Review from Chanda I.
i studied abroad in the netherlands and it's not every day you can find your dutch food staples and home decor.
who knew i'd find this cute store in this cute town. Coupeville is a charming town with a street of shops along the water. In the dutch shop has a lot of dutch delft pottery, the blue and white pottery the dutch is known for.
they even have clog house slippers.
i was so happy and felt a sense of nostalgia to get food items. I was able to get stroowafels (waffle cookies filled with syrup in between like an ice cream sandwich but with waffle cookies). they're great to pair with tea or coffee.
i also got dutch sprinkles which are amazing! they're not the like the waxy crap americans call sprinkles. these taste like real chocolate heaven.
the dutch put them on toast, butter and a whole lotta sprinkles. -

Overall: A great place to pick up some Dutch specialties
We made a trip especially to visit A Touch of Dutch, as we wanted to stock up on licorice and alsorts of Dutch goodies.
I wasn't expecting much, as I knew it was a pretty small store. However, I was somewhat disappointed when we got there. The selection of foodstuffs is somewhat limited, and although the local paper boasts 30+ types of licorice (including non-Dutch varieties), I'm sure there were barely 15. I know they DO have 30+ on their online website though.
They had stroopwafels, speculaas, different varieties of sprinkles (including chocolate), cereal, almond pastries (including banket), crisp bread, honey cake, mints, cookies, and some candies. They also do some frozen/chilled items, including cumin gouda, which is available in PCC.
The main proportion of this store is giftware... mainly Delftware and lace-y stuff. There was so much Delftware, it was enough to give J nightmares (he went to Delft Uni). They also had jewelry, soaps, lip balm and teeshirts.
All the prices were pretty reasonable, and service was ultra-friendly.. it's just a shame that the selection was somewhat limited. -

A Touch of Dutch is a quaint little shop along Coupeville's Historic Waterfront. It has all sorts of wonderful jewelry, Dutch food, and gift items.
In addition, this shop sells the best lip balm I have ever used - Northridge Gardens Lip Balm. It makes my lips super soft and smooth, and keeps them very hydrated. My mom and aunt also love the Northridge Gardens Moisturizing Lotion Bar, which is used sort of like hand lotion.
This shop is definitely a must-visit.Listed in: Coupeville

This is a great little place. And when I say little I mean that my first studio apartment probably has more square footage than this place. Regardless of size "A Touch of Dutch" has a big heart. It has all sorts of jewelry, Dutch food, and gift items. They even have the wooden clogs! Also, Misty Blanton, the woman that owns it is super friendly and willing to special order items if her store doesn't carry it.
I usually stop by there to pick up some of my favorite Dutch cookies and treats. I would say that if you can't make it out to Whidbey Island to check out this little gem, then go online to their website and do some shopping from the comfort of your own home.
