Antonio Braga Neto is a master and his instructors are the cream of the crop. In addition, the facility is top of the line. There is a real octagan UFC style that is simply beautiful and amazing! and all the mats in the academy are of the highest quality. In my opinion, AB MMA Academy is the best school in Northern California for Brazillian Ju Jitsu and mixed martial arts because of it's friendly family environment, world class instruction, and the premier quality of everything in the facility.

amazing instructors, great facility, good people! makes going to the gym fun and enjoyable every time. no egotistical people here. everyone is genuine and friendly and will definitely make you feel like family right away. i definitely recommend this academy to anyone of all ages looking to be a champion fighter, or just simply looking for a good work out
