Review from wells l.
Oakland, CA
Last fall, I purchased a large cargo bike from A Street Bike Named Desire and I have nothing but good things to say about the experience and the shop generally.
They were the only dealers in the region to carry the bike I wanted (the Christiania Bike or "Box Cycle"). They were knowledgeable about it, and it's respective advantages and disadvantages, and the one they sold me has functioned flawlessly since I made the purchase. So, in this sense, they offered everything I would want from a bike seller.
But they went above and beyond in several ways and made me feel like they were ready to work for my business. First, there was some confusion about my bike's appropriate list price and, though the confusion was not their fault, they came up with a solution to the quandary that was very fair. Second, they were quite responsive throughout the whole experience--they addressed me by name and paid attention to what I communicated. Finally, they were unstinting with their time on the phone and in the store. In fact, they let me haul one of their mechanics around in the bike in the parking lot, just so I could see what it was like to carry a person in the bike. That was fun.
I'm just glad that I live in Oakland and can't access the shop too easily: their selection of bikes is AMAZING and I could seriously spend every last dollar at their store if I didn't restrain myself! They specialize in bikes that people use in their daily lives--not racing or touring bikes--and have a great selection of folders, commuters, and cargo bikes, all displayed beautifully.
This is my favorite bike shop by a long shot. A great place. -

Outstanding customer service is found here...and really cool urban style bikes, unique helmets (people keep asking where I got mine), and quality bike panniers and baskets. Every item I have purchased here has been augmented with great customer service like helping me fit my helmet and giving me extra padding to do so. The guy went to the trouble to install a front bike pouch on my bike and showed me little tricks to help change the cover on my new helmet. Great store for anyone who enjoys the urban style biking and enjoys quality.

I've been in this bike shop several times since it opened. It is a quaint little shop that carries bikes that you normally don't find in your average bike shop ebikes, cruisers, etc.
The bikes all seem to be European made and of very good quality. Though they seem somewhat of the heavy side. The also offer some unusual bike accessories.
I have found the staff to be very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. You can test ride the bikes in the back parking lot.
My thought is also that if you do purchase a bike here at least you know you can go back to the shop for services for your special type of bike that might not be so easily serviced in you standard bike shop.
Even if you're not in the market to actually purchase a new bike at this time I think you will find this bike shop to be a different, fun, experience.
Check it out! -

Joe and his family want to sell the right bike for YOU. There's no pressure to buy but plenty of support to help you make the right decision if you do decide to buy.
The service doesn't stop after you purchase the bike. They stand behind all of the products they carry and ensure that they function in the manner that they promised you that they would.
If you're looking for a bike as a means of getting around town then this is your first and last stop. -

This hidden little gem has some of the best e-bikes around the Stanford area. The owners are definitely passionate about e-bikes and their enthusiasm shows.
I ended up buying an Ecobike Vatavio folding bike from them after looking at products from many other stores, both online and brick and mortar. This shop had the best selection of e-bikes around the Stanford area. What set them apart was the personalized attention and their focus on e-bikes rather than traditional bikes. I had considered ordering an iZip via Mezza or via Urbano online, but the cost of shipping such a heavy bike made it impractical. Moreover, buying from a local dealer offered me some assurance that I could get the bike repaired locally if needed. Other bike shops did carry larger bikes, but I was looking for a high quality folding bike that could be transported easily. -

I just went here for my first time, and I just love this bike shop. Great, helpful and so friendly mother and son team who walked me around the store and explained their whole selection and accessories. You can tell this place is run by someone passionate about what they do. Busy on the weekends, but you'll find great one-on-one time on a weekday.

I was looking for a Montague Paratrooper and this store was one of the few that carried them. I went on a weekday at lunchtime. The person who helped me was very knowledgeable and easy to deal with. He spent a lot of time showing me the bike.
It's a small shop, but they're passionate about what they have and they're really helpful. There is none of the attitude and indifference you find in many other bike shops.
Highly recommended. -

I feel like a queen riding my Pashley Princess Sovereign! Many thanks to Joe and the rest of the crew for opening up a terrific new bicycle shop--offering a wonderful selection of hard to find bicycles and having great accessories to match!! Run, don't walk to visit this new shop, and enjoy riding away on your new wheels!!!

The cutest bike shop ever! They carry a number of delicious European cruising bikes along with unusual accessories (eg. helmets painted like watermelons or shaped like fedoras). The owners are extremely nice and helpful; they let me test drive their bikes in the back parking lot to see how much fun they are to ride. If you are looking for a unique cruising bike, this is the place to visit.

Just bought an Ecobike and am already in love. We live in a condo, so having a battery that is easily removed and can be brought inside to recharge was a big selling point. I'm 62, have had a couple of knee surgeries and back problems so bike riding hasn't been something I could do. I also live up in Sharon Heights in Menlo Park, so having the battery assist is awesome. It took me just a little bit of riding to realize the bike knows when I'm starting to "work" and will slip into assist mode by itself. I had so much fun riding it from the very first ride. Joe was very helpful, helping me to switch to more of a cruiser style seat, adjusting handlebars so I was at a good angle for riding and explaining the bike from head to toe. I recommend the bike and the shop. What a great addition to our community and a great place for those of us who aren't "bikers" but want to bike. Thanks for being here.
