AAAHHHHH-MAZING!!!!! While staying at Hotel Metropole during the off season I made an appointment at A Touch of Heaven Day Spa located in the same building as the hotel. I got an awesome deal ~ $100 for a 45 minute massage and 45 minute facial (normally this package is $130). The experience was very relaxing and I would highly recommend this spa to anyone staying on the island.

They normally charge $240 for the 90 minute couple's massage. We were able to get the special for $200, which is a great deal as it comes down to $100 / person for 90 minutes.
The massage was great. They worked me pretty well and had me feeling almost like Jello by the time they were done. My wife fell asleep and thought it was great as well.
If there was a 4.5, I'd give this place a 4.5, but I can't, so it's a 4 for me because I can't bring myself to give it a 5. They spaced the massage tables too far apart, so I felt like I was getting my own massage instead of a couple's massage. Their setup is really two rooms, but for couples, they open up the partition. It is not as intimate as other day spas I've been to with my loved one. Other than that, it was a great massage, and I recommend this place. -

This place was great. Worth every bit of the reasonable pricing.
I have never had such an intense massage before in my life. These fine ladies had me feeling like Jello, in a good way, for 48 hours. They really know how to get to the tender spots and work them out.
We got some sort of couples' package that included several options. It was a two hour experience. The facial was great. My first time and it wasn't too girly for me, though I was initially concerned about this. ;) To be fair I believe I received the "gentleman's facial," which is a nice way of saying the same facial that women get.
Plus you can't beat the convenience of it being simply downstairs if you are staying at Hotel Metropole. It is located under the glass elevator that looks out on the courtyard. It is hidden, and tranquil. -

We recently had a couples massage at this place. It was Valentine's weekend so it must have been busy as they had a package deal going with a local hotel. We showed up and waited in the courtyard for our appointment.
We regret not stopping the massage and just leaving. It was not relaxing, not enjoyable, and just not good. We were led up one flight of stairs to the roof top and into a tent/cabana with one space heater. It was freezing OUTSIDE, and we were asked to undress...keep in mind, this is a winter evening on an island. BRRRRR! Being in a tent, outside, it was very easy to hear all the noise from the street and it was very loud with children playing and screaming in the courtyard. The actual massage was maybe a 3/10 but the atmosphere totally ruined the experience. My partner's massage was worse and felt he was just getting COLD lotion rubbed on him.
Would not go back. ever. Our friends had a massage actually inside the building and thought it was an OK experience. I just can't get over that anyone thought it was a good idea to do massages in a loud area outside in the winter. What were they thinking??!!?!? I also don't think the workers were very professional nor courteous. -

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by the massage we received here. I am often hesitant to go to a new massage place, and we were not able to read any reviews prior to booking, but with someone to watch the baby we grabbed the opportunity and made a walk-in appointment for a couple's massage. No amenities at this day spa, but the room and ambience were nice. The massage itself was fantastic, one of the best I have ever gotten. My masseuse got the pressure just right, really working out all the knots and getting me completely loose, but in a comfortable and relaxing way. Really an excellent massage. My husband was pleased with his massage as well. This place is worth it for the quality of the massages given.

i frequently get massages so i'm always weary of new places. anyhow we decided to give this place a shot. i called & scheduled 2 deep tissues massages for us. we show up & well there's no real waiting room. you sit outside in the courtyard & they take you to your room. our appointments were for 4pm, we didn't get let into the room until 4:05 and then after we get undressed & ready, they didn't get started until 4:10.
for a deep tissue massage, i think they used way too much lotion & oil. the massage itself was alright. the pressure was good, but it seemed like my therapist didn't really care to work on my major knots much. and she also spent too much time just kinda playing w/my scalp lightly. which i find kinda annoying an not that relaxing. i don't mind a good scalp massage w/pressure, but it was this weird light, barely touching thing. anyhow, at exactly 5pm our massages came to an end. i hate it when it's really a 50min massage & not a full hour.
the prices on the website said it would be $95 per person but when we went to pay it was only $150 total. ok, nice surprise.
we left w/our pockets a little fuller than we thought, but super greasy & dirty feeling.
this place overall is ok. it's got no amenities. if you need to use the bathroom, you have to use one around the corner. no showers, no steam room. it's pretty bare minimum. they give you a bottle of water on the way out & that's about as fancy as it gets. -

My husband and I got the couples' package (1-hr massage/1-hr facial) for $300. They started him off with the massage and started me with the facial. The lady that did my facial seemed ok. She did a lot of face massaging but didn't seem like she made good effort with extractions. Then when the massage came, she pretty much rubbed oil all over and not really got my knots out. It was very similar to what X-tine N. also mentioned.. mostly scalp massages which did get pretty annoying. They had us complete a one-page document which asked for areas of focus which didn't even seemed to be adhered. And it only lasted 50 mins, not 1-hr like they stated. I also heard a lot of walking from the second floor and a colicy/crying baby. My husband on the other hand, got a lady named "Sammie" and seemed very satisfied with her. We returned the following day and expressed we weren't happy with the massage I received so they comped me a 1hr massage with Sammie which did much better than the previous "scalp-massaging" lady. Because of that nice way of making it up, I probably will go back to this spa.

I liked the fact that I was able to make an appointment for the same day. I made a reservation for the 'Heavenly Special.' The treatment included a facial and a massage. I was told that even though it was only a 90 minute treatment, I would get a 1 hour facial and a 1 hour massage. I happily agreed. My appointment was at 6 PM. I arrived at 5:50 PM and tried to walk into the spa. The person who made my reservation greeted me and asked me to sit outside while she finished with the clients she was tending to. It was cold outside, so she offered a heater space fan that was close to the doorway. I waited patiently for about 20 minutes. I was finally escorted in at 6:10. I was asked to undress and lay face down on the table. There were no lockers and the space was very small. I was given the massage first and it was okay. I was asked what type of pressure I enjoyed, and I answered that I was most comfortable with light pressure. It really did not make a different what I said because the pressure was medium to hard ... After my massage, the missueus said she kept trying to remind herself that I said I wanted light pressure. I really did not enjoy the massage because it was really cold. The missueus used peppermint lotion which did not help me warm up any. I was not offered an extra blanket to warm me up. I think the missueus could have offered me an extra blanket since she could tell I was cold --after all my feet were freezing and felt considerably colder than her hands. After my massage, I was asked to go to the facial table. Again, I was asked about my preferences. I told the person doing my facial I had very sensitive skin and did not think I could benefit from too much exfoliating. Again, my preferences did not make a difference because the exfoliant was harsh for my skin. After the facial my face felt very irritated. The warm towels that were place on my face did not smell fresh and clean, they smelled a little mildewy. My facial did not last 1 hour. The fact that the facial did not last 1 hour would not have bothered me too much except for the fact that I was promised a 1 hour treatment at the time of my reservation.
