I've been coming in this little store for a few years now and I found many adorable little things. Its very well curated and things are always changing. Last summer I moved to Logan square so I get to stop in a lot more often with my dog and say hi to Julie or one of her helpers. I always enjoy getting a good look around and seeing what's "new". There is always something you can pick up for a few bucks that makes you happy.

On a weekend afternoon I often find myself wondering in. More times than not I find such unique things for my apartment. The prices are pretty good - more expensive than small town vintage/thrift stores but reasonable for Chicago.
The people that work here are lovely and will keep their eye out for certain pieces if you ask. They also have a little bird that lives in a cage behind the counter. Very sweet. -

If you are looking for a unique, off the wall, quirky, FABULOUS gift...then come here. I like to come here when I am in town. Such a cute place. On my last visit I picked up a cute pair of earrings for a coworker. Julee, the owner, really has some cute affordable items. You want vintage jewelry...she's got it. You want something no one else has in their home...she's got it. The owner is ADORABLE. She has such a cool style and really knows where to find great vintage wares. Let's talk about the high tech security---His name is Norbid and he is the cutest "watch" bird I've ever seen. You should stop by this place and see him for yourself. You may walk in just to window shop and end up bringing home some fabulous tinket or lamp or clock or tea set or jewelry.

I'm a sucker for two things: jewelry and vintage. A Touch of Vintage has one of the best vintage jewelry collections I've seen and it's all super affordable! There aren't many clothing items, but they have housewares, some furniture, hats and bags, and other assorted knickknacks.
The owner of this shop does a great job of selecting her items. Everything is in great shape and reasonably priced. -

eeee! So cute!
My inner-Kennedy was dancing with glee at the sight of all the vintage hats and clip on earrings (no, my ears are not pierced). A Touch of Vintage has all the accessories I could possibly need to become the belle of Hyannisport.
Ok, yeah, the clothing selection is a touch limited. Big deal! There are a thousand and one other vintage stores pandering clothing. Get your clothing there and come here for the finishing touches!
I circled through the store at least twice examining all the offerings - I didn't want to miss a single thing. Beyond jewelry and accessories there are pieces to decorate your home with 1940s glamour or 1960s color (Again, God, why wasn't I born forty years earlier? I could have been setting up house while the color "avocado" was at the height of fashion! I would have been so cute in a pillbox hat and gloves!)... Anyway, not only are the items completely charming, but they are beautifully arranged and displayed.
Added bonus: Absolutely everything is on sale. Fancy a particular display rack or side table? Look for a price tag - it's yours for the taking (and for a decent price, to boot)!Listed in: Not "Used" - "Vintage"!

In addition to a great selection of jewelry, dresses, furniture, and knick-knacks, I will return to A Touch of Vintage regularly for one reason: REASONABLE PRICES. (A couple weeks ago home in Cleveland, I went into a vintage store. This place was huge, filled with amazing things, but they were all incredibly overpriced.)
Here, necklaces are all around $10-12, earrings $3-6, purses $10-20. I didn't catch the price on the dresses, but the woman who runs the shop said they're her best seller. Furniture was cute, and I almost bought one of the wooden African masks hanging on the wall ($10-ish).
One small thing to note - they're only open part time. But I they were open all this past weekend, and on a weekday evening when my friend stopped by. -

Wow, vintage well done! I have to say I was a bit startled to see a lot of items here that either I own or have owned or that my mom has. It was like rifling through some of my personal belongings. So obviously that's a good sign that this store is right up my alley.
All the items are in excellent condition, displayed nicely and priced modestly. Lots of cute clip-on earrings, dressy hats and chunky bead necklaces. I could easily buy every item on the clothing rack. And the sizes of the clothing seemed like they would be a perfect fit. So many times I have been disappointed in my thrift expeditions by coming across a cute dress that is either sized for an elephant or thumbelina. The clothing here is the perfect size for a normal size gal, imagine that!
Also there is a cute little shop bird named Norbit. -

Attention: Do not come here if you are hoping to rifle through racks of vintage clothing. There is one rack of clothing and I have a feeling that if I went out wearing the prairie dress that I tried on yesterday I'd be getting the side eye all day. And usually I'm the one giving the side eye, like today, when I found out that Jewel Osco has a twitter...
Anyway, A Touch of Vintage is a charming little store that one should check out if they are in the neighborhood. I live a couple blocks away and love looking in the windows at night to see if they got anything new in. They have a handful of bigger items, like dressers, chairs and end tables but most of the store is composed of housewares and other random doodads. Everything is very fairly priced and reminds me of my grandma's house.
The name of this store describes it perfectly since there's really just one or two of what you might be looking for (i.e. 1 cute 1960's dressing table, a few zippo lighters, 1 typewriter, 1 porcelain tea set, 1 grandfather clock, etc.)
If you come on a Saturday between 3-6, walk a couple doors down to Provenance afterward for their free wine tasting.
Oh, and if you happen to be walking your dog but want to stop in for a quick look, they usually don't have a problem with you bringing your dog into the store with you, as long as he's tiny and well behaved. Well, I take that back, they did have a problem after my dog started doing the same thing Toby, from those stanley steemer commercials, did... "WHAT IS HE DOING??!" "Um, I'm not sure. This is awkward..." -

They have the best stuff. I always go in after I get a trim at Mops and walk around for a half hour checking out everything. The guy that is there is always super nice. To me, that means not asking me if I need help every 2 minutes. Very chill. I bought a couple of purses from here (1 was for a present that I almost kept for myself....) Cheap prices compared to other vintage stores in the city (ahem! Belmont Ave.)
P.S. That bird noise is not one of those weird sound machines, it is an actual bird sitting in the window. Please resume your regularly scheduled thrifting. -

This is one of the neatest, most laid-back vintage shops I've been in, and affordable too!
The space is the perfect size: not so big that little treasures get overlooked, and not so small that you're tripping over everyone and everything.
Merchandise is artfully displayed, and turns over fast enough that it feels like a new store every time I return. The selection varies and is typically high quality, mature-shopper friendly, not rack after rack of cheap disco outfits. (There are, however, two racks of tastefully vintage, wearable clothing.) You'll also find fun houseware items, jewelry, furniture and art.
Julee, who runs the shop, is a complete gem! She offers fair prices for consignment, and she'll never make you feel like you're not "hip" enough to shop in her store. ( Even though she could, cuz she's so damn cool!) Now go see her! -

I'm definitely a fan of their numerous housewares and how all of their dresses (and there's only two racks worth) seem to fit me. Yay for realistically sized clothing. A touch of vintage is very cozy and cute, right down to their makeshift dressing room. The prices are perfect and everything seems to be clean and neat.

this is really cute and i'm fortunate to have it on my walk home from the train. it's got a pretty constant rotation of knick-knacks and jewelry. you really never know what you might find.
specialties include:
*women's jewelry--great necklaces/brooches/earrings and all very reasonable. most is just costume stuff but cute and in good shape
*kitchen accessories--think some cocktail glasses and kitchy salt and pepper shakers
*small furniture--maybe a shelf or two, lamps, mini tables
*men's tie clips--very nice ones and reasonable. if you're looking to go madmen start here. way cheaper than big dept stores and more fun!
*friendly staff--thank god. -

Reminds me of my grandmother's house (in a good way). The staff working here is super helpful. I went in looking for a specific item, which they didn't have, but they were nice enough to take my number and call me if anything like it ever showed up in their inventory. You won't find a huge selection here, but for that shortcoming you can expect to see a high concentration of truly unique items.

This is a true jem in the Logan Square area. One of my favorite spots for vintage jewels and accessories. Julee is such a doll and her prices are insanely reasonable. Stop in often as her assortment changes daily and be sure to say hello to the darling bird in the shop!

i just bought some clip-on earrings that look like some kinda feathery sci-fi bluetooth. and a fluorescent flower pin.
then they put it in the tiniest little bag ever, which just made things even better. that, and the store has a bird. what could be better than a store with a bird? not very much, i imagine.
come here if you want cute old stuff. it's great and the staff are friendly.
and there's a little bird. -

I realized today I have been mainly reviewing my least favorite places in the city and ignoring the best. So here's a shout out to A Touch of Vintage, a place that always makes my daily walk brighter with their adorable and affordable wares. The owner is as lovely as her merchandise, and always up for a nice chat. This is the kind of store that gives Logan Square its soul.

This place is wonderful. The selection is great, the staff is super friendly, and the prices are always reasonable. Plus everybody loves a store with an animal in residence. I wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. When I want to buy myself a gift, this is one my my favorite places to shop.
