In a word: AWESOME!! I needed a spray texture gun, and decided to give a *certain* home improvement big-box store a call because I knew they rented tools. After being on hold for close to 10 minutes, I called my contractor friend to see if he knew who I should try; he said AAA is hands down the place to go. They had just what I needed in stock, and we were in and out in less than 10 minutes. Since we rented it right before they closed and brought it back early in the morning, they gave us a discount! Nice! Now THAT'S how you create a happy and loyal customer. Will definitely be returning for our next DIY project.

Stuck with a blocked drain on a Sunday, this place was open, had the motor snake that i needed, was very helpfull with renting it to my wife, as I was under the house checking the various clean out options.

Stopped in today to rent a garden tiller for 2 hours. Hadn't called in advance or reserved online, but was still in and out in less then 5 minutes. These guys are nice and quick and have just about anything you can think of for tool rentals. The return process was just as quick and convenient. I'm sure I will be back. I might even just make up some projects to come rent some of their cool tools.

My boyfriend lost his new iphone at the golf course. We decided to rent a metal detctor and try to find it. I found AAA by googling metal detectos.
The service was great, the guys there were all so helpful and accomodating! Would use them in a heartbeat when we need to rent equipment. -

I rented a set of floor sanders on Saturday. Nice guys helped us pickup equipment, instructed how to use and loaded to my cay. Highly recommend, A+++++.

First off, the Yelp category of "party supplies" is totally, totally off base Unless your party involves jackhammers, trenchers, giant dollies, forklifts, that sort of thing.
Rented a jackhammer here to take out a small concrete wall. They were prompt and extremely courteous. Incredibly polite guy advised me on the type of jackhammer I needed and rang me up within a couple of minutes. He was very clear on the rental terms, when I needed to return, the damage waiver, etc. Another, equally polite guy went and got the jackhammer and loaded it into our truck. Had the same very pleasant experience returning it. Will definitely go back if I need to rent another big tool thingie. Oh, and I checked prices and AAA is competitive or less than the others in the area. -

So sorry I didn't use your heaters for my crab feed party this year. :-( You've always been great, but A-1 allowed me to return the heaters on Monday rather than Sunday so I gave them a try. OMGosh, so not worth it!!! One of their heaters did not work, and after numerous phone calls both during and after my party, (on one of the coldest nights of the year), they said they would give me a refund on the one heater. They didn't. Now I'm having to dispute the charge with the bank. You guys have always been so great to me, and actually came out to my house to help me with your heater the year before. Believe me, I won't be unfaithful again. I will be back. You all are great. If I could have multiplied your stars I would have!

I was crazy enough to move a piano myself in a minivan, so I called up A-A-A Rentals and asked them what I needed. They rented me a ramp and a special piano dolly, and the move went swimmingly.

Yelp, "As good as it gets"
As an avid DIY'er when we moved into our home not too far from AAA, I looked forward to the work ahead of me. When my wife looked over the back hedge at the rest of the yard and said, "ok, this will have to go", I knew I needed some bigger tools. The first, place I went was "Triple A Rentals" around the corner and on the right side of the street. They have had everything I have ever needed in over 14years of living in, and remodeling, this house and 1+acre yard. Not just landscaping tools either. I was working on the brakes of a 4wd and needed a special tool to remove a hub... I described what I was trying to do and Ed went digging around and came back with a couple of options... sent me home with both and charged me for whichever one worked. My point is they are very helpful and very fair. The place may be lined up with commercial customers but Ed, Marv and even Ken will take the time needed to make me feel as though I am the only customer in the place and make sure every question is fully answered...even the ones I didn't know to ask...
I no longer wait until I need to rent a particular tool to call them, instead I call them when I don't have a solution to a problem and they will help me solve it and prescribe the right tool for the job. -

My son LOVES tools and construction equipment and machinery and so we went to AAA Rentals to celebrate his 4th birthday. Ed, the manager, was absolutely the kindest, most enthusiastic, and generous person ever. He welcomed my son in, gave us an amazing tour of their inventory, and answered all of our questions. The highlight: my son got to hold a jackhammer.
They have everything - or as their website says 'most everything.' Their website lists it all out but it's clear that if you're building or fixing something, they have the tools you need for the job. And the staff is so knowledgeable about how everything works.
We live in Berkeley and so renting equipment from Redwood City doesn't make too much sense. But if we lived closer, I wouldn't hesitate a second to rent from Ed at AAA Rentals. They're good people. -

This place is really great. Was hosting a painting party and heard from the local hardware store that this was the place to rent from. Considering I hardly know how to nail a hole in the wall, I was slightly anxious about renting a paint sprayer, but the staff was very helpful, and walked me through how to use it before renting... good thing, as the first one they had wasn't working 100%, so they made sure to get me the spare sprayer which worked phenomenally. Given my general cluelessness with anything DIY, I ended up needing the tool overnight - the store was completely accomodating and basically just charged me for the hours I used it (they could probably tell just by looking at me I wouldn't have been able to use it longer even if I wanted to). Great place - for both experienced hands and novices like myself. They made my painting party an awesome (and painless) success!

Old fashion rental store with a couple wise cracking salesman. But don't think that's it, these folks are high tech and have the latest tools on hand and will teach you what common pitfalls you should avoid with your rental.

I'll be the first to admit I know very little about tools and other construction equipment, but recently I found myself needing a couple of high wattage construction lights for an event at my son's school. AAA has a very usable website, and they were great about calling back to confirm and answering my questions "live". They were very professional and answered by questions. I never felt patronized just because I didn't know much about what I needed to rent and needed some guidance. When I went to pick up the lights, the process was efficient and quick, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Their prices were reasonable too.
