Dan the store owner is simply the bomb. If they don't have the fish, he'll get it for you.

I couldn't find wild bettss anywhere in socal and he got them imported for me. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about it.

They have a variety of stock, you can call in advance to find out if they have things in stock. It was worth my drive to go to this lfs.

I'm a freshwater shopper only and this place has limited saltwater stock.

Have been to this LFS a few times and they have the most unique freshwater livestock around.  Green neon tetras, blue angelfish, yellow congo tetras, and many discus fish that I would not purchase because they are $100+ per fish.  This is by far the best place is the SGV for getting into planted tanks with freshwater shrimp.  They have a large selection of plants and various shrimps.  They also often have specials going on, which is useful.

I like stopping in at A+ because they are always changing the types of fish they stock.  I never know what I'm going to see in there and it's always tempting to by all the unique stuff.  I just wish I had a bigger tank to store them all in.

Heard of this store via a friend, told me about the cheap gold fish they have here. Having a turtle I'm always on the lookout for cheap feeder fish! It's a small family owned store in the same plaza as Zen Buffet towards the back, on Rosemead and Broadway.

Limited selection of turtle pellets but it's priced the same as any other store so I picked up a big tub since I was there anyways... my turtle is beastly.

The large gold fish is priced at 5 for $1 and the medium sized fish is 8 for $1. At the time of my visit the handful of large fish were quite dead looking, not even swimming but stuck to the bottom of the tank so I got some medium instead. Lols the owner was like, "My turtle still eats dead fish", no I'm not buying dead fish to feed to my turtle!!!

The medium was a good buy since at that time there were some what I considered larger fish mixed in and swimming lively. The owner said that it all depends on the shipment of fish that they get so YMMV with the sizing when you go. Yay my turtle won't go hungry now! Full turtle = happy turtle. =D

Great prices and selection, sometimes they'll have an oddball such as a Goliath African Tiger Fish. The staff are benevolent and very helpful, sometimes giving me extra feeders or giving me a discount on my purchase! Great place for to stock up on aquascaping supplies or the occasional oddball.

Awesome place if you're thinking about getting into planted tanks or freshwater shrimp.  One of the best selections of shrimp in SoCal, and supplies for shrimp/planted tanks.  They've also got a lot of variety when it comes to driftwood and rocks.  In addition to the normal African and Penang wood you find at most fish stores, they've got small pieces of driftwood for use in nano tanks, Manzanita, and Teak.  When was the last time you saw teak at a fish store?

They're also a great place to find obscure (by SoCal fish store standards) fresh water fish.  The owner is super friendly, and always willing to answer questions or give advice.

This place should be called A++ Tropical Fish. I was looking for a shovel nose catfish and not only did they have it, it was about half the price of other stores I had gone to.

This was also the first store that carried the African Goliath Tiger Fish, which is extremely rare and very hard to find. Customer Service was great and the staff seemed knowledgable. By far the best fish store in SGV if you are looking for large variety and hard to find tropical fish. And did I mention the prices are amazing?

The owner was a very nice and helpful guy. The pricing on equipment is some of the lowest I've seen around in SoCal. Livestock variety is ok. He has plenty of freshwater plants available. The Mr Aqua equipment and custom stands are well priced. This is a go-to place if that is what you're looking for. Very planted tank friendly store.

This is a nice a nice local fish store with a wide variety of fresh water fish, aquatic gardens and supplies. Like most fish stores, you need to approach the workers to ask them to assist you, because they are not sure if you are there to just view the fishes (like Sea world) or there to truly purchase a fish. The one thing that may be lacking is a good selection of salt water fish.

The only time I would go to the store is during the weekends when they offer 15% off!. I went there recently with my gf and we decided to purchase 2 Betta fish and 2 modern, attractive marina tanks that has comes with beautiful foliage, rocks and landscape. The individuals were very helpful.

One of the employees here is dishonest. A lady came in with sick fish and he told her there was nothing she could do for them so she left them there. As soon as she left he put the fish back into the sale tanks so he could make a profit. They don't care about what they sell to their customers, as long as they can make a quick buck off of you.

We have been buying live rock and other supplies as well as fish from this location for years. But it had been a while since we had been back on account of we already had enough fish in our tank and things had been running smoothly.

Unfortunately something went wrong with our skimmer and we started shopping around for a fix. When we went to A+ the guy who helped us was very helpful & when he didn't know the answer he got on the phone and quickly got us answers. Long story short they gave us a few options to get our tank going and also made a trip to our home to make sure of what we needed. In the end he gave us a very reasonable solution and installed it. He also took the old system and gave us a credit for it. I really think they saved us money as they could have easily upsold us. But these guys are very honest and as a business owner I am glad to find other honest places to shop.

It's been about 3 weeks since he installed the new piece and our fish tank looks awesome they tank looks much more clean and the live rock is thriving.

BTW we have a 100 gallon salt water fish tank. These guys seem to know what is needed for both fresh and saltwater tanks. And like in our case if they don't have the part they will order it for you.

Nice selection of freshwater fish and shrimp, not only common beginner's fish, but also occasionally have some animals that are hard to find everywhere else around the area.

Good selection of plants, although I wish they had more moss.

About two months ago, I was looking for some algae eating shrimp, and they had cherry shrimp for $1.99 each! The lowest price I've seen them anywhere! I recently called in to see if they had any more shrimp, unfortunately they haven't received any shipment from then.

They sold more CO2 equipment at a good price than any other aquarium around. I bought a Boyu diffuser for $5.99, but it's $6.99 now.

The owner (I forgot his name) was very friendly and knowledgeable! He also gave me a slight discount for my stuff when it was my first time there. It gets busy on the weekends, so you might have to be patient with him helping other customers. Sometimes, there are some workers (or maybe his buddies?) in place of him, although they didn't know what they were talking about or knew what a diffuser was, I forgive them.

I am a two year newbie to salt water aquariums. It is an expensive hobby and though I try to cut expenses there is just no way of getting away from spending all my money on this hobby.

This store and it's staff will be getting five stars soon. I believe this because they have the best prices, will often take what you have and give you store credit for it just to make you happy, and are very trustworthy.

Frank is the guy I go to for marine advice when I visit the store. He is not extremely friendly but is very knowledgeable and helpful. And you will never sense from him that he is trying to sell you something. He seems very honest.

They are currently rebuilding their salt water livestock section. It will not be as large as their fresh water selection which is very large and has the capacity to show more varieties of fresh water fish than any store I have been to in the area.

I like giving them my business cause they are not making a lot of money but continue to be honest and helpful. If there is anything I want, they will get it for me and at a reasonable price.

Great selection of common and not so common fish, plants, and shrimp! Fish that stood out to me because they were reasonably priced and not common: dwarf loaches, pygmy cory, crystal red shrimp, scarlet badis, badis badis, galaxy rasboras, and tons more! The guy that owns the place is really chill and easy to work with too. Very good considering it's in the SGV area. Definitely come by and take a look, worth your time! I know I'll be back!

This is one of the best fish stores around. They have a good selection of freshwater fish and plants. However, what gave them the extra star was the selection of hardware. Far too little shops carry quality tanks and equipment like they do. Although they don't stock ADA stuff, the AZOO and Mr. Aqua products (as well as some of the made in china stuff), are ALL of great quality.

They have a small selection of salt water stuff. I saw some common corals and regular fish. Although everything is in good shape, the selection is meager compared to that of other local fish stores.

The owner is really friendly and knows his stuff. Had a little chit chat with him the other day and boy am i glad he was able to save this place. It would have been a shame to lose another fish store in the area.

Amazing selection of freshwater fish and plants at a cheaper price than petco. The tanks were clean, fish seem to be happy and thriving (which sadly doesnt seem to be the case in every fish store), and the small catfish I purchase have adapt very well to my tank! I would come for all my pet fish needs if I lived closer. Small complaint I have is that the Java moss here seems more brown than green but we'll see how it grows.. :)

Great selection of fish.  I was impressed when they had written on a tank full of fish that looked sick "do not sell".  I asked about it and he said they were sick and that he wouldn't sell them until he was sure they were healthy.  This store has become my preferred place to shop for fish.
