I read a number of other Yelp reviews and selected Aaron Auto Glass, based on their strong ratings.
I really could not be happier with their service and their extremely affordable pricing--only $135 to have a new windshield installed (less than half of some other quotes I received.) Even better, they are open on Sundays and had me in and out in just under an hour. They even fixed my broken passenger side mirror for next to nothing.
Friendly service, great prices--I can't recommend them highly enough! -

Two weeks after visiting i realized they did a terrible job. The window tint had dirt in it. The window "settled" or moved or something and now there is a 1/4" gap between the tint and the bottom of the window. Also, they forgot to put any bolts back in the bottom of my door panel... so it came loose after one hard closing. Customer service was great and i really felt good about this place up front, but they completely blew it.
Not looking forward to going back this weekend to argue having the work done completely over.
- update -
I returned to the shop a week later, and the work was re-done at no charge. The business owner contacted me directly to make sure this issue was resolved after seeing my review. Much appreciated. -

Im mixed on this. I had a windshield and drivers side window replaced. Price is great. $200 for both windows cant be beat.
However, customer service is HORRIBLE! Seems they tell A LOT of customers that their regulators break and charge more to replace it. I heard this on about 3 cars that were there while I waited (Mine included). One manager agreed to put it in since i had the extra already there. I get the car back, they tell me its $45 extra. Conversation ensues and i tell them this isnt what I was told. They get mad and say "Fine! we will just prop the window for you". They prop the window and I went to put the regulator in myself. This is where the issues begin.
They drilled holes into my doors sheet metal to put wood blocks in there to hold the window up!! I took off my door panel and found about 5 new holes drilled out with drywall screws!! Wtf kind of method is this. A woman there told me they use existing holes. When there is metal hanging off the holes they drilled, that is far from "an existing hole". So I go there and talk to a manager, pull the car in and he comes out screaming at me for a good 5 minutes!! "I remember you, you wanted the regulator free!! NO NO NO, what!? what can I do for you!?! Huh?" then storms off and walks away.
So I explained to him, wtf kind of business drills holes in a door and messes up my car like that??? Reading other reviews, this isnt uncommon. HE BLAMES ME!! Saying "they were already there, this car isnt new, we didnt do it!!" I tried explaining to him, first off you never yell at a customer, secondly. My door panel never needed drywall screws and even lined up the holes to the block of wood that was in the door. He storms off saying "nobody is working here today and we cannot install the regulator".
The staff there was helpful, had some convos with the workers before but this douche of a manager is lucky he didnt get my foot in his ass. -

I had picked up a stone on the expressway a few months back. The little chip did not bother me much, but then it began to propagate after the first Chicago snowstorm when my defroster was on full blast. I knew that it would bother me until I got it fixed and taking it back to the dealer would be a whole day affair that would set me back $400-$500. My car is over 10 years old and I can't justify paying those kind of prices. My boyfriend told me that his parents needed a windshield replaced a few years back and Aaron Auto Glass is not only the cheapest, but the quickest service you can get in the area.
I called that Saturday afternoon to make an appointment. I really hate having to take time off work for something like this and I was pleasantly surprised when I was told that they are open on Sundays between 8am-12pm by appointment only. I came in at 10am, parked my car across the street in their lot, checked in at the front desk, and pulled my car into their garage. I paid $125 + tax for my new windshield and was out the door in under 50 minutes (they promise in under 60). They even put back your city sticker for you.
Being stuck in traffic for over two hours this past Friday, I was so happy that I had taken my windshield in to get it fixed. It was two hours of bumper-to-bumper with my defroster working overtime. While I was frustrated, I didn't have to worry about my windshield one bit. They offer a lifetime warranty on their replacements, making the replacement fee I paid seem like a drop in the bucket for the peace of mind I received. -

Quite an operation! All they do is glass and they do it while you wait at decent prices. I had a windshield chip repaired for $40 in about an hour.

If you bought a Groupon for this place, you may be in trouble.
The ladies up front could be a bit nicer too, seemed a bit rude to me.
Went to get a chip on my windshield repaired and was told that there's a chance they might break my windshield in the process, which would cost me a bit more, of course.
Look elsewhere for Auto Glass. -
Review from Nektaria R.
This review is based on the phone services and their honesty when we got there. Their honesty was helpful for making our decision.
Best rates in town! $45 for repair, $130 to replace. The agent that helped me both on the phone and in the store was pretty honest. Actually painfully honest that it scared my dad and brother to the next place where we paid more than twice as much, but that's on us.
They tell you that the chip/crack will not disappear, you will still be able to see it. In fact, they will apply the cost of the repair to the replacement and can even go through your insurance. This was our first windshield repair so we were kind of skeptical of what we really needed to do since IMO it was tiny crack and I really didn't want to replace windshield unless absolutely necessary.
Not oozing in confidence, we thanked them for their time and left. Onto a more confident auto glass repair joint, but I'm sure Aaron would have done a fine job. -

Aaron Auto Glass is my hero!
There's nothing worse than walking up to your car to discover someone has broken into it. Eh, what can you do? That's city life for ya.
However, if you find yourself in this unfortunate predicament...AAG is ready to help!
They made everything really simple for me! I had them meet me at my office in Bucktown (which is slightly closer to their office than my home in Lakeview). They arrived right in the middle of the 3 hour arrival window they gave me. The technician called me when he was on the way and once again upon arrival. He was polite, professional and took great care of my car. He cleaned up all of the broken glass and replaced my front passenger window in about an hour.
Price was great, I paid just under $70 (installed) for a new-to-me used piece of glass.
What could have been a day ruining experience turned out to be a slight annoyance. In these situations...what more can you ask for?
If you find yourself needing auto glass replacement ASAP...give AAG a call! -

A+ service. Speedy and painless. If your windshield starts to crack in the Chicago winter or you wake up one morning to find your side-door window bashed in :( ... as long as you can safely drive your car take it here. They'll fix it why you wait in the main office where you can keep busy with zillions of magazines, watch a Jack Nicholson movie and choose from 4 rows of Fritos in the vending machine. All adds to the charm of Aarons. We've been here 3 times now and always very happy with the service provided and wowed by the affordable price.

Called in and got a decent price for a window repair. Explained that I would be leaving work early and still rushing to get there by their 4 o'clock closing time. The secretary told me that as long as I arrived before 4:20 they would be able to help me out. Upon arriving at 4:05 I was greeted by a closed shop, I called to see what the problem was and the secretary said they were closed and didn't know what I was talking about regardless to have spoken with me 3 hours earlier and seeming sympathetic towards my plight.
Needless to say I was irate as I was leaving town that evening and had depended on their word that they would stay open.
I did find a better price and was still able to get the repair on my passenger glass that evening for a $50 bill at Auto Glass Solutions on the south side (10323 S Commercial Ave)
A bit of a drive perhaps, but at least they don't lie to you. -

First of all if you need a wndsheild, this is the place to go. But dont go in to get a new motor on your door window. They don't tell you they drill holes into your door and the motor isn't working all the way. It keeps getting stuck. Plus since I have 2005 honda. My radio went out and the manager tried to say it was my fault. I paid $188.00 for this. I should have just went to the dealership.

I called around to a few places in the area for pricing on a windshield replacement for my Honda CRV. Aaron Auto Glass by far had the best pricing in town, not to mention, the Yelp coupon worked! I got my windshield replaced for a total of $114 (after taxes, with the coupon), in just an hour. Plus, they offered to come out to replace it onsite for only $20 more. Good option for someone with limited time.

Today, I had the experience from hell with Aaron Auto Glass. Last Friday, I wen theret to have a leak in my windshield repaired. The damage was due to rust, but my body repair person was on vacation, so I went to Aaron. The staff person told me he could use black caulk, as a temporary fix, but it wouldn't look very good. I agreed, but it didn't look very good because it was done messily with caulk on the area border to the left that wasn't repaired. They put orange tape on it and told me to leave it for 24 hours. This was done the past Friday.
This morning, I'm driving my car, and I discovered a crack in the windshield where they did the repair. I called Aaron, and they said to bring it in. I said it was a distance plus I have a disability, and they still insisted that I needed to come in, so I did. After almost two hours, they replaced the glass; again with orange tape keeping it in place. I left and drove 9 blocks, and it was Aaron The mechanic forgot to replace my vehicle sticker, parking and oil change decal, so back I went. He did that, and I left again! I went to a nearby fruit market, and when I returned in my car, I noticed grease on my armrest, side of the passenger seat and my door handle. Plus the grease was all over my right arm and on my blouse. I went back the 3rd time. Unbelievable!!
A nice woman in the office, Marta, came and cleaned my arm with special grease cleaner. The jury is still out whether the grease will be removed from my blouse, in my laundry. If not, they're replacing the blouse. You think you've heard it all, but the manager came in and tried to blame ME for the grease in my car. He asked if I held on to the windshield while getting in my car NOT! He said because his staff doesn't go inside the cars. Really?????? They must be suffering from affixiation, as they went in my car to remove the vehicle sticker and decals. How dispicable. My advice, DON''T EVER GO TO AARON'S. If I could rate this a minus star I would! -

Getting your passenger side window busted into a million pieces by a thief is not an experience I would wish on anyone. It happened to me. First time for me-lesson learned-I'm more cautious about where I park now. Getting a GREAT window replacement service company was something I thought I would have to search endlessly for. Aaron Auto Glass quoted me a great price on the phone, sensed I was shopping around, and offered to match a lower quote. I did find a lower quote for a used window and Aaron's came within ten bucks of matching the price for a NEW window. They came to my work the next day, vacuumed up all the shattered glass, and was done within an hour. Probably about a half hour if I'm being really accurate. I would recommend them to anyone who has had the misfortune of having their car window damaged. Awesome job!

Seriously. There is no reason to go anywhere else.
Aaron's glass is at minimum, 50% less than their competitors.
I made the sad mistake of buying a Scion XB in July of 09.
Not 6 months later, the windshield developed a tiny crack the first time that I turned on the defroster. Never int the 20 years that I have owned or driven a car have I ever encountered a crack in my windshield. Online research proved that this was an issue with XB's. There is an ongoing class action suit for the previous model for the same issue. Apparently the design of this car produces more fractures in the windshield. Armed with this information, I went to Toyota to replace it under warranty. They refused. They dug a pen down the crack and said, sorry, your crack is due to a rock chip. Excuse Me? I saw and heard it crack myself when I turned on the defroster. Too bad for me. They wanted $945 to replace it with a Manufacturer windshield or $450 for a no name windshield. My butt, I'll pay that.
I'm posting all the dribble so that other 09 Scion XB owners will find my review when googling.
For the past year since the initial crack, I have been driving with that crack. Every time I got into that car, I wondered if my luck would end and I would receive a ticket for that crack. As the months went by, it grew a few centimeters. I was holding out, I wanted them to replace it.
Fast forward to December. 2010. While driving to a friend's house, I had no choice but to turn on my defroster. The sound that I heard scared the hell out of me. The 3 inch crack all of the sudden stretched the entire width of my windshield. I drove like a little old woman, I had precious cargo in back. I was sure that not only would I be pulled over, but that the whole windshield would cave in and cut me to shreds. I had no choice but to throw in the towel and replace my windshield.
I called 4 glass and collision shops for quotes. Aaron Glass blew me away. $100 for a used one, or $150 for a brand new one with warranty. They also did onsite replacements for an additional $25. No one could come near their prices.
I was able to have my windshield removed and replaced in less than an hour and a half. I highly recommend them.
P.S. When replacing your windshield, be sure to test your wipers. They may not function the same. I had to purchase new ones. Also be sure to save your receipt as that is the only way that they will honor your warranty. -

Had them come out for mobile service on relplacing one of my windows...the window was purchased used, but the scratches on it were unacceptable. The installer acted as if he was not happy that he was doing me a favor. Not that I was essentially paying him to do his job.
I tested the window and the express up feature didn't work properly anymore. Yes, that is a luxury, but it worked before he "fixed" the window. I brought this up to him and he said, "yeah, but you have a window now" --- SERIOUSLY? NICE attitude dude.
Rather than arguing, I just went inside and made arrangements for them to fix the F up at their shop.
So not only did I waste time letting this schmo touch my car, I had to make the trip to the shop and wait ANYHOW.
Pros - they do it same day and have mobile service
Cons - rude and self entitled clown mobile installer - they left a decent amount of glass and glass powder in my car - botched install - scratched windows installed - front desk people can be rude. -

I can't believe I drove around for a year with my window duct taped up when it was only $25 to fix it. I walked in at 3:30pm today and was finished by 3:50pm. That is amazing! Aaron you guys are the best!

Seriously awesome. Someone smashed in my windshield as a little Saturday before St. Pat's Day present, so I called around and landed on these guys. The quote they gave me was $100 cheaper than Safelite, and they were the only outfit in town that could replace it on Sunday.
Dropped off the car around noon, it was done in 30 MINUTES (and they had originally said 90!) and I paid $150 total for the window & work. I could care less if this place smells like tacos (as a previous reviewer said ) or looks like a flea market inside - they do the job and do it well! It's been a week and my windshield is in great condition through hot sun, rain and now snow.
I HIGHLY recommend these folks, especially if you need something fixed on a weekend. It's a bit far west, but worth the drive! -

After taking a rock to the windshield last week at 5:30 AM, I was pretty pissed!
Being an amateur on the subject, I didn't know if I should try to get the chip repaired or the entire windshield replaced. So I got prices for both. One company said they would repair the chip for $79, when I realized it was three little chips, the price was $99. I called Aaron's to get an idea of what the competition was, and they said it would be $145 to replace the entire windshield.
The first time I went there, it took a little under an hour to get the new windshield. The next morning however, there was frost inside the windshield, meaning the new windshield was not properly sealed. So I had to take it back hte next day. I was a little frustrated that on my second visit, fixing their mistake, I had to wait for every other customer to get their windshields/windows tended to first, including people who got there after I had arrived. I felt it a little on the poor side of customer service.
But the prices are good, and the second windshield I have had in a week seems to have been correctly sealed this time around. Keep your receipt, otherwise you are 100% screwed out of any warranty work. -

Trust me 1 star is way too much for this place!!! Wow!!! So totally unprofessional from start to finish..
First time I called they hung up without answering.
Second time I called they answered like they were at home..
I had to ask is this Aaron's Auto glass to which the answer was " yeh, what do you need"?
Then actually went there and the place smelled like I was in a Mexican restaurant which might not have been so bad if I could have ordered a taco and if it weren't a glass shop, there were to girls standing at the front desk might as well been none, it still took 15 minutes for them to get someone to assist me and when he did he was almost as rude as they were. Nice!!!!
Would definetly not recommend them if you need anything glass related do your homework first and shop around..... -

After a combination of subzero winter cold and high heat defrost led to an enormous thermal fracture that stretched from one end of my windshield to another, I was left with no choice but to repair it as soon as possible, before more winters storms hit.
I phoned around to several businesses and settled on Aaron's. I was quoted a price of $150 (including labor) for a complete replacement of the windshield of my 2004 Toyota Camry. The replacement window was real authentic Toyota glass -- not a second-rate substitute. I brought it in on a Sunday morning, and was impressed with the size of their operation -- they had at least half a dozen guys in the garage. I was out in under an hour. Sweet!! -

I liked Aaron Auto glass overall. They were quick and cheap, and I'm happy with the job that they did. I'm one the 20 something generation, so curse words at work don't terribly offend me. It was actually pretty funny to me that the workers in back were screaming over the walkie talkies, "get the f****in Avalanchm in here! Their taking up all the space! I'm trying to get these f****in people outta here! Find the fuckin Avalanche!" I assume he was referring to the owner of a rather large SUV that was long past ready. NE way....walkie talkies......not for the faint of heart. Overall.........solid A experience, I'm easy to please.

Fast and reasonably priced.. yes! The down side, messy. They left pieces of tape and old glue in my truck. The black adhesive was oozing out of a corner on my new windshield... and there were black adhesive finger prints on the fender, and the inside and outside of my doors.
Maybe a bad day for them? I don't know.

These folks are awesome. I wish more businesses were like AAG - straightforward, efficient and speedy. No, they don't want to hear your pity story about how someone broke into your car and took your CTA card and your Red Hot Chili Peppers CD, nor do they want to hear the trixie complain about the crime in Lakeview because she only hangs out in the Gold Coast and her window got smashed because she left her GPS out in the open.
Call 'em up. Give them your car model, make and year, you'll have a quote in less than two minutes. Most likely, they're the best price. Trust me, I called five places in the city.
The guys in the shop are a riot. I pull my car into the stall and two guys ask for my keys and start giving me grief about the scratch on the hood, the wipers that are worn out and the dirty car. I tell them the situation about the windshield (the rear view mirror ripped a small chunk of the glass - I kid you not) and they're not having any of it. They're just shaking their heads concurrently in agreement that I should be taking better care of my car. I was half hoping that they would wash it for me. Funny guys.
So, they tell me to come back in an hour and I decide to get lunch right down the street at Lindo Poncitlan (see review, too). I take a leisurely twenty minute lunch when my phone rings saying that my car is ready. 20 minutes. Well, I get back and sure enough, it's ready. I pay the bill and head for the car. Windshield looks good and I see them haul out the remnants of my former windshield.
All in all, a pretty quick and fun thirty minutes in Hermosa.
One more thing to add, they peeled off my city sticker from the old windshield and stuck it on the new one, just like a new sticker. These guys rock. -

I recently went to Aaron Auto Glass to have the side quarter panel windshield on my 2003 Lexus GX470 replaced. Of all the quotes I received, they were the cheapest, but more importantly they were the only ones to have it in stock. The price they quoted me was the price I paid. It took a little more than an hour and I was on my way.

Best place to get your windows repaired! I've gone there a few times (I must have bad luck.) and always had a good experience. They always have the glass in stock. You're in and out in about an hour with the cheapest price around.
Keep your receipt and their work is 100% warrantied for life. The molding came loose on my Corrolla windshield from a replacement almost a year ago, and they replaced it for free. -

My experience with Aaron Auto has been a good one. I've actually used them twice for window repair.. One of the times, a rock hit my windshield while I was driving and I took it to their shop in on Pulaski&Cicero. The neighborhood isn't the greatest & the waiting rooms are not very spacious, but they fixed my windshield without having to replace it by injecting some sort of fluid. The repair was done in a timely manner and their prices are among the lowest I've found.
Last night someone broke into my car and I ended up calling Aaron again, they offered me a discount on the mobile fee to come out and install the window because the receptionist said they were slow (which i thought was pretty nice of her to do). They arrived within 30 minutes and my windshield was fixed within less than an hour. I've always been satisfied with their work and I would highly recommend them to anyone with a domestic car in need of auto glass repair.... I wouldn't be so sure about imports. Overall, I'll definitely remain a loyal customer. -

After an unfortunate break-in to my car, I got quotes from several auto glass places in Chicago to replace my window. Aaron was more than 1/3 lower in cost. Granted, the window was used but you wouldn't know the difference (looks brand new). They also came out to replace it the business day after it happened, which was great. Excellent service and great prices -- highly recommended!

Ok, so I meant only 4.5 not 5 stars but that wasn't an option. Customer service isn't the friendliest, and the waiting room isn't the best but they get the job done quickly and afford ably. My car gets broken into one night, I wake up to bad news, make a few calls, drive over and they fix my car in under 2 hours for under $120. Calls to other places wouldn't quote me until I came in AND they said it can take days if not weeks. I'd recommend these guys

Alright, so I have used Aaron's 3 times in the last two years. My first two times were awesome. They replaced a windshield on a van, and a vent window on a different car. I couldn't be happier with those two experiences. The most recent experience was so bad, I will not be going back ever. I had my passenger window knocked out on my VW Rabbit one evening. I went to Aaron's first thing next day. They put the window in, sealed it up, and returned it to me. When I went to use the window after letting it sit for the required period of time, it would not function. Additionally, the interior panel was cracked. Lastly, there was glass in the window pocket. When I took the car back to Aaron's, they took no responsibility for the glass in the pocket, and said they would replace the panel. I have been back 3 times now for the panel replacement, and they keep offering me used panels that have been repaired. I have had to spend 400 dollars having the loose glass removed from the door. I am giving up on going back because it is a waste of my time. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau.
If you have an easy repair, Aaron's is great. If anything goes wrong, they may not take responsibility, and it will end up costing you more than an expensive body shop.Comment from Josue J. of Aaron Auto Glass 3/25/2011

They don't have the cleanest or most inviting waiting room but they have everything else taken care of. They communicated directly with my insurance company, quickly ushered me into the shop, had my window in stock, replaced my window quickly, and thoroughly cleaned all of the broken glass from inside my car. I would easily recommend them again...BUT HOPEFULLY NOT FOR MYSELF! One broken window is enough for me. Plus, it is a good place to brush up on your Spanish....Yo quiero, Aaron's?

My car had been broken into (again) and I had been in this situation multiple times before (Thank you, Chicago) and was just having a bad day. They were so understanding and exemplified excellent Customer Service, pricing, and expedient service. I was able to have my window fixed within the hour. Hopefully it does not happen again in the future, but I will definitely recommend them for any auto glass repairs.
