I had some car registration issues and came to AAA on a Saturday for some help.  The first lady that helped me was very professional and nice.  I had to call her once I got home because I needed to pay a fee through the DMV website, but was having trouble finding where to go.  She helped me figure out the silly-mistake I kept making and was as nice as you could be about it.  While I was on hold to speak with her, another employee, this time a male, was just as nice and helpful in connecting me to her.

Unfortunately, I had to come back on Monday to get the approval from the DMV (because the DMV is only open on weekdays).  When I returned to AAA on Monday, I was greeted by a different lady and again she was just as amazing as all of the others!  I finally got my car registered and I can happily say that it was all because of the wonderful people at this location.

    Thank you!

The local branch of AAA is a very pleasant one.

I found it a simple procedure to get someone to ask questions of, and registering my new car and transitioning from owning one car, to two cars, back to one, again, and the complications of keeping all the vehicles properly insured were a breeze with the help of several kind agents in the office over the course of several weeks.

I have tried to get in touch with my insurance agent or other representatives three times in the past year, and all these 3 times I have not been able to speak with them. Leaving voicemails, I expected to hear back from them, but it was no use as they don't call you back. I had to resort to calling the 1-800 number to resolve the issues.

I firmly believe that they are only sweet talking you till they sell you insurance, and then don't care about you after that.

    AAA is the WORST!

I just spent over an hour and half stuck in the fire lane at my son's school.  They were supposed to send out a tow truck within an hour.  After an hour of sitting there with no tow truck in sight, I called.  And there was not even an estimate of when the tow truck would be there.  It was getting dark and the woman at AAA told me I might have to wait for another hour before the truck came.  I found out they don't even use Lamorinda Tow or Orinda Towing anymore.  So if you need your car towed in the Lamorinda area, you have to wait for a tow truck to come from Walnut Creek or Concord.

Canceling our service - the last time I needed the service I was stuck on a freeway onramp and finally the police came to the rescue after holding up traffic for over an hour.

A local mechanic rescued me tonight - he sent a mechanic out to jump my battery.

I have had two occasions to need assistance from an agent at AAA in the last two months.  Not accidents just changes on insurance policies.  Both times Ashley Hunhoff has been pleasant and efficient in answering my questions and taking care of my policy changes.  I have been with  AAA, for all of my insurance needs since initially started by my parents when I was 16.  Ms. Hunhoff is certainly a great representative for AAA with outstanding knowledge of the insurance capabilities for their clients.  Thank you Ashley!

I have been a very happy and loyal customer of AAA insurance for a couple of years now.  My favorite part of being a AAA insurance customer is the outstanding customer service that I get from my agent, Pat Wolfe.  It is so great to have a real person, and a real (not 800) phone number to call when you need advice.

A year or so ago I was in a minor car accident.  Neither the other driver nor I knew what we were supposed to do as far as exchanging info went, so I called Pat!  Not only did he answer, but he asked if I was ok, and told me exactly what info to get from the other driver.

He was also really helpful when my bike was stolen and told me to file a police report and reminded me what my deductible for replacement was.

The point of this review is not to highlight my bad luck, but to highlight the great value and service of AAA insurance and Pat Wolfe.

I LOVE AAA!  I always get the best rates, and the best customer service from AAA. Once I strayed and went with another company for about 6 months before I realized that nobody could ever compete with the services, attention to detail, and reliability of AAA.

What a great place it must be to work here, they are always so friendly and helpful and the general vibe is calm and friendly. And I forget there's a mini DMV for registering vehicles...Sweet! I needed passport photo's and for a mere $10, and a few minute wait we got service with a smile. And to top off this story my puppy decided to eat the photo's that I left on the edge of the table. He pretty much punctured one of the two, rendering one questionable. I called and asked if it could be used and "Jane" told me don't risk it, just come back in and she'd retake my photo's for FREE. Yes, you heard me.....FREE. And with that I went back in and the first set I looked a bit shall we say "yellowish", and who knows maybe the end of the roll of film. She said lets just redo them, just like that. So there you go, no problems all done with a smile....I couldn't ask for more....Well maybe the dog not eating them. :-)
    AAA you Rock!
PS. They had lemonade and cookies out too (though I was a good girl and resisted)

I just spent an incredibly frustrating amount of time trying to call the Walnut Creek AAA Office.  I kept getting in endless voice mail loops no matter WHAT number I pressed, and it kept telling me to leave a message!!??!  While I was waiting through one of the loops, I saw this review  on this office on Yelp, which lists a 925-609 number, which is different from the "offical" number listed online for them.  I called THIS number and got sent to a CALL CENTER?? WTF?? But, I did get a LIVE HUMAN, who connected me pdq to another LIVE HUMAN at the Walnut Creek office, who explained what the deal is:  apparently, each employee has their OWN phone number, and unless you have this SECRET UNLISTED NUMBER you cannot get a human.  HERE"S THE SECRET NUMBER: 925-988-1475.  Write it down, people, cause you won't get a person otherwise. The person I spoke with was very nice and helpful. Thank god. The magic number, by the way, is to their OLD LAFAYETTE OFFICE!!??!!??  IT's the ONLY ONE THAT WILL GET YOU TO A HUMAN if you don't already have someone's number.

We have our homeowners, earthquake, and both car insurances with AAA, and if they don't get better customer service we're gone.  I mean seriously, a freakin' main phone number with a real human is too hard for them??   ...During my long wait, I saw an artcile that said when they moved in to their new fancy digs in Walnut Creek, they LAYED OFF a bunch of workers.  Gee, maybe they need to rethink that strategy.  Probably that's when they went to the ridiculous phone system.

I don't live in Walnut Creek anymore but I make an effort to go to this AAA location for my travel plans. Everyone I have worked with there has been friendly and courteous. If you are booking travel ask for Amber, very helpful and knowledgeable and kept our budget in mind for our trips and didn't try to "up sell" us.

We have been members of AAA road service for 13 years.  My husband and I are planning on  taking a trip to the East Coast to enjoy the turning of the leaves.  We went into AAA for information and discount coupons.  This location was organized and hospitable and offered us such good information we now have an itinerary for our trip with hotels and car rental.  This includes so many more attractions and stops than we could have ever figured out ourselves. Please don't overlook this fantastic service when you plan your next trip!  I don't even know if you have to be a member.  Just check it out and ask for Karen.  She was terrific!

I went to take a passport sized picture for my 6 months old girl. I know i reached at 5:45pm but i had made sure to give them a headsup and confirmed if someone would be available to take the picture.
Upon reaching there, the gentleman (usually i have seen him at the reception) exhibited a warm welcome. The ladies there however didn't sound very welcoming (may be because they were closing??)..
The lady there (a senior person) started with a negative attitude that they do not take children pictures. I was surprised to know that since i had taken the picture when my girl was 1 month old at some other AAA.
Anyways, with whole of the negative frame she took us to where the picture gets taken. There i saw booster seats, that means they definitely take children pictures(which negated what they stated earlier).
My girl did her best to stay still while the pictures were taken. However the quality of the pictures received were sub-standard. The contrast, sharpness looked like from a 2 MBP camera. I asked if the picture can be adjusted using some software settings, they completely denied doing that (may be because they were closing??).
Then i requested if another picture could be taken, that particular gentleman was the only one were positive about this idea, however one another old lady came over and she was the bluntest of all.
She just 'ordered' the receptionist to refund me back the $20 that was pre-charged and that there is nothing she can do better.
She also suggested me to visit the same AAA where i had taken the last picture (which unfortunately for me was in Connecticut).
None of those ladies sound apologitive about all these and they were more than happy to see our back.
The next time i go there, i am going to note each of their names and write to AAA Corporate who boast about their "Member's experience"...I have not exaggerated or over-stated anything here.

They definitely might be great in all their member services but definitely not this one.

COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!!! I've been a loyal customer for years, but found out that AAA does not stand behind their members when problems arise.
Short story:  My son had a flat tire while he was using my car and called AAA for roadside assistance. Roadside assistance put the spare on, and my son continued on to college.  A month later he drove from Arizona back home to N. Cal. I exchanged cars with him, and took my car the next day up to Oregon.  The morning after arriving in Oregon, I felt something wrong when I turned the corner....I coasted into the closest parking lot.
When the AAA roadside arrived, his jaw almost hit the ground when he looked at my car. There was only ONE LUGNUT holding the wheel onto the car, with one lugbolt completely snapped off, and all the other lugnuts gone.  Carefully he got my SUV onto a flatbed, and we took it directly to the local Les Schwab Tire Center.  Five guys crowded around my car to look at it on the flatbed, and the first thing said: "Who was the last person to touch this wheel?!"  It was immediately apparent to them that the wheel resembled one where the lugnuts were not properly tightened.
I was so thankful that neither my son, myself or any other motorists were not killed.  I asked only for AAA to reimburse me for the $362 out-of-pocket to pay for the damage to the wheel, which was caused in my opinion (and many others including Les Schwab) by gross negligence from a AAA roadside representative. Not only did AAA not reimburse me for the expenses, they DENIED ANY REPONSIBILITY.  I called the Northern California regional manager, and never received a call back.
I have switched to State Farm Roadside services, as I know that if anything ever happens like this in the future, they will cover the claim.  An insurance company is only good if they stand behind their members.
Clearly, AAA is not one of those insurance companies.
