We stayed at the Hideaway. It was small but cozy. The bathroom was huge with a large jacuzi. We really enjoyed that. We stayed for 2 nights. The bed was a little old but it had nice soft sheets. The fireplace is just for looks - so it doesnt give out heat, but it was very calming.
They do have a heater a very old fashioned heater which worked just fine. It was an older room so I thought the price was a bit too much but we didnt complain too much.
The breakfast was on time and hot!
Although me personally, didnt like the quiche the first time, it was still fairly good. My husband didnt seemed to complain. I loved the fresh fruit salad and the warm pastry. The orange juice that came in a mason jar was enough for the two of us - we both had 2 glasses of OJ.
I loved that they came with a basket with real napkins and not one of those paper ones.
What I really loved the most about this place though - and was absolutely worth every penny - was their garden. The hideaway has sort of its own private garden and the jasmine on the small patio smelled heavenly.
The inn is 5 minutes away from state street which is really upscale and upbeat. It has some great rest varying from all kinds of ethnic food as well as good old American food.
The outer garden was calm and serene. The little swing which was really old and rusty managed to lift my spirits up as I swung gently back and forth. Over all I love this place even though it was a tad bit on the pricier side. -

Clean Nice room. It was the Nouveau Suite with a jacuzzi that was almost too big for me and my wife ha.
The man that manages the place could not be nicer.
I did think it was odd that the room being a suit did not have a flat Tv, so I was unable to hook up my ipad using Hdmi. Some other rooms they rent have flat tv and microwave ours did not as a suite.
I thought the breakfast was quite good, it was a egg and veggie sandwich with a bowl of fruit.I would have wished for some choice for the meal, like a meat choice and any kind of potato or toast with jam or even butter, but I still think the taste was good. And so was the presentation. Also it came with OJ in a mas-sin jar yum.
Over all I my wife and I had a great time, the room was so close too all the site seeing we walked mostly and only drove to the mission.
FREE WIFI! AND COOKIES YES COOKIES! -

Our first B&B.
So we didn't know what to expect. First impression didn't seem to justify the price. We are long time satisfied time-share owners and are used to the modern comfort they offer. We thought we would give this B&B a try for our anniversary after reading some good reviews on yelp.
We were not disappointed. What White Jasmine didn't offer in modern luxury more than made up in its simple relaxation. We booked the Nouveau Suite for two nights. We had our own private patio and jacuzzi under the stars. The room itself was spacious for two. The bed, robe, pillows were all very comfortable. My wife had a great night sleep on the first night... and that's saying a lot for her. Breakfast on both days were excellent. No complaints there. John, the innkeeper, was very friendly and had some great stories to tell.
A White Jasmine Inn is a good representation of Santa Barbara herself. Relaxation, rejuvenation and enough action to suit anyone's taste. Thanks for the memories - we will never forget our experiences here. -

Stayed here in the Hideaway room for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. I liked how the room had a private entrance and felt secluded. The large jacuzzi tub was so relaxing and everything was very clean. I loved the robes it came with. Breakfast was phenomenal, one morning we got an egg croissant sandwich, and pancakes another with fresh fruit and OJ delivered in a basket. The free wi-fi is a nice perk too.
The only things we didn't enjoy about the room was the squeaky bed, the shades are not dark so it was very bright in the morning and hard to sleep in, and there's a lot of knick-knacks in the room. I guess that's normal for a B&B, but it's a pretty small room with limited space to put your things down, so it made it difficult to make use of the space. Also, the room has a small radiator which worked pretty well in the bedroom, but the bathroom area was quite chilly any time you went in there.
I was hoping this would be walking distance to more places on State St, but it turned out to be a bit further from the bars and restaurants than we thought so it was about a $6 cab each way. -

I stayed here with "The Love of my life" after two years appart. This was our first road trip together and without planning anything in advance White Jasmine provided the perfect setting. It was as charming as it was romantic.
We stayed in a very cozy and private room conveniently located on the side of the house. It had its own private outdoor jacuzzi and small patio area. The room was very clean, cozy and nostalgic. The breakfast was on time and very yummy.
The owner and operator was as kind as they come. We were very blessed to have found this BNB and would recommend to anyone.
If your looking for something modern then this is not the place for you. White Jasmine is a romantic nostalgic experience perfect for relaxing. :)

Ladera Ranch, CA
So this past week my hubby and I decided to stay at a Bed and Breakfast for the first time after deciding to take a spontaneous trip to Santa Barbara.
For Starters let talk about Location:
The Location is the Best part of this Inn since its right by State Street and some cool Wineries.(Carr and Whitcraft Wineries) We checked in around 4 and being that this was our first time at a B&B I felt like we where staying at my grandmas house. (not a bad thing) The Inn looks like and old well kept Victorian House and the landscaping is amazing. Some shady people do tend to wonder late at night however they have some parking in the back which insures your car safety.
Our room:
We stayed in the "Lavender Room" which after entering it, it totally made sense. Florals and Pastel colors all around (once again reminded me of my Grandmas House not a bad thing). The room comes with an uber small TV and a Spa that well lets just say the bathtub in my house is a lot more exciting than this so call "SPA" their was no water pressure which made the whole experience so and so.
The BED:
Lets just say that the Bed was so Squeaky that if you made the slightest movement everyone in the house would hear (Just like my Grandmas house, this time its a bad thing) The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable that the whole point of this trip was for me to get lucky and well mamma did not get lucky! :(
The Breakfast:
Now just simply for this reason I would come back in a heartbeat. Breakfast arrived at our door at its schedule time in the cutest basket. Fresh fruit, an Omelet and the most delicious Carrot Bread (freshly made) and some orange juice made up for the crappy nigh we had.
Overall experience:
For a first timer staying at a B&B I realized hotels are a lot quieter and more secluded. However the concept of it I liked and I would consider staying at another B&B, just not this one! -

The first night we stayed in the Santa Ynez room and it was very private and was much larger than I expected it to be. It is not in the main house, but rather, just around the corner. This posed no problem at all for us. Because the online photos of it looked so nice, I booked the Craftsman room for our second night. It is in the main house, has a fireplace, huge bed, and a deck with a hot tub. It is just as nice as it appears to be in the photos. I think it is the converted dining room from the original floor plan of the house. The breakfast was very good - egg, mushrooms and hollandaise on a ciabatta bun with a huge side of fruit. Easy to find street parking and parking behind the house; free wi-fi; friendly and helpful innkeepers; lovely and quiet neighborhood. Very happy that we found this place.

We have stayed here many times, and let me say I have loved it every time. You get your own private jacuzzi and you own sitting area. The breakfast is always on time time and yummy. It is perfect for how close it is to State Street which we walked every night. They are very sweet and do their best to make you happy, what ever we asked for we received. I also was not feeling well and he went out of his way to ask if i was feeling better, in a hotel they could careless about you, they just want you out for the next guest. I never felt unwanted here, I will be back, we always stay here. The best rooms are the Nouveau Suite Little more money but you are paying for the privacy. Also enjoyed the craftsman room. Can not wait to go back. Thank you for a wonderful anniversary.

This place is so amazing, I kind of don't want to review it because I want to keep it all to myself... but, I'm awesome, and I unfortunately feel a duty to you people (plus I want this place to stay in business FOREVER), so I'll give you all the low down. :)
There are so many awesome things about this place, I had to make a list. I'm currently sitting here, writing this review while getting my boyfriend's opinion, and he won't shut up about how fantastic the White Jasmine Inn is. Here is a list, from both of us:
Pros: Super precious, well landscaped, each room has its own unique theme, breakfast is freaking out of this world, owners are so nice and friendly, the location is unbeatable (two blocks from State St.!), affordable pricing (they're doing specials right now because of the bad economy), free cookies every afternoon (om nom nom!!), free coffee/tea, the free parking in the back is so awesome (your car won't get jacked/side-swiped on the street!)
Cons: The shower situation is nothing to write home about. The jacuzzi tub is nifty, but we ended up not using it. There wasn't enough water pressure, and you had to hold the shower handle in order to really wash yourself off properly. The street itself is kind of noisy, so sometimes at night I would be woken up by loud motorcycles (we chose to keep the windows open for a fresh breeze.)
Also, if you have a big vehicle (I'm looking at you, Hummer drivers), forget about parking in the parking lot. A lot of people parked like morons (not the owners fault, I guess some people just never learned how to park within the lines) and the drive way is narrow. We were fine, but we were also in a Prius.
With that said, there is no way this place doesn't deserve 5 stars. This place has convinced my boyfriend to never, ever stay in hotels/motels ever again (he is now a B&B fan!) It was clean, well kept, the bed was incredibly comfortable... seriously, I could go on and on. And did I mention the location?! 2 blocks from State St., and while it is a far WALK to the beach, you could always hop on that bus that goes up and down State St.
Stay here... I promise you won't regret it! Also, although you probably already know this from my other reviews, my bf and I are young and broke, and we could afford to stay here and were treated really well by the owners. And if you have any questions about the White Jasmine, feel free to shoot me a message! -

We spent a week in the Bordeaux Suite. Nice little place. Though we didn't do any cooking (it has a small kitchen) it was nice to have the extra space for a long stay. The suite was clean and comfortable. The bed was not the greatest, but I will admit that we are kind of attached to our Tempurpedic. Even so, I think this mattress was a little worn.
John, the manager, was very friendly. We were busy about town and visiting with an old friend so we didn't have much interaction other than check-in and check-out. We did make the first social hour and had fun chatting with John and the other guests in attendance.
The breakfast basket delivered to our door each morning was really nice. This style of breakfast was great for us since we enjoy sleeping in and are all about eating breakfast in our pajamas. The food was very good. It was warm and delivered right on time each morning.
If you're up for some exercise, take the heel-toe express over a couple of blocks to State Street and head towards the ocean. There are lots of shops to meander in and out of along the way so be sure to plan for several hours. -

My husband and I went for our 9 year anniversary. We stayed in the Bordeaux Suite. It was really cute, small TV, bed was comfy. The spa tub was GREAT! Breakfast was tasty: frittata, danish, fresh cut fruit, and OJ. There was a coffee pot in the room.
The suite had a full kitchen, we didn't really utilize it. But it was handy to have a fridge and freezer.
Overall, really liked this place. -

My sister-in-law was in town for a couple weeks and my wife and I wanted to show her a good time. We went on a road trip to San Diego and stopped off in Santa Barbara for a night at the White Jasmine Inn. We booked the room on-line and I gave our names so he would anticipate three people. We get there and he acts surprised and says we need to pay an extra $36 for the third person...after we were quoted a price on-line already. He said we didn't select three people in the "pull-down" menu and therefore he didn't realize there were going to be three of us. He later states he noticed that I gave three names but failed to make the connection. So it seems like an oversight on his part, yet we still got charged the extra $.
We stayed in the Summertime Suite located across the street from the main house. There is parking in the rear, which is convenient, but the B&B is located in a busy neighborhood street, that had some questionable people hanging around. It is located near downtown, so that was a plus, but overall the room is not worth the money, as it lacks charm compared to other places we've stayed. The breakfast was good, however; we had eggs benedict with fruit and juice.
All in all, we were expecting a lot more from this place. We definitely won't go back if we find ourselves in SB again. -

It really bums me out that everyone on Yelp seemed to have had a good time here except for me.
Let's start with the pros. The B&B here is very quaint and I love how it's so close to the stores. But the best part was breakfast. It wasn't your usual B&B continental breakfast but it was a picnic basket delivered right to your room with the most amazing french toast I've ever had. It was topped with some sort of homemade jam and every time you took a bite of it, a party went on in your mouth.
Now with the cons. I initially wanted to stay in the garden room (the cheapest room with a private spa) but due to the 2-night policy on weekends, I sucked it up and paid more money to stay in the lavender room, all for the private spa. But once I tried it out, it never got to work. So when I was checking out, I mentioned that their spa was defective and he had the nerve to tell me that I did something wrong.
I was looking forward to the entire weekend because of the spa and when it didn't work and the employee was rude about it, it kind of ruined the entire weekend. -

Very cute B&B! Parking on the street is not difficult at all, and you walk through the loveliest wildflower garden before you get to the door. Our room was on the second floor, overlooking the street. We had the Wild Rose room so we had both the fireplace and the private spa. It was very clean, cute, and cozy. The bed and pillows were phenomenal and you felt like you just melted into them. Breakfast was delicious, and delivered to our door in a picnic basket.
The only downside was that there was a curfew on using the private spa. The water and the jets run really, really loud so they ask that you not use the spa after 10 PM. -

Stayed here MLKJ weekend for a night and really enjoyed it. The owners let us check in two hours early so we could shower up after picking rotted fruit all morning in an effort to feed the homeless...that story to be told on a later date.
We stayed in the Hideaway Room, which was very small, but cozy. The bathroom had a whirlpool tub with plenty of room for two, so we didn't venture out to the jacuzzi even though you can reserve "private time". Shame too, as my gentlemen friend really wanted to make use of our complimentary indoor/outdoor robes.
The room also has a teeny tiny flat screen tv hanging miles away from the bed, so bring your glasses. And there's a mini-fridge and coffee machine in the bathroom which we made use of. In the morning you do indeed get that cute little breakfast basket delivered at the time of your choice: 8:30/9/9:30. We were served some sort of eggs benedict mexican style, which I didn't eat because yolks give me the heebies. The oj was fresh and the fruit was yummy so I was a happy b&b'er.
The location is great. Nice little ten minute walk from State Street. Great for digesting and sobering up. And the price was BEYOND reasonable for a B&B in Santa Barbara. Would definitely stay here again. -

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA
This place is charming and an amazing deal on the weekdays.
My husband and I spent our 10th anniversary here and booked the Victorian Suite. It had a lovely sitting room, two beautiful fireplaces and the smallest bathroom I have ever seen . Cute, but really tiny. However, the two big fluffy bath robes and the comfortable bed more than made up for it.
The location was perfect. It was less than a ten minute walk to State Street and all of the shops and restaurants. We made dinner reservations up the street at the Bouchon and walked. Very relaxing and romantic.
We are true "foodies" and breakfast was beyond YUMMY!!!!!! The innkeeper arrived at our door in the morning with a darling wicker basket filled with a warm and wonderful egg dish, fresh fruit and OJ. We were both really surprised by just how good the food was! It was a chilly December morning, so we ate breakfast in our sitting room, however, they have a beautiful garden in the back of the main house with plenty of places to enjoy your breakfast when the weather is warm.
This was our first time here, but it won't be our last.
Did someone say that they had an outside hot tub? I guess we must have missed it. -
Review from Amie C.
This place deserves 5-stars all around!
Location: Very convenient. It's a short 5-minute-or-less walk to State St. which is really all you need because from there you can just take the shuttle to wherever you want to go. Street parking nearby was easy to find, but they do offer on-site parking as well.
Room: We stayed in the Summertime Suite. It looks like a little girls room, but you just need to look past that and it can be very romantic. It has a private entrance, free wi-fi, jacuzzi tub, mini fridge, coffee maker, and I think it had a microwave but I'm not so sure about that anymore. The bedroom has a queen-size bed and air conditioning.
Free wine and appetizers (crackers, cheese, spread) around 4. Very friendly staff of two. Nice to have friendly chatter with other guests and get drunk off of the wine. They brought out 2 large pitchers of it while we were there, and I think I drank most of it. Goooood times. -

Outside our door was a guy working in his garage. It was strange, very strange. And the steam/shower thing was broken. Breakfast was good. Short walk to shops and restaurants.
Wouldn't return because it felt like we were in a remodeled garage. -

A solid three star b&b. Would I choose to go back? No. Would I be upset if it was my only option? No.
This place is located in downtown Santa Barbara, not too far from State St., definitely walking distance. It's not terribly close to the ocean, but it's a short drive away, not too bad.
It's old. Like I stepped into g-ma's house that hasn't been updated since she moved in kinda old. Cute garden, really cute backyard w/ a hot tub (that I didn't try, so can't comment on that), but the house itself is downright nast.
Old flowery wallpaper, my room was tiny (garden room, I believe). But for 150/night in the middle of summer in Santa Barbara, it was by far the cheapest thing in the city, so I didn't complain.
My bathroom's ceiling was slanted, so if you're over 6 feet tall, it's gonna be an issue. Bed was comfy, but if they just stripped the wallpaper and didn't have so many damn rooster paraphanelia around, it could be a cute little place. The living room/common area gave me the heebie-geebies, like there's a ghost or something. The room was HORRIBLY HOT, had to sleep on top of the covers and even then I woke up a few times in a sweat. I swear they had the heat on??!
The man who runs the place is super nice, but the lady who works with him had a serious attitude problem. She acted like I was inconveniencing her by asking her directions, and she gave me the stink eye a few times.
Best part of the place is the yummy yummy b-fast! Not a communal buffet, but adorable quality made food delivered to your door in a picnic basket! I'd pay money just for the breakfast, really was fabulous.
Overall, I just would MUCH rather a hotel than a b&b, and I know that's my preference, but why would you choose to stay in an old janky house w/ nasty wallpaper and barely enough room to walk around?? Well my answer is that this was literally my only option, every single hotel was sold out in the entire city, no joke. Closest available hotel was 45 miles away, jeeeeeeeez. So for what it was, I give it 3 stars. Could be worse, but seriously needs an update, there was nothing "charming" about it, replace "charming" with OLD and u got it! -
Review from Sandy T.
After leaving work on a Thursday night, running by the house and picking up the bf, we start the trek toward Santa Barbara for our extended weekend. I had conveniently already booked the room at White Jasmine Inn about a month prior and the late check-in was approved. Fairly easy to find and on a somewhat busy street, this Inn sits quaintly within a garden setting.
Our late check-in envelope was awaiting with directions outside the main door. We made the way to our room and quickly decided to hit the jacuzzi. I had booked one of the smaller rooms for $100 and was pleased to see the bathroom was nice with its jet tub. Immediately I noticed, the window was open and you could distinctly hear cars driving by. Hmm, would this be a problem?
We made our way to the hot tub and relaxed under the starry sky for a bit before making our way upstairs. The jacuzzi had sucked away all intentions of hitting downtown SB for the night. Instead we snaked one of the homemade cookies left out for guests along with a nice cup of hot tea for each of us.
The hallway outside of our room was quite warm and even though some directions say to try to be considerate with the A/C, we never did see any such amenity. We used the free wifi, hopped into bed, flipped on the TV and relaxed. I soon fell asleep but woke a few times during the night to the sound of the passing cars from the open window. It was cool in the room from the ocean breeze but the sound of people talking as they walked by wasn't as relaxing.
We woke in the morning, showered and our breakfast was delivered in a small basket at 9:00 AM. The man advised we could sit outside in the backyard if we so desired. We headed down the stairs and around the back. The back of the Inn is cute. Various sitting areas and lots of beautiful flowers. Their meals are primarily Vegetarian, so if you are looking for juicy bacon with your breakfast, stay elsewhere. The food was good and all in all, the White Jasmine Inn is cute and won't break the bank.
I would like to stay in one of the private suites that have more personal vibes to them. That might be worth the extra coin if you are looking for an escape with the significant other. -

If I could give less than one star I would. We were in Santa Barbara for a wedding over Labor Day weekend, and this place was an absolute disappointment! We had the Santa Ynez room which was so small and gloomy that it seemed like a dungeon. The outside patio through French doors was as long as the room, (about 12 feet) and less than 4 feet wide. Claustrophobic doesn't even come close. The "spa" was the oddest looking contraption...a couple of us said it reminded us of the Orgasmatron from Woody Allen's "Everything You Wanted to Know..." movie. Just weird. The host said that they call anything with "jets" a spa. Hmmm...The room rate was high, but I guess not for Santa Barbara. The breakfasts were just ok...kind of the same/same every morning except for the French Toast, which I liked, but my wife didn't. I wouldn't stay here again if they paid me. Wish I could post the pictures I took.

Some pros and cons for my first B&B experience.
Pros:
-good value for 2 nite stay, roughly $150 per nite
-less than a 5 minute walk to State Street
-Victorian Suite was nice(separate house detached from main home)
-evening cookies and wine/cheese are served
-fireplace and spacious room
-breakfasts are delivered to your door in a picnic basket(Hey, Boo-Boo!!!)
-isolated from main house= more privacy, great getaway for couples and honeymooners
-parking is really good, alleyway or on the street
Cons:
-staff was unresponsive Saturday nite, even though they're around til 7pm. They eventually got a hold of me, but only after I called the manager's cell phone.
-breakfasts are home cooked, but let them know if you have any dietary restrictions. Their menu says vegetarian, but serving omelettes doesn't necessarily help as some might not like dairy or eggs.
-TV-DVD player was missing remote which was frustrating
-be wary in the evening, as it's located in a suburban neighborhood.
-bathroom in our suite was tiny, reminded me of a shower stall in my dorm, only cleaner.
Overall, the privacy and overall room cleanliness made this a worthwhile stay. I definitely wanna explore B&Bs since they give you that feeling that you're staying at your aunt's home. For a getaway for two, this is a good value. -

My partner and I recently stayed here for two nights on the third leg of a roadtrip through the Golden State. It was a bit of a splurge for us, but well worth it.
Upon checking in, the innkeeper was incredibly friendly and hospitable. He mentioned that cookies would be served in the lobby later, which sadly we missed out on both days (just another reason to go back!). Incidentally, the lobby and property grounds were gorgeous and meticulously maintained.
We stayed in the Hideaway, which was super comfy. My only real complaint is that the skylight in our bathroom had a janky screen, so we didn't open it; would have probably made for a nice cross-breeze throughout our room. No biggie, though; otherwise the room was very comfortable and charming.
By far, the highlight of our stay was eating breakfast on our private patio in our bathrobes. Did I mention that a delicious hot breakfast is delivered daily to each guest's doorstep? In a wicker basket, no less. Heavenly.
Thanks to A White Jasmine Inn, our time in Santa Barbara was truly blissful, and I would love to stay here again on my next visit. -

I've never been to a bed and breakfast before, but I've been to plenty of hotels. Husband booked the room with a spa shower. It was interesting at first, but the novelty wore off immediately. It was a bit confusing to use, and as we're using it, it was not as therapeutic as we thought it was going to be. The room itself was very efficient. They made sure to maximize every space they have.
Of course, I cannot compare this bed and breakfast to a typical hotel because it's like comparing apples and oranges.
The breakfast was good and refreshing. it was bagels with veggies on top, and a bowl of fruits. It was very cute because they packed it in a basket. Our room had an enclosed patio area so that we had our breakfast outside in our robes.
These alone would probably get them about 3 or 3.5 stars, but when we talked to the owners, it bumped up the review to a 4 stars. The owner was a talkative and extremely friendly guy who loves to give recommendations on places to go. He was attentive to our needs, and this kind of customer service deserve a four star. -

I decided to take my bf to Santa Barbara for New Year's weekend. We took the train up from San Diego on 12/31 around noon (he's never been on it) and then took a taxi ride to the Inn from the station around 5:30pm. It was less than a 5 minute drive so very convenient.
This was our first time in a B&B and I have to admit it, I was a little nervous about what our experience would be like. But by the end of our stay, we were pretty happy with the decision to pick this establishment. Here are a few of our likes and dislikes.
LIKES:
Considering the fact that the Inn was at capacity, it was very quiet. We never heard the other residents.
Vegetarian hot breakfast delivered to our door every morning. We both loved it, even my carnivore bf.
Whirlpool tub perfect for soaking with wine and crackers for snacking, didn't even need the outdoor jacuzzi.
Extremely well priced for the area. No other hotel or B&B came close.
Within walking distance of everything, we only drove to and from the train station.
Fresh baked cookies every night.
JC, our host was helpful, fetched a corkscrew from the kitchen for us after hours and was able to give us great recommendations for activities and dining, etc. in the area.
The room, including the bathroom was kept spotless! Big plus for us!!
DISLIKES:
Very kitschy. But it's a B&B, what do you expect?
Couldn't spend all of your time here
13-inch TV
Not much bad to say. Note: We stayed in the GARDEN room, and while it was the smallest room in the whole Inn, it had plenty of space for us and our things. We each brought our laptops as well as our carry-on bags. The whirlpool tub in the nice-sized bathroom made the room the best choice for us. We would highly recommend this place for any young couple looking for a great location, and a reasonably priced, comfortable place to stay in Santa Barbara. -
Review from Chad C.
This place is great! I only wish I was there on a trip that would have allowed me to utilize more of their amenities.
This was only my second experience with a B&B, and the first place I entertained doesn't even compare. I'd first off like to say they are really accommodating. I had a gift certificate from 2004 when they were called the Glenborough Inn and they honored it, which IMHO is great customer service.
My G/F and I stayed in the Victorian Suite which was located across the street from the main house which provides a little more privacy. Breakfast is delivered to your door every morning in basket at either 8:30 or 9:30 AM. The breakfasts are homemade and taste incredible. I love not having to get ready and rush out for breakfast in the morning. The first day we had breakfast quiche and fresh fruit and the second day French Toast with Strawberry Syrup.
The Victorian Suite consisted of two rooms (Bedroom & Dinning\Living room). The bathroom is a little small, but it gets the job done.
I highly recommend this place for couple looking for a little getaway, newlyweds, or someone just looking for some piece and quiet. It's about a five minute walk to downtown state street, and there is plenty of parking.
I'll be coming back.. -

We hadn't been to a bed and breakfast in years, so maybe it was the adjustment (at least for me) from being used to staying in hotels while on the road, but this inn was a little claustrophobic for me. The sitting room downstairs is on the precious and stuffy side, a little too busy with old-style furniture, knick-knacks, etc., and not very much natural light. So, not a space I would feel comfortable hanging out in. From there, there's a narrow stairway to a small hallway (almost just a landing) on the upper floor, where there were three (I think) guest rooms. We stayed in the "Lavender" room, which though nicely appointed was a little small; not much floor space, and the bed dominated the room. But it had a great ceiling fan, and the windows opened wide onto a quiet neighborhood -- perfect on a warm summer night.
And there are some definite good points -- a great location, walking distance to State Street and, from there, a healthy but pleasant stroll to the ocean; a really nice and peaceful garden out back with a comfortable gazebo where you can settle down with a good book and feel totally alone; and somewhere on the grounds is a decent jacuzzi, I am told.
Unfortunately, since we had to leave the house early each morning, we only got the "bed" and not the "breakfast." So I don't have any intel on the food; they kindly left us a "continental" bag lunch both days after they found out about our schedule, though, which was a thoughtful touch.
I think that most folks who like bed and breakfasts would like this one. Me, I sadly miss air conditioning, room service, and having a bar downstairs. -

I really enjoyed my stay here. I am a little biased towards bed and breakfast's since I would like to own my own one day. But that also makes me more critical I guess. They are having a great 1/2 off sale right now so the rooms are very reasonable.
I stayed in the country room which was small but not tiny and little too themed. My friend stayed in the rose room which I think is the way to go. It is still mid range price and more spacious. It also has a good view and a cute fire place.
The man who runs it was awesome! Although I was a little disappointed that checking in at 7pm was late and no one was there to greet us. They did have cupcakes for us though. The breakfast was AMAZING. Very delicious and very cute how it is served in baskets.
If you are into bed and breakfast's then I highly recommend this one. You can't beat the prices, trust me I did my research. But keep in mind it's not a hotel and it will feel like staying at Grandma's. -

Quaint place. The place was clean. The breakfast was served in your room. It was delicious! I didn't stay in the room longer than to sleep and eat since there was enough to see around town.
The place about 2 blocks from State St. It was actually easier to leave my car on the street in front of the place and walk the 2-3 blocks than to use the pay lots or 90 min street parking close to State St. They have a hot tub which I never bother searching out.
I had limited interact with the gentleman owner, but he was polite, friendly, and attentive over the phone. The woman who made the breakfast was nice too.
There was a special on the room price too! -

So my wife and I ended up staying here for our honeymoon, and couldn't have been happier. We stayed in the craftsmen room, and thoroughly enjoyed our king size bed, fireplace and most of all our private jacuzzi. The inn keepers were very kind and helpful, and the breakfast was always hot and delicious. Walking distance from downtown gave us an easy opportunity to explore. We look forward to a return visit - hopefully soon!

Nice place, quaint, clean, friendly, walking distance from everything.
Probably not for a very special occasion -- breakfast so-so, everything a bit aging and cramped, tight residential neighborhood/small yard -- but great for a gateway on a budget.
Price was fair considering there are a lot of dumpy hotels in that price range in SB. -

We stayed for two nights here and thought it was nice. It was our first B&B experience, so we weren't sure what to expect exactly. We stayed in the Craftsman room, which has it's own entrance. It also has a private patio with a jacuzzi. That was nice, but would've been nicer if the jacuzzi really heated up (only goes to 103 degrees.)
The room was decorated cute enough, with old victorian looking furniture and fixtures. The shower was small, but clean. I was reminded though why I don't like apt living... the creaking of the people walking above us was noticeable, but thankfully, they didn't walk around late at night.
The breakfasts were pretty good, quiche one day and french toast the next. Both days fruit were included, which is good for my diet! I'm torn whether the breakfast being delivered to your room is a good thing or a bad thing. It's nice to eat in your p.j.s, but would've been nice to interact with other guests at a table too.
The location was great, close to shopping and dining. I'd definitely go back, especially since they're running such great specials right now. -

**This one's pretty detailed. Don't say you weren't warned!
I used to work at a B & B, but as that was my only experience with one (I'd even stayed there a few times), I didn't have a whole lot to compare this one to...hence 4 stars. That said, I LOVED IT. It actually reminded me of the B & B I used to work at.
Like many of the reviewers said, it has an old-world, Victorian feel to it, so if you're expecting silver jumpsuits, hoverboards and holographic photos on the walls, go somewhere else. For me personally, the decor didn't really make that much of a difference. I tend to look at the whole package, not just whether a picture on the wall or some tchotchkies give me the creeps...and this place is precious.
My pros and cons are pretty much the same as all the others. The bed was super-comfy with plenty of pillows and, the first two nights, these AMAZING sheets...they had to be at least 450 thread-count. Loved them. I had a gas fireplace in my room and it kept the room nice and toasty at night.
The room: I definitely want to check out some of the other rooms, just so I can have a more well-rounded experience of the Inn, but I stayed in the Hideaway, in the Victorian Cottage across the street, and it was perfect for me. It has its own entrance at the back of the Cottage and the pathway is well-lit. Additionally, there's a porch light that can be turned on (motion-sensored after dark), so that it's lit when you return at night. The interior of the room was precious, but beware - what you see in the photos is exactly what you get. It's not large at all, but for me, this was perfect. The bed was queen-sized and there was a small flat-screen hanging on the wall, over the fireplace in the corner...the fabulous fireplace. :)
The bathroom is about the same size as the bedroom, but this is definitely NOT a con! There's a mini-fridge and coffeemaker just inside the bathroom door, and a HUGE jacuzzi tub that I made use of two of the three nights of my stay. (The first night, LOST was on and I don't miss that for anything!) The cottage has its own parking space just off the alley behind it, so no worries about street parking rules (this is a bonus if you're not from California where the street parking is crazy as a loon). It's also a bonus if, like me, you end up parking your car once and don't drive it again until you leave. Which is a great segue into...
Location: White Jasmine is in a really great location! I would almost label it "B & B Row," as there are several within a block radius, but I did my research and none of them compared, price-wise, to White Jasmine. It's about two blocks from State Street and from there, you can catch the Downtown/Waterfront Shuttle for just $.25 per trip! The Inn's location makes it perfect for going Santa Barbara Car Free (http://sbcarfree.org, btw, MAJOR discounts for area businesses!). You can take shuttles, ride bikes or just walk. I walked everywhere. I also rented a beach cruiser bike...I didn't drive my car from the time I checked in to the time I checked out. And this was mostly possible because of White Jasmine's excellent location.
The Food: Breakfast was really yummy - two of the mornings, a crustless spinach and mushroom quiche was served with a cinnamon cake sort of thing and a bowl of fresh fruit. Very, very good! Day three was pancakes with apple syrup and possibly creme fraiche, or a small dollop of sour cream. The pancakes were good, but pancakes are almost impossible to keep hot unless they're in a warmer of some sort, so they were a bit cold by the time I ate them. Still yummy, though! Both were served with cold juice in a mason jar, and the entire breakfast came to the door in a picnic basket! You can select one of three breakfast delivery times: 8:30, 9:00 and 9:30. I chose 9:00 and it was always delivered within a few minutes of my time, at the latest. The B & B I worked at has a buffet-style breakfast in the main dining room, which from what I understand, is typical of B & Bs. I was alone on this trip and was enjoying my solitude, so this unique breakfast delivery was just what I needed. :)
I didn't get a chance to partake of the evening treats. The first night, I'd scheduled a massage at the Institute in town and John (Innkeeper) said they'd be putting the treats out around the time I was leaving. By the time I returned at 7:30ish, they were gone. The second night, I tried stopping by at 5:30 and 6:00, but they weren't out then either. I was on the town the third night, so I didn't go to the Main House at all. No worries, though! I'll catch 'em next time.
John and the staff were great! They really value their guests' privacy and are extremely helpful without being overbearing. John even spent some time at check-in giving the guests tips and tricks for food and sites in the city. LOVED it!!! Will definitely be back! -

my gf's mom got us a night at this bed and breakfast for our birthdays. it was a very warm and cozy place, very inviting. the room we had was their smallest but it was perfect for us. the inn keeper was very friendly and hospitable, plus she put out cookies in the evening! what a business! cant argue with complimentary cookies. plus they were very yummy. they have a hot tub in their beautiful backyard, its very nice that the hot tub is open all night unlike at hotels where they close it at like 10, and it was soo hot that it just melted all my stress away. they have lots of great deals for local restaurants that they offer but me and my lady spent most of our time up in los padres at the river so we didnt make much use of it. definitely a nice little place to relax in.

This was my first time at a bed and breakfast but my husband and I had an amazing time. Granted, we did have our own suite so it was more like a cottage rental but a great little retreat. The bordeux suite was very elegantly decorated and had a new bathroom with a very clean jacuzzi tub.

The Mr. and I spent a three day weekend in S.B. and loved our stay here. The inn is clean, quiet, comfortable, charming and run by two great down to earth people. Our room was small, but very cozy. The whole place has a real "homey" feel, not at all like a hotel. The landscape is beautiful, the perfect setting to enjoy breakfast (which was delicious by the way, you could tell it was home cooking). Great location, close to State Street. I am already planning my next visit, I would recommend this place.

I loved this place. Our suite was very luxurious - I loved that we had 3 rooms to ourselves plus a hot tub and outdoor seating area as well! The couple that runs the place is funny and hospitable but gives you your space. I love having a hot breakfast delivered to the room, wine and cheese with other guests at happy hour, and being within walking distance to restaurants in Santa Barbara. A++!

There is always a fear when I write a glowing review of a place that it will soon be "discovered" and consequently marred in some way, but here goes: My husband and I went here for our fourth anniversary a few weeks back and had a simply fabulous time. The innkeeper John was extremely personable and gave us a "tour' of our suite---the "Nouveau"--- and provided us with some helpful restaurant information. After settling in, we joined a few other guests in the cozy lobby/front room for a social hour, complete with a decanter of chardonnay and apps. The suite was welcoming and comfortable. We spent a good portion of our time just hanging out together in the room; the bed was divine! The two highlights were the private porch with our own jacuzzi (si romantic) and the nifty, fresh, piping-hot breakfasts that were discreetly delivered to our front door. We have every intention of returning as soon as we are able!
