Review from Eva D.
Walnut Creek, CA
There are several consignmanet store for kids that i frequent and i like some of them more thatn others. This one is in my top two for buying things. I have a girl, so there is cute stuff pretty much always. As with any consignment store, it can be hit or miss...but when i need something i tend to visit them once a week ( on my way to Lunardi's) and 90% of the time I end up finding what I was looking for.
The clothes is adequately priced, there are some real finds on the clearance rack. Nicely organized, nice displays, children's play area, nice bathroom. As a consigner it is a little more tricky when you start with them and they are quite picky ( whcih is great when you are buying...) and they usually take more brand names ( no carter's, oshkosh, although I saw them onthe racks..I guess they dont sell that well). I will be coming back as kids grow up so fast!Comment from Kim C. of A Wee Change 5/11/2012

I have been meaning to wrote this review for a week and just found the time today! I think this store is really the best children's consignment in the area. Fair prices, excellent quality and good selection. I also discovered the women's section last week! I walked away with a skirt and a pair of pants- super cute, Gap, just the right fit. This store is well organized, clean, and a pleasure to browse through....go there!

This is an amazing store. I mean, they grow up so fast why would you pay full price for the latest and greatest in children's clothing? There are all kinds of great deals, and the place is extremely well organized and the staff is friendly and helpful. They even have a little play area for your little one to stay busy while you shop. Great local small business we should all be proud to support!!

Review from Jason L.
East Bay, CA
This is my second stop on my kids consignment shop hunt of the east bay.
This was a step up from my first place.
This store does not feel like a used clothing store. It has the feel of a small mom and pop store. I like this feeling.
I was looking for clothes for my son who is growing way too fast. They have a fair amount of clothes for boy 9-18 months. I was happy with the fact that they consign clothes by season. I would never have guesses it was this hard to find a good winter jacket for a reasonable price for a 7 month old who looks like a 2 year old. So I think I found my place in A Wee Change.
I plan on coming back in November when they have more winter clothes on the rack.
The store also has a few strollers, baby monitors, infant seats and such. They are all in good condition and much cheaper than Target, Wal-Mart or even Ross and the other discount stores.
It's kind of a pain in the butt to get here, but I will come back.
I suggest you do the same.Comment from Kim C. of A Wee Change 3/14/2012

I frequent this business quite a bit; I come in maybe twice a month if not more. I signed up to consign before but was never called, not sure what happened I decided not to follow up either. I've decided I'd rather not consign, I'd like for someone to go thru my clothing and pay me on the spot.
Sometimes you can find great deals here and sometimes things seem a tad over priced. I think you can get great deals on shoes and or things off of the clearance rack. Also they have lots of name brand clothing. They have some name-brand jeans behind the counter such as Lucky Brand, True Religion, Joe's Jeans that I've seen a couple of times which are in excellent used condition and half off what you'd pay at the store. I still haven't mustered up the guts to buy a pair of jeans that I would normally pay for something I'd buy myself. They have a section for juniors as well as petites and women, maternity and non-maternity clothing and shoes.
All in all, they have a good selection. I always catch myself walking out with something whether it is for me, my daughter or a gift for someone else's child.Comment from Kim C. of A Wee Change 3/14/2012

ADORABLE! This place feels like a boutique yet it is a used clothing store. They have a lot of 3T-5T (the sizes I look for my son) & plenty of boys clothes (a rarity with most used children stores). In the center of the store there are used toys for sale that the kids can test drive before purchasing & a TV to keep them entertained. The back of the store has a really nice used maternity section that I wish I knew about when I was prego. Oh well next time around I will shop the maternity.
Will be back for my son's next growth spurt.Listed in: Kids Consignment Refinement

There was a coupon in a local trade magazine for $5 off your purchase of $35 or more.
I was in need of a formal dress for an awards ceremony that week. Being the bulbous party girl that Ive become I was hoping they had something nice for me.
Unfortunately they really didn't have anything very formal. I was looking for red carpet, pregnant Angelina Jolie type rag magazine cover dresses.
Apparently pregnant women don't do formal that often.
They did have very nice work wear dresses but nothing I wanted to buy right at that moment.
Service was outstanding and she really understood that I wasn't finding what I was looking for.
I was eying the baby stuff and am excited to find out that this little Baby Beluga is a boy inside me so I can buy some cuuuuute stuff finally. All of their baby stuff is incredibly priced and cute.
You know I'm coming back. -

Absolutely terrible customer service. Shopped there yesterday for the first and last time. The lady was rude, unapologetic for the mistake she made ($30 dollar difference) and wouldn't give me a refund for the stuff I didn't want, but she still rang while I was in the fitting room. Definitely not going back there again.

Fantastic inventory of high quality gently used infant/children's clothing.
Small selection of maternity wear, but worth checking out if you're in the area (I'm finding that the maternity wear offerings at any consignment retailer are going to be a gigantic crap shoot).
I was a little disappointed at first, having made a special trip out to A Wee Change from Oakland just to check out their maternity inventory, but wound up scoring some very cute nearly-new outfits for my cousin's new baby girl.
Worth the drive for some things more than others, but great value overall. I'll definitely be back after the rugrat makes his/her appearance.

Also, not being all that familiar with the Walnut Creek/Concord border, I had issue with their "Palos Verdes Mall" address. If you're using a standard road map or GPS, know that A Wee Change is at the intersection of Geary Road and Pleasant Hill Road/Camino Verde. I think even the shop must realize how hard it can be to find them if you're not from the direct area, because the location is addressed on their website.Listed in: Oh Baby.

In my never-ending search for the best second-hand baby items in the Bay Area, a Wee Change is a great choice when I'm in the Walnut Creek area. I made my way to WC one sunny afternoon after picking up a craigslist purchase. WC was a little tough to find as I was not familiar with the area and my stupid GPS sent me the wrong way. After finding my way by shear intuition, I pulled into the ministrip mall and found WC.
I went in looking for books and toys, browsing for clothes and observed that in the well-organized layout a good selection of both boys, girls, and maternity clothing. Everything is clearly labelled and displayed in an easy to browse manner. WC also stocks some new items such as toys. I loved the toys area, which is right in the middle of the store where I could keep and easy eye on my newly walking son. I like how there was a sign that encouraged kids to play with toys within their reach. They have a small selection of baby gear and miscellany.
On the whole, everything seems about a dollar or so too much, but this is to be expected in the Walnut Creek area and the name brands offered. (I guess I'm more used to the places I frequent in San Bruno, San Jose, and San Francisco.) I bought a book for $4.25 that my son liked from the moment he saw it, but felt like it should have been at dollar or two less (in comparison to the clearance section at Borders). I also found a great deal on a Melissa & Doug board puzzle organizer for $14.50 that doesn't fit some of my odd-shaped boards but worked well with the standard rectangle puzzles I had.
On the whole, a great second-hand place to visit if you don't mind paying a dollar or two more for good quality items. I'll probably visit if I'm in the area again. And I'll just reiterate that this place is SUPER well-organized and clean! -

I like it but sometimes they can be inflexible. Don't think you can just wander in with your goods for consignment. Do yourself a favor and check the rules first.
All things considered, I've gotten some good deals there. -

Well stocked, well edited. Great mix of brands from Old Navy to some obscure European pieces. Prices felt slightly high overall. Pleasant staff.

This is a local small business in my neighborhood so I hate to post a less than stellar review, but I do so in hopes of letting them know so it can be fixed!
Was in the store yesterday afternoon looking for preemie clothes. The salesperson was very busy (no one in the store though) and when I asked i she had any preemie stock she was very "bothered" and said "if I do, it's at the end over there". Rude attitude not appreciated! There are alternatives (especially Growing Pains in Concord) which I love. I'd love to stay local and shop here - so please AWC staff - pretend you want me as a customer! -

Every time I shop here I end up buying high end clothing for my kids and nearly every item I purchase still has the original tags on them. And if they don't, they are in perfect condition. The emails I get with sales notifications and the prices / selections are great.

At first glance, this store looks like a boutique. Clothes all look new and are reasonably priced. Some still have original price tags on them, and are now bargain priced. Always a great selection of name brand clothes. Well organized store, very easy to find sizes you are looking for. There is a nice, clean area for children to play with large selection of toys. A very child friendly store. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

SOOO helpful. I called to find out if they had a particular item. The person answering the phone went and pulled every item in the store in the category I was looking for. She gave me the name and price. I had called a few other kids consignment places and was not met with a pleasant attitude. I will be back for sure to A Wee Change!

I have two daughters of 3 and 5. My wife and I like to shop here because we get tired of our kids wearing the same clothes from Target as every other kid. You get better quality and better looking clothes that look brand new or are new for the same price as Target. Plus, there is a good selection of Maternity clothes, toys, etc.

I really like the toys and clothing they carry. Most of it is high end like Jaine and Jack and Gymboree plus the store is nice and clean.I dont like that I bought my son a leap frog alphabet toy that was missing a letter and I wasnt given the 15 percent off for mentioning yelp the salesperson said I couldnt get it because the items i purchased were on sale.

I visited 4 consignment shops looking for maternity wear and this shop was the best of the four. It's large and has a space to move around (unlike some I visited). They have a pretty good maternity selection, as well as a rack of sale items. They also have a non-maternity section for women. They have children's furniture (bouncers, slings). The other side of the store, with it's own entrance on that side, is the children's section. They have tons of children's clothing as well as books and toys. I definitely will come back after I have my baby. She also let me know that they were getting in their Spring collection for maternity wear. I ended up finding some what I was looking for at a great price.
Finally, the dressing room was a restroom/dressing room, which was large enough to be comfortable in. -

I really like this store. I always find nice things there for reasonable prices. You can tell that the owner is selective in what she accepts because everything is in good shape. It is a pleasant place to shop, and they always have toys out for the kids to play with, there is even a movie on sometimes! Like many moms, I usually have at least one of my three kids in tow when I am shopping so it is nice that they are welcoming of the little ones.
