Loved the food and wine selection. Had dinner here during our first anniversary celebration a few years ago and have been back many times.
Was really sad when I walked by the weekend before Christmas and saw the sign in the window... they're closed :( -

OK, I am going to break the rhythm and say: while I thought the calamari was good, there were other apps I saw people getting that looked great. Mike and I were a bit slow: you have to eat the greens under the calamari to really get the full taste effect of the squid.
We got this great bottle of wine called Niner. Try it!
For dinner, I got the big eye tuna, while he got the tenderloin. Both were delicious, although by the end of dinner, we basically had to switch plates because we liked each other's dishes more. Go figure.
We went here as part of a celebration, and I thought it was a great place to celebrate. It's pricey, but really good. It's not on the tourist track, which we welcomed. Those other restaurants are nice, but it was nice to go somewhere not serving MORE southern food, y'all. -

Sleek little wine bar in the middle of historic Savannah.
Nice selection of afforadable wines by the glass.
* Try the calamari...with lemon and pepporcini peppers. Mmmm!
Where the locals who appreciate nice food and wine go. -

A vida is a great little wine bar / restaurant located downtown. Its definitely one of the better restaurants in Savannah. Its a bit more hip and industrial than the touristy places on river st., with a great selection of wine and truly wonderful food. Like the other two reviewers said, the calamari really is that good.
For all of the San Franciscans reading this; the chef who opened a vida is now the chef at Mecca, here in the city. -

Delicious food, wonderful service, great wine list and bar. They are well known for their calamari........and i LOVE the tuna..! Now the parking is a huge downfall, but thats ALL of downtown Savannah for you. Its in close proximity to the congress street festivities too!

This place has been closed a couple years. My rating is not based on the former food, just its a really bad place to eat now that it is no longer there!

Atmosphere was nice, drinks were good, crowd was slightly annoying. Is it really closed now? I never seem to pay much attention walking past.
