I've been coming here for five or more years now -- that alone should tell my opinion of the place. Unless you get unlucky and have others ahead of you (only happened to me once), you're in and out in 10-20 minutes. There's a waiting room with four chairs, or you can walk a few storefronts down to a deli.
The staff is super friendly.
It's a pain having to smog test your car, but since you have no choice in doing it, you should go someplace fast and friendly -- like here! -

In and out in 20 minutes with no appointment or wait of any kind. Reasonably priced and I got a $10 discount for some unknown reason. Maybe it was the leap day special.
Would recommend. -

Quick and efficient ! The owner was very nice and evenly explained what all the numbers on the smog certificate meant. Which was great since I don't know much about cars. Would most definitely recommend!

Nice, clean facility and was treated professionally. Printed out the coupon on the website, which offered a fat $20 discount, which was nice.
The guy who did my smog test was courteous and quick. I was in and out within 20 minutes. I would go here again if i needed another smog test (thankfully, we don't! passed with flying colors :)
Tip: This place is easy to miss if you're heading south on Wolfe, so keep an eye out for it right after Central Expressway. It's sandwiched between all the auto shops on your right, across the street from the Taco Bell. -

I was seeking a quick, professional smog test place for my MINI. I found these guys on Yelp with their coupon. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. Smog tests are a pain in the butt to add to your list of things to do...these guys took that task off my list without putting a dent in my day!

Very professional approach, clean shop, no drama and completed the smog check with in 20 minutes. It is family owned business and Syed is very honest and he deliver the service with maximum customer satisfaction. I recommend this place even though it is expensive than other places.

I went here today, have had both of my cars smogged here, including one twice (total 3 visits). This is a 1-man business, and a Test Only facility, right accross from the Taco Bell at Kifer/Wolfe in a car repair complex with Firestone the most visible from the road.
Prices are $59.75 for a smog check + $8.25 for the smog certificate, total $68.00. I have a feeling that this is not cheap per se, but its near my work and home and the guy is very sincere and always tells you how long it will take (accurately) he comes across as a quiet, hard-working, and honest guy, so I feel comfortable going there even if its a few bucks more. What I really hate are the places that advertise a lesser price, they're filthy places, service sucks and you end up watching the clock, wasting time and accomplishing little. Here the guy tells me how long, then I can sit with a cup of coffee and read or study for that time, no surprises and drama.
There is a deli about 50 feet away in that same complex, you can sit and read (they have fresh clam chowder~) while you wait, and if you sit by the window you can actually see him working on your car (so you'll know when its ready). Took me like 15-20 min. tops from giving him the keys to me pulling out. You can save like 2 min. by parking your car directly in the bay , as opposed to in the parking lot as he'll just run and fetch it (I've actually seen him run to get cars when he gets backed up, actually run! he cares about his business and tries to get you outa there). -

I came here the other day to get my smog test done. I must say, very satisfied with the service! Not only great customer service, but speedy as well like the title of the place says! It took only 15-20 minutes and I was out of there. I also had a coupon for $20 off and they gladly accepted it. =] You can get it on their website, but it's only good until the end of this year. Will come back here again when I need another smog test and even suggest this place to friends.

I work close by and found this place through the http://www.smogcheck.c... website that was linked through the DMV site.
I called around to check the price for my smog test. The guy who answered for Speedy Smog informed me that it was $68 but less if I went to their website and printed out the $20 rebate coupon. http://www.speedysmogs...
So of course I hunted down the site, printed the coupon, and took my car in during my lunch hour. The test was finished in 30 min.
The $48 (with rebate) test was quick and I am glad I found it. The guy was very nice and helpful (he also remembered that I called in and spoke to him over the phone).
While I was waiting for the test to complete, I realized I had been to the same location before but did not have a great experience. I remembered it taking way too long and costing me close to $75 (which was unexpected because I did not know that going into the deal). It all came back to me and I remember vowing to never take my car in there again.
With this in mind, I asked the gentleman how long he had been open.
He told me that they had been there since last summer when the original owner sold the place to the current owner.
And voila. A change in ownership, staff, and improvement of service overall.
So here I am posting an excellent review when I RARELY post reviews for anything. Go in on a Monday or a Friday and get the same employee who took care of me. I'd be shocked to hear if you come away with a terrible experience. -

I didn't think a smog check could be so efficient:
- This place is a one-man operation run by a dude named Salvador. I wouldn't say he's friendly, but he's definitely efficient, running (literally) to grab my car, running around to do all the various tests, and very accommodating of my annoying questions and small-talk.
- Everything felt very honest with the prices for all the services clearly posted in the office. I didn't get the sketchy vibe I get at other car-related establishments.
- Went in conveniently on Saturday; it's open 8 AM-6 PM. There was absolutely no wait, and I didn't need an appointment.
- The whole thing took 15 minutes. Crazy fast. The caveat is I have a Corolla and Salvador said those are incredibly easy to test.
- Test-only facility and if you fail, he'll retest you for free.
- I have a coupon so the whole thing was ~$40, including electronic submission which some places charge extra for. Oddly the filing wasn't instantaneous, but about 12 hours later the test showed up on the DMV web site. Everything here was so fast and easy though that honestly I wouldn't have minded paying the full $70.
Will definitely be back to AAA Speedy Smog next time I need a smog check.

I was looking for a fast and inexpensive place to get my car smog tested. I found Speedy Smog on the internet and read the reviews. I printed out their coupon found at http://www.speedysmogs... and got 20 dollars off. Total bill $48 out the door. The owner was courtesy and very fast. I highly recommend this place

These guys know what they're doing and they don't gouge the customer with high prices. Their SMOG price was great, I had a coupon and ended up paying $58 instead of $68 . . . every bit of savings helps in this economy! The technician pulled my Toyota Sienna into the bay, I had a sandwich at the Deli next door and I'd say it was roughly 15 to 20 minutes and it was finished: Passed and Certificate electronically uploaded to DMV. In fact about 12 minutes later when I arrived at AAA in Mountain View to pay the Registration and get the Tags, the AAA Rep stated, "You're all set, your vehicle passed the SMOG test and it's already in the system with the DMV as of 1:14pm, 12/1/2010." I got my tags and was extremely satisfied with AAA Speedy Smog's service and friendly technicians. Thanks a bunch guys! I have been a customer for more than 6 years now, and have referred my Dad, Aunt, cousins, and several friends to AAA Speedy Smog. If you want fast, friendly, knowledgeable service, AAA Speedy Smog is the shop you want to go to! Thanks again!! !! !!

I called a number of places and found this place to be the cheapest. I am very satisfied with the service. The place is clean, the owner is very professional and courteous. Total including certificate is $45.00. Highly recommended. Will go back again.
