Oh so sad, how far this place has fallen.
We used to love Wasabi for its great sushi back in the day.
Then the new owners came. They can't even make edible rice now. That was one sad day.
I won't be back.
Aside from the death stares you get from everyone that works here, this place isn't half bad.
The sushi is great, especially the special rolls. The tropical roll with tuna, mango, salmon dipped in a strawberry sauce is even better then it sounds. I still haven't been able to find it on Long Island yet.
The outside seating is a nice change of scenery. Small but intimate. Quiet but without the feeling that your being forgotten by your waiter.
I always eat here when I'm in Brooklyn. Its those damn tropical rolls! I'm hooked.

This is everything I like in a sushi place.
Decent prices, fresh fish and fast service.
Great spicy tuna roll!
I love their $8 lunch special.
I wouldn't take a date here, but I'd definitely take my own ass here (and do) regularly.
I actually really enjoy the sushi here and have always had nice service. Nice place to go on a rainy day.

I'll keep this short. Sushi is bad. Service is even worse.
I came late for a dinner with friends, and was never even offered a menu. The couple sitting next to us was celebrating and had a bottle of wine. It sat, unopened, for thirty minutes. When they finally got somebody to open the bottle, there were no wine glasses to be found. They gave up, and dumped their water into the nearby planter, so that they could use their glasses to drink the wine.
I'll never go back.

A couple years ago I encountered the worst service possible here and I refuse to go back. I was sick and ordered veggie udon soup to be delivered and I received beef soup. I do not eat beef so I called to ask for a switch and the hostess said that I was lying, and she refused to refund or replace the order. So I decided to walk over and bring the soup back, and asked again for a refund or a replacement in person, and again the hostess loudly accused me of lying in front of a room full of customers.
I'm a pescetarian (I eat fish but no other meat) and I know I did not order the beef soup, and I could not believe how incredibly rude the service was especially since I had walked all the way over.

New owners so the menu has expanded. It's improved. I used to think it was the worst out of the Northside Williamsburg Three: those being Samarai, Miyako, and Wasabi. But it's earning it's keep these days. Don't go on Mondays.

BYOB is always great, and coupled with their great lunch deals- hit this place up between 1 and 4-- pm that is. My spicy tuna roll looked a bit funny, but hey maybe that's why lunch is cheaper. Fast service and yummy tempura. Definitely not a first date kind of place, but perfect for a different lunch choice-- skip the Subway next door and just remember to ask for the window seat.
Really quite good sushi here! And they deliver! Yay for really good sushi, in my house, when I want it....favorites include the spicy tuna hand roll (so much fish in there!) and the salmon dinner - always fresh and buttery tasting! Can't say I've ever eaten inside the actual restaurant, so can't comment on that.

Acceptably good sushi, Wasabi's only real edge over local competitors is that it offers delivery. Here, the inventiveness of the food matches the inventiveness of the restaurant name. Higher quality sushi for similar prices is available nearby at places such as Planet Thailand, Miyako, and Octopus Sushi, but their lack of delivery options makes Wasabi the best local choice for satisfying lazy sushi cravings.

for such a small kitchen, i was surprised to see such, decently well prepared westernized japanese. Sure the food (from both the bar and the kitchen) can be hit or miss, but never 'miss' so far down the line that you just cannot eat it. The service is kinda, what you expect from what you actually see... But, the gem here is delivery, and the kitchen, where apparrently theres one cook who does intend to please the customer. The owner has changed since i last heard. havent been in to notice any changes

Their cooked fare is good, but I've had mixed experiences with the sushi. Rolls are ok, nigiri is hit or miss.
Though, Williamsburg doesn't give you a lot of choices for good sushi anyway, so this is probably as good as any.
i'm not giving this four stars because although the food is actually quite good at a good price, the service is lacking. i've been to many sushi restaurants where they take forever to bring your bill, but at wasabi they didn't take the longest ever so i praise them for that. and they deliver!! that is the best news ever, even though i'm less than five minutes away... some nights i'm pretty damn lazy!
their combo plates are a fantastic deal...so much food for so little money!
I go to the one on Manhattan Avenue and I have always had great service. This is my favorite place to get sushi delivery in my neighborhood. The spicy tuna roll and the shimp tempura rolls are crowd pleasers!
