I've passed this shop a couple times when stopping at Vegetable Delight(!!!!!!!!!), but always at night when it's closed, and I don't live nearby.  Thus, when Jessica H. and I went to visit my parents in the west Valley, I felt it necessary to finally check out A Sweet Design.

I'll readily admit that I'm a complete critical snob when it comes to cupcakes.  I eyed the goods under the glass, muttered with Jessica H. and my mom (Janet K.), and ended up picking four: vanilla bean chocolate chip, toffee, pistachio, and pink velvet.  The gal behind the counter was spectacularly friendly and gave my mom a punch card.

The three of us carefully split the cupcakes with my dad.  Starting with vanilla: the cake was light and not overly dense, sweet but not too much, and it's hard to go wrong with chocolate chips.  It's important to me to try a plain vanilla cupcake, because I feel like if a bakery can't get that right, where can they go from there?

Pink velvet was, first of all, adorable: pink cupcake, pink swirled frosting, and decorated with teeny heart-shaped pink/white/red sprinkles and edible glitter.  The small child in me was going bonkers.  It tasted as good as it looked, with both cake and frosting flavored like strawberry, and actual strawberry bits in the frosting; ok, the frosting was actually a bit sweet for my tastes.

The pistachio was definitely my favorite.  Green cake with pistachio bits, milk chocolate frosting that was really really chocolatey, both the cake and frosting were great on their own, but together: wow!  And the pistachio aftertaste was nice.

The toffee cupcake was a chocolate cupcake with dark chocolate frosting and toffee around the edges of the frosting.  I'm not much of a chocolate cake person to begin with, but this was pretty good: the cake wasn't too sweet, and the frosting was fantastically rich.  The crunchiness of the toffee bits was great.

    Totally going back.

Love the red velvet & pink velvet (strawberry). 4 cupcakes for $10 isn't bad at all. There's a $10 min for card transactions, just fyi.
Wish they had more of a selection but i love the ones I've tried.
Shop is very cute and the cake displays are so pretty.

It's a cute shop and the staff is very friendly.

As for the pastries. They're okay. I had the banana butterscotch cupcake and it was way too sweet for my liking. Still good but way too sweet. And that's surprising because I have a huge sweet tooth. They also have a calendar of monthly flavors but I don't think it's accurate. The day I came to get the banana butterscotch, it wasn't even supposed to be there so I suggest calling and asking what flavors they have for the day.

Their French macarons aren't anything special. They have a small selection of flavors. 5 or 6? I'm not sure. I've tried the strawberry and chocolate. The strawberry is okay but I did not like the chocolate at all. I bought a pistachio one for my dad and he didn't like it. He said it didn't taste like pistachio at all.

If you want macarons, I suggest you try Napoleon's Macarons in Westfield Topanga. Costs 20 cents more.. More flavors. Tastes better. Bigger macarons.

Maybe I'll come back on a day where they have different cupcakes just to try them out.

I've never been inside but my dad picked up a little dessert for us since we had some family over ! We got some of the french almond macaroons ...We got chocolate raspberry , pistachio , chocolate , coconut ...the pistachio had the best flavor but I've had better macaroons before && the coconut wasn't bad...these seem a litttllleee more chewy than some I've had...and they have all the normal flavors...I wish they would try different things !

I really like this place and how they have a schedule of flavors. Some of my favorites are the neapolitan, toffee, oreo and mocha. I always get the 4 pack which is $10 I believe. I feel like that's a pretty reasonable price. The only complaint I have is that I shared cupcakes with friends once and one of them found a small piece of eggshell in hers! I mean, she still ate it lol but just egg shell is never something you should be finding in a professional cup cake place! The next time I went in told them and they apologized but that was it.....not to be a freeloader but I expected a free cupcake or something! Like..that's just shocking!!!!!! I mean, I'll go back but there best not be no egg shells in my cup cakes!

I stumble upon A Sweet Design over yelp, and i was originally searching for a place to purchase desserts for my mom's birthday. I chose A sweet design after seeing the really cute pictures, and excellent ratings. When i went to the store, I walked in and it smelled sweet like an ice cream parlor. I bought 6 cupcakes and 4 macarons for a total of $12. I was totally shocked at the completely reasonable price. The designs of the cupcakes were also very cute, and the flavors were delicious. The macarons were also very very delicious, my mom agrees!
Although I wish they had more macaron flavors, I highly recommend a sweet design! :)

I stumbled upon "A Sweet Design" on a Friday night when Granada Hills does their food truck fest. After that, i've been a fan. As of yet, I've only tried their Pink Lemonade and Churro cupcakes but both of them are behind amazing.

    Pink Lemonade
    http://www.yelp.com/bi...
This one was my sisters favorite. The cupcake was really moist and really carried out the flavors of a pink lemonade. It wasn't too tart nor too sweet.

    Churro
    http://www.yelp.com/bi...
Isn't this one of the cutest things you've ever seen? It's a set of baby churros! Although the concept was good, i think it was missing something although i can't quite pinpoint the spice. The cinnamon sugar was definetly there but something else is missing..

Overall, I'd come back again. Btw, they have a yelp check-in offer to get a free cupcake if you buy another one. :)

I've only been here for the cupcakes (and have definitely had my share).

First off, yes, their cupcakes are delicious! From red velvet to their specialty flavors, the bread is always moist and the frosting always have the perfect non-over-sugary flavor. My favorite by far is pink velvet cupcake - a chocolatey/lemonade mix!

So why do I give them 3 stars? If they are going to charge roughly $3.50 each, they need to make them bigger, or at least more aesthetically pleasing; they look exactly like the cupcakes you get at supermarkets - nothing special.

Also, if you order two but want them in separate boxes, they will charge you extra. Um...what?

So overall, yes, their cupcakes are good, but it comes with a high price.

I can only review the actual cupcakes, since my husband was nice enough to pick some up for me...this being said, I didn't pick the flavors myself either.

He picked a multi-pack, which is nice since you get a discount on multiples, unlike other bakeries i know. They are also a little cheaper than another I recently tried.

The flavors he chose were: Classic chocolate, Oreo, Churro, Reese's, and Strawberry Champagne. I didn't bother with the Classic Chocolate-I don't believe in paying that much for a "normal" flavor I could make myself. The Oreo was no big deal to me, and the Churro was good for a different flavor, but not amazing to me. Obviously that leaves my favorite to be the Reese's and Strawberry. The Reese's reminded me of something my mom would make when I was younger, and the Strawberry was so moist and left an amazingly pleasant aftertaste along with the taste itself.

I definitely look forward to trying more flavors here in the future! Kudos!

Came here to get 2 dozen cupcakes fro my sister's birthday.  The girl who helped me was very nice and helpful.  I ended up picking an assortment of cupcakes: Oreo, pink velvet, red velvet, butterscotch, carrot cake, and white chocolate raspberry.  I believe their cupcakes are a little over $3 each if you buy them individually, but if you buy at least 4, the prices are reduced, which makes it a better deal.  She also offered to write a special complementary "happy birthday" message on sugar to go on one of my cupcakes, which was awesome!  oh, and if you check in to facebook while you are in their shop, you get a FREE mini cupcake sample!!

The cupcakes themselves were delicious and moist, ranging from not too sweet (pink velvet) to very very SWEET (butterscotch) and everything in between.  They also all looked very pretty and fun.  I displayed them in a cupcake tree stand and they looked awesome.  I will definitely be returning here.

    Dear Sweet Design,

I enjoy your cupcakes - the Oreo particularly.  But man, you pissed me off with your macarons.  How dare you call it that... It's an insult!

I was hesitant to try but your perky counter girl promised that I would love it.  So I tried your pistachio.  It was overwhelming sweet and damn rock hard.  WTF??!!

Sweet design, please stick to cupcakes and leave the macarons to the real artists.  It's not a fad that you need to park your bandwagon on.  It requires a specific craft that you are definitely lacking.  I haven't returned since that dreadful visit.  When I am over the shock, I will return for your cupcakes.  Just the cupcakes.

I picked up a few cupcakes and macarons here. The place quaint, their cake display is amazing, although I can only review them for what I had.

I picked up 4 cupcakes: Oreo, chocolate, Reese's and carrot cake.
I was disappointed to see the far comparison between their cake display and their cupcakes. I guess the design didn't translate well with their smaller version of their sweets. The cupcakes looked grocery store bought, plain cake sprinkles and Reese's candies topping their frosting. The cake had some dryness and the frosting stiff as if it's been on display a while. The carrot cake was good though, moist, maybe it's because of the carrots shaved into the batter.
The macarons, well, not bad, but not great either.
5 flavors: chocolate,Lavander, pistachio, and 2 others. Mediocre. I've had better.

Their cakes, that's a different story. I might give them another shot, when I need a cake for an event. Further review in the near future?

I have also gone in for cupcakes on more than several occasions . . . and there is a nice variety and everyone is delicious!! Yes, I agree that they are a bit pricey, but it is worth it. They are a treat to eat!!

I will continue to give my business to A Sweet Design & I look forward to special events so I can have a really cool cake made!!

i went in on a saturday afternoon to but cupcakes for a friends birthday. It was my first time there, so any questions that I had were answered in a nice professional manner.

So i ordered a pink velvet, toffee, neapolitan, and a vanilla bean. They were a little on the small side, but the cake was incredibly moist and just the right amount of sugar. The pink velvet was by far the best one. I also tried a pistachio macaroon which was not so good. It tasted too artificial.

I will definitely continue to go there!

I gave them a second chance on the macaroons. I got to say that I was much happier this time around. I got the Blueberry, Pistachio, Chocolate Raspberry, and Vanilla. They all exceeded my expectations and were very good. Nice soft chewy texture. Not too rich and sweet. The Blueberry one was the best out of all of them. You can just taste the blueberries in it. The chocolate raspberry was that only one that had somewhat of an overpowering flavor, but still pretty good.

$1.50 for a macaroon is a little steep in my opinion. A lot of other places I found them to be $1.00. It's okay though. Does not mean I won't come back to get my macaroon fix.

Don't get me wrong their cupcakes are delish - B-U-T how can they charge for packaging? My husband loves this place and even got a punch card. If you buy quantities of 4,8, etc. - they will punch your card, and after the 8th punch you get a free 4 pack (or whatever pack your card is for).

Sooooooooooooooo - 4 - 8 packs later (which is $80 total, not including any singles we purchase as they are not accounted for) we were so excited to finally get our "free pack" - so we pick out our four cupcakes, and the nice lady behind the counter says we're ready to go...then the owner, who is usually in the store taking special orders and meeting with clients, say "don't forget the $0.75"

WHYYYY - BECAUSE WE HAVE TO PAY FOR THE CONTAINER THAT HOLDS OUR CUPCAKES!! (My husband got two to go containers, one cupcake was for a co-worker, so he asked if they could pack that up separately. This was before we knew we had to pay for each container!)

OK - I get it, it costs for the plastic container, and the sticker with your business info on it, but WE BOUGHT $80 plus freaking dollars worth of cupcakes and you can't comp one freaking container. Give me a break! Yeah, yeah you were on food network and did a cake for Jason Derulo or whoever his name is, but don't forget the local customers who give you lts of business. YOUR 9th pack aint free friends!!!!!! Bring change for your carry out container or try to juggle them with your hands.

Had high hopes for this bakery because I heard such good things, but it was a bit of a let down. Dropped by to pick up some cupcakes for my brother's birthday: tiramisu, chocolate banana butterscotch, chocolate bacon, turtle, Oreo, Neapolitan. The cake was dense and a bit on the dry side and the frosting was hard (like it's been sitting out for awhile...a day?). The cupcakes' appearance were very simple like the ones you buy in the grocery store...nothing fancy for the price you pay. I don't think I'll be coming back for more...

I really like their cupcakes, yet to try anything else. I got a variety- lemon, red velvet and couple others, all were really good..! All the staff was really nice, except one girl who seemed like she wasn't happy working there.  I failed bcse I should have got her name and WE ALL NEED TO DO THIS...bcse we need to let owners know whats up--- most owners would want the chance to fix it and re-train the person if possible, or fire them if it came to that. I know starting a business costs bucks so I failed on not getting her name.

Back to the cupcakes, they were moist flavorful and worth going out of your way for if you get craving for a cupcake...

I tried the cupcakes here a while back but I guess they weren't that memorable. I wanted to revisit because it's very close to my place and I gots to get my cupcake fix every now and then.

I picked out Chocolate Hazelnut (my new discovery), Butterscotch and Red Velvet. I think the cake just tastes ok but the frosting is good.

It's not worth it to get just a couple. They have a good deal for the package of four. It's 4/$10 (and $3.25 for an individual cupcake!). Cupcakes are so overpriced nowadays.

    Will probably come back.

i was walking on Chatsworth with the kids, and decided to stop in for a cupcake. The flavor choices were wonderful! Being there was 5 of us, we all got something different and shared. Smore's, Turtle, Bacon Maple, Oreo, and Chocolate Chip Vanilla Bean...they were all very good!!  Moist cake, perfect amount of delicious frosting, and fresh flavor. They offer different flavors on different days of the week, so next time, I will be calling ahead to check. I also noticed french macaroons, and brownies. I will definitely be coming back!  Small warning, but also could be a fun night out...on Friday's they have food trucks out on Chatsworth, so it could be hard to park if your only coming for the cupcakes.

Doesn't matter what time of day you go in, you will always be stuck behind the dumb ass that has to ask questions about every cupcake because they can't decide what to get, "So...what does the chocolate cupcake taste like?" Wow! They really should have two lines, one for people who know what they want and get get them in and out in under 5 minutes and a line for people who act like choosing a cupcake is an S.A.T. exam!

The cupcakes are just "ok" for me. I do like their pink red velvet and red velvet cupcakes. The size is smaller than Sprinkes of Beverly Hills, but the same price. It's probably because this is one of the few cupcake shops in this side of the San Fernando Valley. I asked the attendant, "does your carrot cupcake have nuts"? She looked at me like I was crazy, "of course it does!" She says. I told her I don't like cakes with nuts and I just didn't like her tone. What if I had a nut allergy?!

Cakes - their cake designs are pretty. I've tried getting quotes for 2 different types of specialty cakes and the prices are a bit outrageous. I called about a simple 2 tier round cake that feeds 30 people with just fondant and piped writing "Happy Birthday", etc. Price? $179?! What?! No way!  I did try one of their cakes at a kid's birthday party. It was moist and delicious but not $179 worth.

French Macaroons - now this is what I come in for! This started off as a one time thing for Valentine's (2011), but due to popular demand, they frequently have them but call ahead of time because they run out quick and they still haven't figured out to make more to fill the demand.

Parking - street parking, so good luck!

The Oreo cupcake was soft, it had chocolate filling inside, and vanilla frosting with Oreo crumbs. It was fabulous. I also had the pink velvet, red velvet, and the carrot cake. Absolutely grand.

I was a little reluctant to come in, although, I've been eyeing this little place since I moved to Granada Hills.

Compared to Sprinkles (and another cupcakery in San Diego called Heavenly Cupcakes), A Sweet Design isn't as great as Sprinkles but is a great improvement to Heavenly Cupcakes--yea, Heavenly Cupcakes was that bad.

However, I do like the fact that  A Sweet Design's has a variety of desserts. I haven't tried everything, but I have had their chai cupcake with hazelnut frosting and their chocolate dipped coconut macaron. Overall, their macaron was satisfactory (not extremely special but nor was it underwhelming), and their chai cupcake was decent. I liked that the chai was apparent, but the frosting was sweet and overpowering of the chai. I had to take some off the top of the frosting. Also, if you don't eat the straw cookie on top of it right away, it'll get soggy and only serve as decoration if you wait too long.

Other than that, 3 stars because they're convenient when I need a quick cupcake fix, but if I have the chance to go to LA, I would.

Also, parking was kind of an issue because I didn't know whether I should pack along the street, or if I should have parked in the back, which I ended up doing.

Not only was the attendant super nice and excited about explaining what the cupcakes had, but the cupcakes are deeeelicious! The Carrot Cake had a delicious cream cheese frosting, not overly sweet, and I believe I chewed on something like walnuts inside of it? SO good! They also have a rare Pink Velvet cupcake with a white chocolate frosting that isn't overly sweet either, and was also delicious! The owner was actually there and looked out to us as we were eating asking if it was good with a thumbs up. And indeed! They also make big beautiful cakes.

I saw the French macaroons but didn't order any. Next time for sure!

I'm sorry , I thought I was in a specialty cake shop??...Its a shame when you can now get a bigger..better cupcake(with a cute box) out of a CUPCAKE ATM (sprinkles) for the same price as this place!! Shame on the person who gave A Sweet Design 1 star because they were mad that they used their living social voucher and the shop nickle and dimed them for packaging. Come on. It's a great deal!  You didn't even say how the cupcakes were. Just kept going on about the boxes. Sheesh.

    Anyhoo...
I came by the shop yesterday afternoon (Saturday) to use my Livingsocial voucher of a dozen cupcakes for i think $9? Holy dang, what a friggin AMAZING deal! The service is always great and the selection is great, considering I was there on a late Saturday afternoon. I got 1 red velvet, 2 pink velvets, 1 reeses, 1 hoho, 2 carrot, 2 mint chip, 2 cookies and cream, 1 blueberry macaron, and 1 peach macaron (I was able to substitue 1 cupcake for 2 macarons)

All flavors were delicious. Cake was moist, icing a little too sweet, but it's easy to just scrape that sucker off anyway.

I LOVE coming here when I'm on a cupcake craving. Never disappoints!

I also wanted to compliment on the cake I ordered from them for my son's baptism party. It was exactly how I imagined it. Beautiful and DELICIOUS. I kept getting compliments on how delicious the flavors were. I got a 3 tier cake, 2 teirs with pink velvet and 1 teir red velvet.

I LOVE how this cake studio is as custom as it gets. I originally placed an order w/Porto's for my son's baptism cake. But after making the choices and placing the deposit, I found myself not happy with the selection. Portos was very cookie cutter and didn't want to budge with what I wanted customized. So I happily canceled that order and went to A Sweet Design. I sat with the consultant and she listened to what I wanted and was able to customize every inch of that cake. So happy :). I just have one little comment, though. I wish the penmanship on the cake's message was a little neater. The next time I order a cake from there, I'll make sure to ask if they can just print something from the computer and transfer that to the chocolate plate.

So if these cupcakes were just a bit cheaper or bigger, they'd get four stars from me!

Everyone who helped us were super nice and the cupcakes were tasty. Not amazing, but good. I do understand why people love this place, but I'm not one of them.

Here's the problem, they were almost $4 each and they were small. Not microscopic, but pretty darn small. Not worth the price considering they were on the "too sweet" side.

I will not be returning for cupcakes (which I guess means I won't be returning). For even tastier cupcakes at only $2.50 a pop, (similar size though), try Big Sugar Bakeshop in Studio City if you don't want to pay that much for super sweet cupcakes.

OMG. French Macaroons. My cousin and I were here to buy cucakes with her Living Social coupon and we did and on a whim I decided to hit up the macaroons. Today they only had coconut flavor.

DAMN. They were HUGE and so good. Took me 3-4 good bites and I loved every nibble. Every morsel. Fuck the cupcakes. I'm coming again for French Macaroons.

1.5 hour bike ride + 0.5 hours on the elliptical = 4 guilt free cupcakes.

    It's an exact science.

No, I didn't really eat them all at once. I did however take a couple bites out of each (I'm known for taking bites out of chocolates and then putting them back in the box too). If you are what you eat, then I am very, very sweet. Oh look, I rhymed.

I got the chocolate cheesecake, chocolate toffee, red velvet, and oreo. The frosting on the oreo had that weird chemical taste that grocery store cupcakes often have. Pass on that. Red velvet, great frosting. Maybe it's because of my affinity to all things chocolate, but the chocolate toffee and chocolate cheesecake were exceptional. Maybe I got lucky, but my cupcakes were not the least bit dry. What's worse than a dry cupcake? Hmm, maybe chemical frosting.

All in all, I'm very pleased with my cupcake extravaganza.

But what's with the office desk out on the floor? It's weird.

Woooo, a bakery in the area!! I always drove by this place and was tempted to go inside, but time never allowed it. My boyfriend and I were driving around and we finally gave it a try. As soon as we walked in, I was confused for a second, it looked more like a consulting business rather than a bakery. On one side is the display area with fabulous cakes, the other side is a small desk where I assume that customers order cakes and   pastries, and all the way at the end is a small counter with their selections of cupcakes and other sweets.

It was probably because we picked a bad time to go, but their variety of cupcakes seemed very limited. Nevertheless, we opted for the strawberry cupcakes, I forgot the name of them. They were delicious! The bread was very spongy and didn't just crumble into pieces. The frosting was very sweet, but it fit the bread perfectly!

    I can't wait to go again :)

To be honest, I have really experienced better. I am only giving them an extra star because there has to be a reason why they have a huge client-base. The places itself is really pretty and the service was perfect. There were two girls hard at work on the computers, I am guessing taking orders, and one girl behind the counter. She was very sweet and got through the line fairly quickly. We ordered their Red Velvet, Pink Velvet, Mocha Kaluaha?, and their Oreo Cupcakes. We also got four of their French Vanilla Macarons and a brownie. The total came out to be a little under $20.
First of all, The Macarons tasted like crap. I don't have a fascination with macarons but these were just blah. I spit mine out out and so did my mom. The other two went in the trash. The brownie was really good...I am trying to justify it being worth the $20 alone. The cupcakes were nothing special. I can make equally good cupcakes with my Betty Crocker mix. The one cupcake that stood out the most was the Oreo Cupcake. If we do come back, it'll be for that and the brownie. I am willing to try the macarons again, but definitely not the French Vanilla.

I really do enjoy the cupcakes, but they've started to nickel and dime me, (when the prices are not cheap to start with).

This place is THE culprit for sugar-highs, addictions, diet failures, family feuds, and empty wallets.

Walking into this store was probably the most dangerous decision of my life, but it's too late to regret getting sucked into the cupcake and macaron addiction madness.  Whenever I walk in, I buy wayyyy more than intended just because I can't make up my mind as to what I want and regret not buying more while I had the chance if I don't buy more.  So the four-pack is purchased with the excuse that I will share with family...I try to sneak off and eat one in private until my parents give me the evil eye and follow me with a knife so they can cut and claim their portions.  It gets scary when I realize that, although I will share anything else, I turn into gollum when it comes to these.

I should introduce you to their dangerous culprits:
    - pink velvet (a delicious strawberry cupcake; their frosting is surprisingly refreshing although a bit more on the sweet side than safe from instant sugar high side)
    - s'mores (layered with graham cracker crumbles and marshmallow ganache)
    - tiramisu (very moist and half the sweetness of the others; quite delicious)
    - french macarons (the pistachio and chocolate dipped coconut are my favorites)

They're perfectly coupled with equally sweet service from their counter ladies. The only things keeping me from living on their doorstep are the relatively short store hours, my short-leashed budget, and a fear of getting diabetes in the next 3 years.

And now, ever since I found out about their punch cards, I just hope I don't get the diabetes...

course when i saw that living social was having a deal I decided to give this place a try. It pretty much right down the street from me. The deal was a dozen for $14 rather than $24. They only have 8 flavors so we decided to get one of each plus a few extras of the ones that sounded especially tasty. My favorite would have to be the oreo, with cookie bits in the cake itself and chocolate frosting in the middle covered with vanilla frosting. the most disappointing would be the french apple. I thought the cake was a little too dry and crumbly...Their frosting is delicious. Surprisingly light while being incredibly flavorful. Different flavored frosting too, like rum, vanilla bean, strawberry, mint, and champagne (which I'm pretty sure was sparkly) yay shiny things!

It's definitely in a convenient place and I will being come here again when i have a craving for cupcakes but not life changing. Apparently food trucks make night time stops here. Will visit again. promise!

Great cute little place on the corner just half a black from Zelzah along Chatsworth.  Best thing is this corner is the food truck meca for the SFV on the weekend and nothing is better then scarfing down some wicked awesome food truck delights and then follow up with a little trip into A Sweet Design for some delicious cupcakes.
Red Velvet, very moist.  Mild flavor, not too overpowering on the icing.
Pink Velvet (what!?) takes a bit like strawberry, and is really really good.
I also had a vanilla thyme flavored cupcake which blew me away.

Unique and inspired cupcakes.  $10 for a 4-pack mixed variety.

Extremely moist, flavorful, and light cupcakes. Acceptably priced, 2 for $6 and 4 for $10. The cupcake menu changes daily, but here are reviews of the cupcakes we sampled, in order of preference:

1] Marbled cherry and chocolate cake with cherry chunks, pistachio buttercream, topped with pistachio flakes. Flavors complement each other extremely well. The pistachio butter cream is surprisingly delicious; really light but packed full of flavor. It really emphasizes the sweetness of the cherry. Color looks really nice; beautiful when you cut into it

1] (it was a tie!) Lemon cake, blueberry cream cheese, topped with a blueberry. Flavors complement each other perfectly. Unlike most lemon cake, this isn't overpowering or too sweet; it taste natural and not processed or grainy. The real star of this cake is the frosting. It's like eating a magical blueberry cloud.

2] Chocolate cake with white chocolate chips, cookie dough buttercream, topped with a cookie chunk. This cupcake isn't as good as the others, but it's still delicious. It's not too sweet and the frosting isn't too chunky. However, the chips in the batter just sunk to the bottom of the cupcakes and stuck to the paper. Good idea, but needs tweaking.

3] Chocolate cake, peanut butter buttercream, topped with Reese's mini pieces. The pleasant surprise of this cake is the buttercream; it is surprisingly light and tasty. The cake has Reese's pieces throughout, but they take away from the velvety texture of the cake instead of enhancing it. It's good, but it doesn't hold up to the others we tasted.

Thanks to Emily C. for her input and companionship!

Used my livingsocial coupon and I loved the cupcakes! They were moist and delicious! Not dry and overly sweet.I am not a red velvet fan, but I had to try it and I'm glad I did. It did not taste like food coloring. Great job Sweet Design! I will definitely come back for more!
