Sometimes people are destined to meet.

While riding my bike to work one day, the owner of A Vision, Marta, hit me with her car. It was kind of my fault, and it wasn't a bad accident, but Marta came running out of her car and immediately hugged and kissed me, made sure I was okay, and then told me she owned the wine shop up the street (the accident happened at Damen and Augusta) and that I should stop in for a free bottle of wine.

Obviously I took her up on this offer, and I have never been so happy to be hit by a car in my life. They know their wine, and they know their bottles under $20 very well. They also really know flowers! the place always smells so lovely, and it's clear to see that the flowers are the true passion of the shop.

Plus, what could make your girlfriend feel better on a lazy weekday evening than a lower priced, delicious bottle of wine and a bouquet of exotic flowers? Truly a one stop shop for making your lady feel awesome for not a lot of cash.

A Vision has it figured out, and they always get me with their Friday wine tastings. Hell, they've got me with their awesome service, their commitment to the neighborhood, and their general goodwill.

Take a visit to A Vision, you will not be disappointed.

Pushers of well-priced unique (and so far, delicious) wines, givers of flowers for you to in turn give to your girlfriend, and, apparently, throwers of free hours long wine tastings on Fridays.

I'll drink to that! (god, so stupid, I'm sorry. but I checked, and nobody else had said it yet. now nobody else has to. so: don't.)

I have driven past A Vision many times and never knew what it was...that is until I moved into the hood and decided to check it out during a walk.  What a cute little wine shop with absolutely gorgeous flowers. Gorgeous!  They have a very small selection of wines with an average price of around $15-$20.  If you go you must try this fantastic bottle of sparkling rose, they'll know the one, its to die for.

The people who run the shop are unbelievably sweet so its difficult to not want to support them. However, my personal favorite wine shop in Randolph Wine Cellars because I can always find a great bottle for around $10.

If I'm in a pinch or can't make it to RWC then A Vision is my spot.  Even though they charge slightly more then other shops, its worth it because during these economic times its important to carefully pick and choose where you spend your money.  A Vision is very much worthy of that.

P.S.
And yes, the Friday night tastings are pretty rad.

Best idea ever.

A wine shop that specializes in affordable wine (under $20) that tastes great.  There's pretty much no going wrong.  Every bottle is hand chosen by the owner.

They also have happy hour wine tastings on Friday from 5-7p for free.

love it.

Um, My new best friends?

I've been walking PAST A Vision for oh about a year now - I shop at Willow next door semi-regularly.  Why I've not gone into A Vision before now is absolutely beyond me.

So seriously, I connected with these people on a transcendental level.  Wine, the great music they have playing, flowers: we were already soulmates.

While their main focus is corporate gifting of wine and flowers, the retail  part of it is why you should shop here.

The service is impeccable, knowledgeable, and personal.  The wines are unusual, affordable, and while the selection is small (which I prefer - too many choices give me headaches) there is something for everyone here.

I don't mind forking over my money, especially when they are taking the guesswork out of "what do you bring to your friend's 47th birthday party on Saturday night with a bunch of experienced wine drinkers" conundrum.

Try the Vin de Gris (i think that's the name) Rose - wonderful for summer, and let's just say they drained the bottle last night.

Every Friday night there's a wine tasting, generally from 5-7.  Go.  NOW!  Support these wonderful people and tell them I sent you.

This is my "go to" for flowers for any occasion.  The first time I needed flowers was for a memorial service and needed them that day.  They exceeded my expectations!  I have not gone anywhere else for flowers since then.  Highly recommend!

I haven't been for flowers, I've only been in for wine... They have a very limited selection of smaller producer wines, all priced between $10-30 (many seem to be around $15-20).  They are always good to talk to...  Found what I needed...

One week recently I think I went in there every night of the week...  I like going here... often times at night I'll walk in and there are a couple people chilling out drinking wine.

Good hours (open 'til 8 Tues-Sat...).  If you're going for something that night, don't forget that their whites are available chilled or room temp.

All of the fresh flowers displayed with the wines are for sale.   last time i was in they had some cool protea.

They have free wine tastings every Friday night 5:30-7:30.

I met with A. Vision as a potential floral design vendor for my upcoming wedding.  As soon as I walked in, I loved their space!Besides floral design, the owners all sell wine.

After our meeting, I was told that I would be able to come in for a trial run along with my quote.  I can't wait!

Let me preface this by saying that I am friends with the owners Marta and Clint, and have know them for a while.  So my review may be biased but take it for what it is worth.

The store is extremely well laid out and the flower arrangements on display are nothing short of spectacular.  The wine selection is small but well selected with top organic wines.  The plus is that though A. Vision knows wine they do not speak the wine speak that you find so often at other wine spots.  There is no arrogance in the air.   I will purchase my wine from here for a long time and when I need flowers, this is my spot.

Wine tasting on Fridays is a great way to start the weekend.

This place is great... the wine they sell are usually unique and affordably priced, the shop is laid out beautifully with flowers. I bought some flowers from there a few weeks ago and paid more then what I usually would, but they're still alive! The people that work there, not sure owners or not, are usually super nice.

Never been to free wine tastings but I will go one of these days. It's great to support local businesses while getting a chance to drink good wine.

OK, so I give new meaning to the term procrastination.  It's Christmas Eve, I want wine, It's 5:30 p.m.  My ghost of Christmas present comes in the form of a wine/floral shop named A Vision.  Specifically in the form of Anna who so graciously helped me by working a shift until 8 on Christmas Eve, helping me find the perfect wine, and encouraging me to buy the last bottle of Confluence from McKinley Springs even though she intended to take it home herself for Christmas.  How sweet is she?  I love her and while she couldn't possibly make my experience any better, she did it all without any bitter "I have to work on Christmas eve" attitude.  She even gave me a small sprig of holly on my way out because I complimented her and told her I'll be back.  I wanted to give them four stars solely because they didn't have cheese and I would have bought a snowmobile full because of the smart service and great wine.  However, Anna wins that fifth star right back.  I will definitely return.

A Vision.  Couldn't have said it better.  This place is a vision.  A-vision seamlessly marries the great pleasure's in life - wine and flowers.  On Fridays that have a free wine tasting from 5-7 (check their website as the day and times may not be accurate).  The employees are very friendly and attentive.  The wines they sell are very well priced between $13 - $40.  Not only is the ambiance inviting, but so is the company.  I went there with my sister and immediately we met welcoming people in the neighborhood.  If you are new to the city and need to meet people, come to A Vision.  You will not be disappointed by the wine or the company.  Wine boutiques tend to be pretentious and overpriced, but A Vision proves that you can have wonderful wine and meet wonderful people.  Oh and the flowers - are beautiful.  If I could drink flowers, I would have bought them.  This is a best kept secret in the city.

RAD! Great neighborhood wine shop. it's nice not to have to buy wine in a large store, and to be able to go to a Euro-type shop with people from the neighborhood working there! Very tasteful interior ad great tastings.
