Review from Charley C.

Just had the Lunch Buffet today and it was terrific. The chick peas, the vegetable curry and the tandori chicken were all very flavorful and the rice was fluffy and there were two types. All in all it was a good value and a delight to my taste buds.

Review from Buster M.
Los Angeles, CA
I've gotta agree with Adam B.'s review. This place is a bastion of mediocrity.
The butter chicken is passable, the biryani is a joke, and the vegetables seemed to have been subjected to some cooking process that removes all flavor from organic substances. Certainly, buffet food has its limitations, but this was just a plain waste of time and calories. -

The food here is very good. I loved the lamb curry, the chicken with spinach, and the momos. They make a wonderful mango ice cream. The staff is lovely. They cook mild to moderate so if you like it hot, just ask, I'm sure they'll spice it up!

Fantastic ! I've eaten Indian and Nepalese food all over from Los Angeles to Las Vegas to Chicago to New York. This is the first time I've felt compelled to write about it.
We ordered 5 a la carte dishes this evening. Of these, my ranking from best to good (because nothing was bad) is: vegetable korma, lamb vindaloo, garlic naan, saag aloo, and vegetable mo mo. This place is delicious, fresh, flavorful, filling. On top of that, service is attentive and friendly. We enjoyed dinner so much, we plan on coming back for their lunch buffet (M-Sat).
If you enjoy memorable Indian food, this restaurant is a must try. -
Review from Nichole F.
Pocatello, ID
I've only been here once, and I had the lunch buffet with my family. The place was pretty busy, but we were seated right away and had drinks immediately. We were told to help ourselves to the buffet and boy did we. Everything we tried was great! Even as busy as it was, our drinks were kept full. Items were regularly being re-filled and/or replaced on the buffet, so I'm confident it was all quite fresh. Without a doubt I'll go back.

We eat here semi-regularly and our overall experience has been consistently good.
They serve authentic Indian food. We've never had anything that was truly amazing but we've never had anything that was worse than mediocre either.
The staff has always been attentive and very friendly and the service has always been reasonably quick. You have to fill your own doggie bag but that's never been a problem when we've eaten here.
It's a comfortable place to eat: well-lit, quiet, small, but not crowded. -

Best Indian food within 250 miles. The lunch buffet is hit-and-miss, but I have never had a problem with anything I ordered from the menu. Service is a little slow, but not inattentive. I recommend the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and rice pudding.

Kind of quiet on a Tuesday evening. The place was clean, with a reasonably nice decor. I had the Palak Paneer. Spinach with chuncks of a farmers cheese in a wonderful sauce over basmati rice - wow, it was excellent. I'll go again next time I'm in Pocatello.

Touchdown in Pocatello!!! This restaurant has it all... great food, prices, and service in a lovely upscale casual atmosphere. The deep red walls with crisp white linens and the wonderful smells welcome you to this unexpected delight. The butter chicken and lamb vindaloo were outstanding. Being from Texas, we like it HOT, so the food could have been a little more spicy, but it did not disappoint us in any way. And the garlic naan bread was the best we have ever had! It looks to be coated in butter and garlic and more than likely cooked tandoori style, as it was nice and crispy. It was awesome. The somosa in chole (chickpea) as an appetizer was also very good. This is our last night in Pocatello and I'm so glad we ended our trip to this lovely city at the best Indian restaurant in town; one of the best restaurants in Pocatello for that matter...

Anyone rating this place 5 stars hasn't ventured out much. The buffet was OK at best. The butter chicken had a nice flavor but the quality of the chicken was mediocre and the rest of the buffet was OK. This place wouldn't survive 6 months in LA. Also the place was empty and the service was nearly non-existent.

Pocatello, ID
Wonderful Indian and Nepalese food with friendly service, reasonable prices, and a casual atmosphere. I've eaten at 7-8 other Indian or Nepalese restaurants around the country; this place has the best food and lowest prices. The lunch buffet (M-F till 2pm, $8.49 per person as of this writing) is outstanding, though just about everything is moderately spicy. I can't vouch for it's authenticity, but the food is clearly made from fresh ingredients by skilled cooks. A standout in a town with few great restaurants!

I'm from a large city and was here on business. I was pleasantly surprised by the food here. Spicier than I would have thought, be aware. I just had takeout but enjoyed a decent glass of Cab while I waited for my food.

Solidly decent Indian, especially for Idaho. Take-out is dangerous, because we've been sent home with the wrong order more than once. However, we like it enough that we keep coming back (and make sure to double check our order before we leave).

To be honest, I was more than a little nervous to try an ethnic restaurant in Pocatello, but I am an adventurer at heart and decided to have dinner here anyway...there were a couple girls inside that seemed to be enjoying their meal. I ordered one naan, one roti, and their sampler plate that included shrimp curry, lentils, cauliflower and potato, and a dessert of rice pudding. The naan and roti came out first, which was a very tragic omen of the meal to come..the naan was so extremely thick and dense, it reminded me of personal pan pizza crust that had been cooked and cooled on the counter for a couple hours. The roti was extremely dense as well and had absolutely none of the delightful buttery flakiness I associate with good roti. With some trepidation, I tasted the shrimp curry... it was extremely bland and the shrimp was overcooked, with a rubbery texture. The vegetables were also quite bland and the lentils were a bit undercooked. Although the owner was nice, unless they seriously overhaul their recipes, I would not recommend this place to anyone who has enjoyed good Indian food before.
