Why Aaron?
From our first contact with Aaron, I knew we found our wedding photographer. His laid back, professional demeanor and positive attitude gave us assurance that he would be great to work with. This is so important as you'll be spending a good amount of time one-on-one with your photographer.
On the day of the wedding, he arrived early, was well-dressed and made us feel relaxed which made for great photos.
The photos
His photos truly speak for themselves, but the thing I love most is his great judgment for composition. His photos appear so natural, and he is really good at finding good lighting and making his clients feel at ease.
The timeline
Shortly after the wedding, a Sneak Peak image was available and got us so excited for what was to come next. Ten days after the wedding, a blog of our images were available. This was so great to share with everyone. I also like how the blog images built the day of the wedding in chronological order. Seventeen days after the wedding, all the images were available online for viewing, printing, and purchasing. About a month after the wedding, we received a DVD of edited high-resolution JPEG images.
The prints
The prints we received from his website are beautiful. They arrived well packaged and individually wrapped. They were far superior to prints I have had developed at Ritz, Walgreens and Shutterfly. My guess is that the images contain a color profile that was calibrated with the print service that Aaron used. This is not typical with many online printing services.
I would highly recommend Aaron. -

Aaron has a fantastic eye for photography and his style is pretty amazing. We contacted Aaron after seeing his photos of a Cathedral Park wedding in the Oregon Bride magazine.

He also gets an A for customer service. Aaron seems like a genuinely nice guy, and is very accomodating. Since we live out of town, he arranged a consultation with us over Skype. He was very easy to talk to, and kept us smiling! -

Aaron's photography speaks for itself. You can easily look at how amazing his photos are on his website. I don't think I need to comment on that, because it's right there for you to see. So I'll restrict my review to other aspects. We can call it his "customer service" if you like.
Firstly, his attitude. Some of the words I would use to describe him are: fun, easy going, kind, flexible, helpful, and willing. Basically... If you're looking for someone who is going to put you at ease and make sure you have a good time while you're having your photo taken several hundred times, Aaron is your guy. He's easy to work with and so enjoyable to be around that we pretty much forced him to hang out with us when he wasn't taking our pictures, just because we liked his company so much.
Nextly, his professionalism. He was always early for our sessions, diligently scoping out everything to make sure he knew where he wanted to take the shots and what the lighting situation was like. He had a blog posting with a preview of some of our pictures up in less than 1 week from our wedding, and the full set of photos on disc was soon to follow in the mail. I was really astounded at how quickly he edited our photos and got them back to us. At my mom's request he did some extra editing on a photo she liked but wanted some changes on. He also extended the discount sale of our wedding prints to our engagement session too (another request from my mom).
I think that sums up the highlights. My husband & I joke that we should pay him to just follow us around all the time, because his photos document things so wonderfully. Also, his children are some of the luckiest in the world, because they will have such a beautiful record of their special childhood moments, like birthdays, first days of school, or just going for a walk with their adoring father. Okay, I said I wasn't going to talk about his photos, but apparently I couldn't stop myself... -

Aaron loves what he does and it shows in every picture. He's creative without being weird. Professional without being uptight. He did our engagement, wedding and family photos. They all came out perfectly. Artful, unique, interesting photos that make it very hard to choose which ones to print because they are all so good. We're going to continue to update our life events with Aaron from here on out. He makes you feel really relaxed and during our wedding he was so unobtrusive we hardly noticed him. He blends right in when he needs to and somehow gets these amazing close-up shots when you didn't even know he was in the room. Our friends liked our photos so much they decided to use him for their engagement and wedding photos too. He is super likable. Funny and smart. Good conversationalist. He really seems to care about getting to know you and understand what you want. He's also great with kids. My wife and I wish we had a single friend to hook him up with. He's just that good of a dude.

Meet the Business Owner: Aaron C.
After picking up an SLR camera, Aaron Courter threw himself into visual creativity and there was no looking back. Always in love with the Pacific NW, amidst all the scenery he found the most inspiration in capturing people, enamored with the camera's ability to give us insight into the beauty of the individual.
When he is not playing with camera toys, he is spending time with his 2 kids in North Portland and/or eating something.
