I think what is great about Clay is that he really listens to you. I had just graduated but had a 20 page CV and wanted to push my career in a different direction. Clay listened to my concerns with an initial FREE consultation and then rewrote my resume and cover letter in a manner that both emphasized what I wanted and what companies were looking for. Before Clay, I had spent 2 months on the job search with no replies. After Clay, I fielded 3 interviews per week until I found a job.
Not only that, I also consulted Clay for interview prep and he taught me how to "close" an interview which was amazing. After every interview, Clay kept in touch and followed through on keeping me calm and helping me counteroffer. His advice helped me both get the job AND an offer that met me 100% within 1 month of contacting him. Considering the economy and the number of my friends out of work, this was a wonderful surprise.
Price wise, Clays services are a steal. I checked around and Clay's prices are less than half of what others charge and both his education (PhD in English) and experience (15 years) rivals those of anyone else in this business.

What a find!!! I've been trying to put my resume together for months and it never seemed right. Happened across this company, walked in met Clay Cerny, interviewed on Friday and had my resume by Monday. I worked with the owner, Clay, to go over interviewing techniques for a job that I really wanted to land. He focuses not on just giving the right answers to the interviewer, but also on how to close the interview. The close is actually a lot of fun and it really works. Clay has worked in HR for a large corporation as a recruiter for a lot of years and truly knows what you need to do to make yourself look like the ideal candidate. Meet the Business Owner: Clay C.
Clay Cerny is a career coach and resume writer in Chicago.
Since 2001, he has helped 2,000 job seekers present themselves to new employers. Clay is featured in several books on career management, including Resumes for the Rest of Us, Expert Resumes for Baby Boomers, and No-nonsense Cover Letters.
Before becoming a career coach and resume writer, Clay was a Manager at Richard Day Research, and he taught English and Writing part-time at DePaul and Northwestern University. He has earned a PhD in English Literature from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's Degree in English and History from John Carroll University.
