So I've had 6 treatments on my underarms so far. They say you need between 6-10 sessions. I'd say 6 is not enough, however I have a lot less hair than I did in the beginning. I'd probably say 60% less. For those of you who haven't done anything like this, I'd warn you it is not painless. The procedure does have quick laser pulses which I think hurt a bit at the time of procedure, but I feel fine by the time I've driven home. It also smells a bit like charred hair in the room FYI. The staff are very friendly. The first consultation was hard to schedule but the follow up regular sessions were a snap to get me in. I did not experience any bad side-effects (i.e. burning or bad irritations). I would've given 5 stars, but I'm a baby about the actual lasering itself! However, if you've ever waxed, I'd say this is way better.

The staff is really really nice and punctual and easy to work with.
I felt that I needed to write this post to warn others who may consider getting their laser hair removal done here. I recently went in for my 3rd laser hair removal treatment on my underarms and was complaining about how much more painful it was this time than any of the other times. Even the treatments I had at other businesses was not as painful. Anyway, I went home later that day to find that there were burn marks on my underarms. Pink and brown and painful when I took a shower.
I called them immediately the next business day and they made time for me to come into the office right away. That was great.
Kathy took a look at my underarms and gave me a cream to help encourage healing.
I asked her if the same settings were used as my prior times and she said that the setting was turned higher. I was upset because I was telling the nurse that I had felt a lot of pain this time and she didn't offer to lower the setting.
So Kathy responds by saying that it's my skin.
I have tan skin that easily tans and is difficult to burn. I had not changed medication or detergents or lotions or anything. The only thing that changed is the setting on the laser machine.
Anyway, it's been a week and there is a definite dark brown visible scar over my bra line. If I had some event or photos that needed to get done, I would be horrified. I'm hoping that these scars are not permanent and will go away soon, but unfortunately they are still dark and visible and look like bad curling iron burns..... near my underarms so when I wear a tank top, the burn marks are visible.
The staff is really great, but I don't trust going back to this place again for any treatment. I don't think it's worth getting burned with potential of scarring. It shouldn't be this way. I've had 5 sessions of laser hair removal at other businesses and never got burned like this. I'm really disappointed. I know they're going to say that I'm the only case that's gotten burn marks like this but I don't care.

I only give this place two stars because of their outstanding customer service and friendly employees. I really want to like this place but unfortunately the results of my laser treatments leave my with no results and a lot lighter wallet.
I heard about this place through Groupon where I purchased six treatments. After this experience I'll probably never purchase two Groupons for laser treatments until I've seen results. At first I saw some minor results, some gradual thinning and small amounts of loss. However, the results stopped increasing and I seemed to be stuck. However, I continued my treatments past the 6 under the impression it could take up to 10 treatments. By treatment 8 I was suspicion that I had seen maybe only 30% hair loss or thinning, and that might be generous. After treatment number nine I decided to stop treatments as it began to feel like I was flushing money down the drain. It has been approximately 10 weeks since my last treatment and now I know it was definitely a waste of money. I have 100% of my hair back!! This was a waste of time and money.
I should also say that I have been classified here and at other salons as the "ideal candidate" for laser. I am fair skinned with very dark hair. I was told my treatments should be on the lower end of 6-8 sessions. I have now done treatments on other areas at different salons. After one treatment at another salon I have seen approximately 80% hair loss/thinning and it has already been 7 weeks since my treatment. My guess is the laser at Youthful Reflection is not strong enough to provide noticeable and lasting results.
I spent well over $1000 in relation to my treatments at Youthful Reflection and I have nothing to show for it. Very nice people, but don't waste your money on their laser treatments.Comment from Kathy B. of A Youthful Reflection 12/20/2011

So far, so good! After 5 laser hair removal treatments, I am more than pleased with the result! I have had laser hair removal on three areas at three different places, and A Youthful Reflection is my favorite so far! The laser is significantly less painful than other places and the result is just as good, if not better. At another business, I have had burns on each of my first two treatments, but I've never had a burn from here. Everyone's results are different, I suppose, but I have absolutely nothing to complain about! (Oh....and I have light/medium skin that tans easily with dark hair...so I was a pretty good candidate from the start...)

The staff here are friendly and accomodating. I went here for underarm treatments and it really makes a difference and cuts down on the frequency of shaving/waxing.

I have had 6 laser treatments (bikini area) and the result so far is great. The staff is friendly and my technician has been really good. It does hurt more than I thought when I started, but it only takes about 5 minutes, so it is tolerable.

Thanks to Groupon my vajayjay has been tickled by the laser hair removal system here at A Youthful Reflection. And when I say tickled, I mean little pleasantly painful zaps on my sensitive area! :P
I get off work pretty late so my appointments have always been right before they close. And somehow the place is always PACKED when I get there, usually I'm there right on time for my appointment and sometimes I'll have to wait 5-10 min before I can see the nurse to do my laser hair removal treatment. The RN nurse that does the procedure is very quick, friendly and pretty good at her job. I mean, it must be a tough job having to see certain body parts on certain peeps ya don't ever wanna see! :-0
So far I've only had 2 treatments and they are about 6 weeks out from each other and I've already noticed certain areas on my coochalooch growing less hair. Whooo hoo! After 10 years of literally shaving twice a day, I can finally...hopefully in a few months cut down on the shaving. Yes people have told me to just go wax that ish off but I'm not too fond of having to GROW it out before you can wax it off. GROSS OUT! I like my pornstar status vag just the way it is thank you! Smooth and sexy 24/7 baby.
Anywhoo, no problems so far here, although it would have been nice to know that the Groupon I purchased for 6 treatments for the "standard bikini" means only zapping the outer area of my v-a-g and not the entire thing. You can pay an extra $25 each session (which is what I'm doing) for extended bikini or pay $50 each session for brazilian (meaning ur A-hole is gonna get zapped too!).
I'm sure as I get more treatments in I won't be as sensitive and jumpy to the zippity-zaps of the laser. -

Purchased 6 laser sessions for $300 through a Groupon deal, based on a friend's referral.
A Youthful Reflection has strange hours so I'd suggest making an appointment far in advance as they fill up quickly and run multiple deals through Groupon.
The laser procedure has been relatively painless. A Youthful Reflection uses a laser with a cold compress then the laser zap. The cold compress numbs the area so you barely feel any pain. The laser strength increases with each appointment.
I've completed 5 laser sessions and experienced 70% hair removal. I think I might need to purchase 1-2 more individual sessions to get the full effect.
The staff is friendly and the technician I've gone to has been really nice, attentive and quick with the laser treatment. -

I have only had the laser hair removal procedure done here. I have completed 6 sessions under the arms so far. I've had one nurse for the first 3 sessions and a different nurse for the last 3. At my 5th session, they had a new laser machine. Both machines worked fine for me. I have about 40% hair reduction from my left underarm and about 60% reduction from my right. I understand that it typically takes 6-10 sessions for a good amount of reduction, so I have been happy with the results thus far. (Note that 100% reduction is not a guarantee and you can read about that in any legit website about laser hair removal.) My most recent appointment happened to fall a couple of weeks before I went to Hawaii and it was so nice not having to worry about shaving or plucking for the entire week of my vacation!
The office setting is very professional, like a dental office with private rooms. I get an appointment reminder call from them about two business days beforehand. There has always been at most one other patient in the waiting room whenever I had an appointment, which tells me that they NEVER overbook their patients nor try to rush through patients. I appreciate that because EVERY appointment I have had with them has ALWAYS started on time.
I have two toddlers, and I love that they're welcome to come with me to my appointment as it is hard to find a babysitter for just 15 minutes. (This was the selling point for me. Otherwise I couldn't get this procedure done in the first place.) They have clean toys in their waiting room and allow my kids to bring them into the patient room while I have the procedure done, which takes less than 5 minutes.
Nurses and staff are all very nice and professional. My only suggestion is that I would love to see a smile on the main receptionist's face. ;-) And my only concern is that the receptionist books the next appointment out by 4 weeks every time. I guess I question why the nurse doesn't suggest a return time based on my results as I imagine every person reacts differently to each procedure. But I'm happy with how my hair reduction has been going, so I'm not complaining...just wondering.

Well, it's been a good few months after my 3 sessions of laser hair removal..
For my sister's results (since she's always waxed before and needed to shave to get the treatments done) definitely WORSE than if she never got it done at all. Her hair was already thin and very little, she wanted to get laser to completely remove it so she didn't have to wax anymore. Since they told her that she needed to start shaving, she did.. and after 3 sessions, her hair now is extremely thick, sometimes has ingrowns, and there's definitely more than before.
For myself, I've always shaved my underarms and initially there was some hair reduction, but after a few months I definitely don't see any improvements and my underarms look as if they haven't gone through any treatments at all.
Like I've said, I never looked for optimum results. I just wanted a little permanent reduction cuz my underarms have more hair than the usual. I know it takes 6-10 and I only did 3 treatments.. like I said, I was only testing the waters. I learned about them through a Groupon which saved me half the money of the treatments.
Very friendly, very quick appointments. I'm doing laser on my face and on my 6th treatment. So far, I probably need a few more. They use a very cold metal object to cool the skin before each movement they shoot the laser at me, that really makes a difference with the treatments. I have not had any issues with my skin after leaving but it could be because I have oily skin for the most part.
The place is very close to Hwy 880 and Santana Row. The building looks like an old house, but with very nice offices inside. Friendly staff. I'm usually in and out within 10 minutes!
I've recommended them to my husband whom I think will be using them too. They were also kind enough to offer some discounts once my Groupon was used up. -

Groupon brought me to this place. I usually get in and out very quickly, so I love this about this place. Kathy is a very nice person, if you have any concern, she can answer and listen to you very carefully.
The office is small but very clean and neat. I really like Kathy, who gave me the treatment throughout my package of 6 treatments and I used the package for underarm. I am very pleased with Kathy how she treats customers, I did not leave any feedback after I think I give myself enough time to see how effective the treatments went. I did not expect it to be a miracle that all hairs will be completely gone.
After 6 treatments, my underarm hairs were reduced from 100% to 15%, I would say that I was sooo happy with the result as it goes. However, after my last treatment (the 6th treatment), i did not shave for a couple weeks to see how much hairs would grow back so that I could plan for my next appointment. I feel little disappointed because after a few weeks now, my hairs start growing back, about 30-35%, they look lighter than before though, but idk.. I just kinda hope it could be a little better than it is right now, at least, it should stay only 15% as of the last time I got treatment. I've had 4 treatments on my underarms, and most of it is gone. The staff and Ms. Bragg are very friendly. The technician always works quickly and coaches me through! Too bad some have had not-so-good-results, but I'm very happy with A Youthful Reflection. Money well spent!

I found A Youthful Reflection through a Groupon purchase- a 3 session package. When I first went in for a consultation, I was impressed because the staff were very friendly and clear with their answers to my questions.
What's more important is the actual laser hair removal treatment. I decided to do my underarms, and I was pleased with the reduction. After the 3 sessions via Groupon, I decided to continue my treatments (They say that it takes about 6-10 treatments to completely remove everything). I was hoping that I would be one of the lucky few who wouldn't need more than 6 treatments, but unfortunately, I'm not. Bummer. I'll be going in for a couple more treatments though so hopefully, it'll be all gone soon!
Overall, my experience here is good. Definitely worth giving a try, especially if you can snatch one of those Groupon deals. -

I discovered this place through groupon. The staff is friendly and professional. However, their hair removal devices DO NOT work!!! They do not use REAL laser machines, they use IP lights which in my opinion show NO results. Google it. There are big differences between the two techniques. I went for 3 sessions and saw no change at all. Don't waste your time or money!
If you advertise for laser hair removal then you should use real laser technology. I didn't go back after three treatments because I saw ZERO results for the amount of pain that I had to go through during the appt....not to mention the extra cash. Kathy found me on yelp and had me do some work in her house - I found out that her husband is a Chiropractor so I decided to give him a try - Keep in mind that I already had a Chiropractor that I had been using for over 15 years - I was so impressed with Todd's professionalism - He is very knowledgeable and you can totally tell he takes pride in what he does - In business you have individuals that just work for a living and then you have those that are passionate about what they do - Todd is a stand up guy and his experience and well rounded knowledge sets him apart - My daughter was having pain in her back so I took her to visit Todd and she was very happy I did

I give this place two stars for their friendly service. I have been to three different laser hair removal places and I feel like this place was a scam. I bought a groupon and after 6 treatments did not see any results. I went to another place that price was similiar without a groupon deal and saw results after 2 treatments. I rather pay a little more and see results then pay less and just get sting by a laser!

I had a horrible experience with this place. I waited a total of 11 weeks for my first appointment after my original appointment was canceled. I showed up to my appointment and completed my paper work. Then the receptionist told me she has to reschedule my appointment b/c the girl has to leave. I wished she had told me this when I first came, so I didn't have to waste 20 minutes waiting! Whatever happened to customer service? I took time out of work and drive from Redwood City. So, I was quite upset ! Also, in talking to another client there, she said that, as a Groupon client, she felt like she's being pushed through an assembly line, and they are cutting corners. There is no quality service! I'm willing to forfeit my groupon then to come back to this place again.

I discovered this place through Groupon. I've had laser hair removal before so I only needed to touch up my brazilian area. The first thing that upset me was that I had to pay extra $50 per treatment to do a brazilian. Aside from that, I was really unimpressed with the results of my first, second, and third treatments. I've gove through this before (with more hair) and I know that the results by the third time should have been a lot more successful than they were at Youthful Reflection. Even after expressing my concerns, I kind of got the shrug response. It really bothers me b/c I've done this before and had better results faster! I get annoyed that I still have to shave every day. To say the least, I was really unhappy with my experience at this place.
This place has a few good reviews. In light of this, I will say that Kathy is a nice lady and maybe her machine is not appropriate for my skin type - tan with dark hair. Maybe her machine works on people with lighter skin tones. But this is something that the owner should know and take into consideration when treating patients.
If you're looking for a laser place, my advice is to call first and ask what type of laser machine they've got and find out how new it is, then research online to see what the reviews are on that particular machine for your skin type.

Kathy let me know that they are using new equipment since the last time I was there. I went back to give it a try. I am totally amazed! After just one treatment, I can see more than a 50% reduction in hair growth. As before, Kathy and her staff are friendly and efficient. Their new location is great too. I have never gone anywhere else for laser hair treatments, but I am very satisfied with my experience and results!

Ive been going to both Kathy and Todd for years. What a great experience. Todd is a great chiropractor while Kathy gets my skin and hair in tip top shape. I'm of mixed nationality and was concerned that my hair removal would be difficult. The procedure goes smoothly as you get the area cooled before the device goes over your skin. Kathy has done hair removal rom my face, underarms, legs and bikini area. Ive been to other places before and didn't see any results however with Kathy I am pleasantly surprised that I don't have to shave my legs or underarms anymore!! How awesome is that! As for my face and bikini area that's still in progress and I will be in soon for more treatments.
Some hair is stubborn and Kathy lets you know that everyone is a little different. The prices are fair and the procedure isn't painful. You feel a little zap, maybe a sting but the cold device numbs the area enough. For people with really sensitive skin you can always use lydacaine however I have eczema and I'm fine. All in all I love going because it is a friendly, family atmosphere that isn't overpriced. I jokingly tell her that her device is doing such a good job that I'm running out of reasons to come in since soon I will be completely hairless! -

Small, family-owned, and low in cost. I'm getting laser hair removal treatment here and I only have good things to say so far.
After being scammed by BriteSmile (see my review) this is a nice change. The decor is a bit outdated and the lobby is nothing fancy but Dr. Braggs has assured me time and time again that she would be the one administering each treatment. She took the time to explain everything with me without sale pitches or any pressure. They don't offer packages but the prices are low enough to buy them individually. This eliminates the risk if the company were to go out of business and you lose your prepaid money.
The laser hair removal machine that they use is definitely one of the nicer ones. They don't use that gross gel; instead the machine blows cold air and it doesn't hurt at all. It was less painful than BriteSmile and I had to use lidocaine then! Also, with each pulse, the machine covers more surface area so the treatments are much faster.
I haven't tried out any of their services but I believe they also offer massage, chiropractic, and acne treatment services.
Note: I believe their scheduling is still quite busy because of the Groupon promotion from a few months ago. -

Kathy is a wonderful person and the service is great. If you are new to laser, it is best to do the research and then get into this treatment. The results are not the same for all so it can be frustrating if you are not patient or are not ready to spend more than you planned.

I found this through groupon and I'm so happy with the results. I've had 5 sessions for my underarm and my hair is about 90% gone. Actually I saw a big difference even after the first 2 sessions. My complexion is fair and I have dark hair so this combination really work well for laser hair removal, it's true that for lighter hair, your results might not be as significant as what I experienced.
The consultation with Dr. Bragg went really well, she was very nice. After that, I had others who did my actually appointment but honestly, the appointments went so quickly (under 10 minutes each) and was so simple that it's really fine to have others do my actual sessions. I really appreciated that they have a cold wand that actually cools down the area before the laser did its work. The pain was really not bad and it like a short shock.
The underarm sessions are $70 each and after checking around it's probably one of the best deals you can find in this area. Overall I'm pretty happy, really excited to not deal with the annoying hair anymore! -

I've gone twice to A Youthful Reflection and will be going a minimum of four more times. I purchased two GroupOn's which bulked three treatments into a phenomenal fee of $125 for certain areas, with the option to pay a fee for a few excluded areas. Overall I'm very happy with my experiences so far.
There has been absolutely no sales pitch to try and get me to sign up for more sessions or do more areas - although I've already made a list in my head for all the other areas I am going to have done! You usually pay by appointment/area so you do not have to come up with some huge bulk amount and are not indebted to go so many times because you paid for them (with the exception of the GroupOn deal I bought)
The office decor is okay, the decor is outdated and it looks a little dingy, but not dirty! The staff is friendly and Dr. Bragg's puts you right at ease even when doing more embarrassing areas!
I am already noticing a difference in my underarms after two treatments and cannot wait until I am hair free! -

I had my first hair removal on my underarms with Dr. Lee at Bizmed. I agree with Bubba S. below that by the first treatment I saw at least 40% reduction, and by the third treatment, it was reduced by around 75%. By the time I finished my 6th session, I'm glad to say that I'm about 99% hair free.
I love the result so much so I decided to have both my lower legs and bikini done. I continued my lower leg treatment with Dr. Lee. However, for the Bikini, I wanted to do Brazilian and would much prefer the treatment to be performed by a woman so I decided to go with Youthful Reflection during the Groupon promotion.
Frankly, I was at first hesitant when I saw a few negative reviews about the results. However, since my first experience with my underarms was great, and I have very dark and thick hair, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and moved forward with the purchase. I purchased 2 groupons for $300 and paid an extra $50/session.
I started the treatment for both areas around the same time and now have completed 4 treatments. Surprisingly, the result on my lower legs is much better than my underarms. After 4 treatments, it feels as if I'm already hair free. Unfortunately, as for bikini, after 4 treatments, I barely see any result at all. If anything, I would say it's less than 20% reduction. For the amount that I pay, $100/session, I'm quite disappointed. I purchased 6 laser sessions for full face laser hair removal through a groupon deal. This review comes in a little late as I finished all the 6 sessions about 6 months back but I am compelled to write it due to the extremely poor results.
ZERO improvement in my hair growth.
I still have to wax my upper lip every 10 days, just like it was before the laser treatment. And every time I have to wax my face, I am reminded of the $300 I wasted at this place. I understand that the results vary from person to person and I might need more sessions. But absolutely NO REDUCTION in hair even after 6 sessions isn't what I expected. I would not give them a bad review had I seen even a 20% improvement. But their laser machines just didn't work for me.
Oh and on my last treatment, they told me they had a new, better laser equipment now. And I obviously asked if I was being treated on an ineffective machine until now. ok, just like lots of reviewers here, i purchased 2 groupons for 6 treatments ( $300 ). I actually read the comments at groupon before i purchased them. There was comment of a previous customer which was not good for youthful reflection, but i didnt take it seriously. I thought each body is different, and i might have different experience. I admit I was WRONG. If you want hair removal DONT think about trying it at this place.
I will try not to waste my time and write this long. This is my experience with them. i actually went through 5 sessions. they took one session off b/c i didnt show up 1 time. Well, i totally forgot the appointment b/c they are usually 1 month apart at least. I told them that b/c they usually call ahead and remind me about the coming appointment, but this time, they did not. So next appointments, they didnt even want to call me in person, but let a automatic machine talked to me. "good customer service" right. I must say most of the staff there are ok. I like technicians better then receptionists (i just cant like a receptionist whom i think never really treat me friendly.)
Anyway, the hair is still growing. Accourding to the technician the hair that they killed are dead. The new cycle of hair is growing. This is y i have hair is still growing which mean i still have to come and spend my $$ there until no more new cycle of hair grow, eheheh, cool right? And yup, my hair is still growing just like nothing ever happened.
I give it 2 stars for the quick service. I got there, waited about 5 mins, and the sessions are about 5 mins or less long.
One more thing, Kathy who replies to most of the 3 stars and below reviews seems to be a good responder. i understand that she doesnt want her business be graded bad. But if she should understand that we will never come back to that place again, so stop pursuing us to come back and "discuss" more. And stop thinking we are writing reviews here b/c we r hate u ( well, i hope u dont have these much enemies). Oh and about the comment that i read on groupon, i think kathy and that person had a big "discussion" at that time. I dont remember exactly word by word , but i can say she was at least at the borderline of exposing client's privacy which violates HIPPA. She just want people to believe in her and she is never wrong. I dont blame anyone, b/c i listened to her words too.
This place often posts lots of promotions like at groupon, social living with less and less price, so if you dont believe me and want to through ur $$ out of the window, pls try it. I'm currently having treatments at another place. I found a Youthful Reflection on Groupon because they were running a great special. This was my first experience with laser hair removal. Kathy is fabulous. She is very thorough and upfront when explaining the procedure and what to expect. After the first session, I couldn't believe that such a painless procedure could be so effective. IT IS!! This morning I completed my fourth session on my under arms and upper lip. I have noticed hair reduction in both areas--especially my under arms. It is wonderful to not have to wax and shave like I used to.

I don't know how helpful this rating will be, but the customer service was excellent. I purchased a packaged deal on http://livingsocial.com before I knew that we potentially could move to Texas. I talked to http://livingsocial.com that worked as a middleman and they executed my refund instantly. I then spoke with Youthful Reflection and the lady that assisted me was very kind and understanding. She canceled my appointment on the spot. Thank you. Found this place through Groupon. Staff is very nice but the laser hair removal doesn't work. I have dark hair and fair skin, which is supposed to the be the easiest combo when it comes to removing unwanted hair, and I have a lot of friends who have had great success with laser hair removal and they have told me that I should be seeing a clear reduction in hair by now and I'm not. Some hair seemed to fall out after treatments but then grew back!

I discovered this practice through Groupon. Agreed that Dr. Bragg is a very nice lady. However, her laser machine has NOT removed my unwanted hair after 8 treatments. Each time I returned, I would personally ask Dr. Bragg to turn on the temperature to a stronger setting. I mean... isn't she already supposed to without me even asking?! It got to a point when I thought to myself, "Is she purposely turning the setting horribly low, so that I will keep returning (and pay more $$$) due to the poor results?!" She kept reassuring me that it was due to that region of my face which was "stubborn".
I gave her the benefit of the doubt and kept returning to give her my business. After 8 long treatments and a waste of $320 down the drain, I GAVE UP. In the past, I had laser treatments and they were able to successfully diminished my unwanted hair after 6 treatments. Anyways, to make a long story short, they relocated and therefore I decided to give Dr. Bragg a shot. Unfortunately, her equipment is terribly obsolete and will NOT guarantee results. $40 a treatment is cheap, however you get what you pay for. Please learn from my mistake which I dreadfully regret. I will do extensive research on future Doctors to ensure they truly reputable.
**UPDATE 01/12/11**: In reference to Dr. Bragg's comment - You are unable locate records of me because not everyone uses their legal name on social networks. I have no reason to falsify my review above because it doesn't bring me any personal gain. I understand you are attempting to salvage this situation. However, you failed to provide results for services that I've paid for. I chose not to respond to you because there isn't anything you can possibly do to offer a remedy. I have been going to A Youthful Reflection for quite a while now. Their new machines are awesome! I am always very well informed and have seen great results following the schedule they gave me. If you are looking for a great place for hair removal, this is it. All the staff are very kind and informative.
