"Who's your guy?"
My guy is Ron, and I'm glad I found him. (Thanks again, Yelp!) I've been bringing my aging car here for the last year and a half and have had only good experiences. From oil changes to bad coils to misfiring cylinders to dead batteries and everything in between, the guys at Speedline have been exceptional.
The greatest thing is that they make an effort to educate you on what's going on with your car. Too often in the past, I felt like I dropped off my car to a stranger, mysterious things were done to it, then I got it back, and it worked, though I wasn't sure why. My experience at Speedline has helped take the veil of confusion off the work being done. Ron even has sat down and showed me car parts to help me better understand what my geriatric vehicle is going through these days.
I'm lucky that this shop isn't too far from where I live, but I expect that should I move further away from the shop, I will travel to get here. After all, when you finally find your car guy, you don't want to leave him. -

These guys are great!!!! My car died, they recommended a great Tow Service, the tow guy was super and was able to get my car started, and the he stayed while i ran upstairs to get my wallet (since I couldn't shut the car off) then i went over to Speedline and they took my car in and a new battery installed in minutes. The whole experience (AS ALWAYS) was wonderful. I have recommended them to friends and I will continue to use them over and over again. Thanks guys, you're the best!!! Thanks guys.

And I come here now that my mechanic in Villa Park fell through. I love these guys, in fact, I hate to give them such a great rating because it means more people will show up here. I think they probably have one of the highest rated shops in the city without my vote, but I'm happy to throw another 5 stars their way, they deserve it.

I.love.these.guys.
Let me start by saying that I was born in raised in Indiana. I grew up always having either my Dad or one of my brothers be able to fix my car and obviously, I trusted them.
When I first moved to Chicago, I lived in Ravenswood. I started going to a mechanic just down the block who was okay, until one day I caught that autoshop in a bold faced lie. Over a very minor detail, but its so important to trust your auto guy. And that's when I found Speedline, who was also down the block. I felt that I was always treated fairly, priced reasonably, and received quality service from Speedline.
But then I moved to Roscoe Village. In the 6 months that I have lived in Roscoe Village I've had several issues with my car which required repairs as well as a couple of oil changes. So, I tried 4, yep 4, autoshops in my new neighborhood and was severely disappointed (read: probably ripped off) with all of them. I finally had it when on my car started making a terrible noise, which I literally had the 4th auto guy in my neighborhood listen to, and yet he still returned it to me making the same noise, citing that it was probably 'because it needed to warm up.' I don't know a lot about cars, but I feel like I know enough to know that it was more than my engine not being warm. I was fed up, annoyed and concerned about this noise, and remembered Speedline. They aren't within walking distance anymore, but I didn't care, I was going to make the trek to go to a place I trusted.
I'm so glad I went back. Ron and his guys diagnosed exactly what was wrong within a few hours of them opening, fixed it and replaced two tires all within the same day. When I couldn't pick it up that day, they told me they opened at 7 am, early enough for me to pick it up in the morning and not have to take a second off of work. My car was quiet (in an amazing way) when I picked it up and I was charged reasonably for it (I still call my Dad to check). Ron also told me what he would have charged me for the shotty brake job the guy in my neighborhood did, and let me tell you, it would have been well worth the CTA fare or cab fare.
My dad's not in the city, but I trust these guys just the same. They told me they have people come to them from all the way in the south suburbs and I don't doubt it for a second. I'll never go anyplace else again! -

They don't stand by their word!
Let me preface this with an admission that I did get hot under the collar and I was not very ladylike when confronting them.
Now, onto the story. My boyfriend's car conks out after starting up, if it will even start. He called Speedline and they said bring it in in the AM. We were late, so my BF walked over there to ask the guy if we could still bring it in. "Yes" he said.
So "bringing it in" entailed pushing the car 4 blocks, across busy Foster avenue, onto busy Damen avenue to get it there. They knew this. After we pushed it there, into their driveway, where BF was TOLD to park, another guy came out and said, "sorry man, I can't get to this today, you have to get it out of our driveway". How pissed would you be?
I confronted them, told them I'd be reviewing them badly on Yelp for going back on their word (which we double-checked!), and making us push the car back home. They were rude in response.
Make of this what you will.
In response to Ron's comment on my review: A)you were the first place we tried. B) Why don't you put in your public comment what you said to me in a private message to my Yelp IN box?Comment from Ron D. of A Speedline Tire & Auto Service 8/20/2011

After receiving a suspect estimate from the shop we normally go to for emergency repair, a friend recommended we take our car here. The repairs done here ended up being nearly half the cost of the other guy's estimate. The main (most expensive) problem was actually misdiagnosed by the other shop. This place is awesome. Super good, honest work. We'll be taking our car here from now on. Thanks, Ron!

I had a nail in a tire and they diagnosed it as unrepairable; a few weeks later, I came in with another nail in a tire, and they were able to patch it, thus indicating to me that they are honest mechanics.
I get the sense that the owner is very involved in the business, which means excellent customer service. Very friendly service, and no b.s. upsells or lies like you'd get at a corporate auto joint (e.g., Midas). I like these guys.

Take your car to Speedline!!! Seriously. Do it. Even if you live far away, it will be worth it and you will feel like a better person for going to the local, more awesome guys.
As someone who admittedly knows nothing about cars, I have always felt totally comfortable dealing with the guys at Speedline. I know that they will be straightforward and honest with me about what I need. I've never once felt that they tried to oversell me on anything or take advantage of my naivete.
I recently went through the process of selling my first and only car through a private sale. Thankfully, I had Ron to basically coach me through it when things got a little hairy between myself and the buyer. The buyer heard a "funny noise" when test driving and requested that we bring the car somewhere to have it checked out. I brought it to Speedline the next morning where they reported back that there definitely was no "funny noise" but it was in need a brake job. Ron immediately gave me a price on the brakes, asked me what I was selling the car for, and told me what would be a reasonable amount of money to knock off the price of the car to sell it in need of a brake job. Ron then took time to deal with the buyer directly - telling her it was a fair price for my car and basically sealing the deal for me.
I cannot thank him enough for his patience while the sale went back and forth between the buyer, myself and Speedline. I ended up selling the car for the original price and the brakes were done by 5:45 when we didn't make a final decision until 3 that afternoon!
I'm almost sad I am not buying a new car right away because I won't have anything to take to Speedline. I'm moving out of the Ravenswood area soon, but I will 100% make the trip up there to take my next car in. -

Admittedly, I know nothing about cars so when something goes wrong with mine, I go into panic mode.
Recently I was pulled over by a friendly Chicago Police officer who informed me that I had no tail lights. He truly was friendly because he didn't ticket me. So, after work that day I pulled into Speedline to see if they could have a look at my car. Considering it was 4:30 in the afternoon, I full expected that would be without a car for the evening and the next day.
At about 5:45, I received a call from Speedline, telling me that my car was fixed. The technician found an issue with wiring, repaired it and replaced all the bulbs that had burned as a result of the issue. The grand total for this repair was about $85. Needless to say I was THRILLED!!
Speedline has been my go to place for auto repairs for the past couple of years. I've stopped taking my car to the dealership. I will continue to bring my car to them and will recommend them to anybody who asks about a reputable mechanic in the area. -

I'm a BIG fan! I recently had to get my oil change and the original auto shop I go to was busy and short staffed so I decided to go to Speedline to get my oil change.
These guys are top notch! I'm a fan and will continue to take my car here for services. The staff is super helpful and basically broke down what they do at that shop. I didn't have an appointment with them so the fact that they serviced my car and didn't turn me down was a plus for me.
You guys have to check this place out. -

This review is on behalf of my mom. We've been taking her car there for a year now and love it. It's too often that Toyota says everything is wrong with the car and that we need to spend thousands to fix it so we decided to break up with Toyota and never look back.
Thank goodness we did. My mom says that my grandfather told her that in life you need a good friend, a good lawyer, a good doctor, and a good mechanic. Well, 25 years after getting her first car, my mom found a good mechanic. It's not hard to believe it took that long. This place is all Yelp says it is and more! -

I have been going to Speedline for over two years and have nothing but fantastic things to say about them. Ron and Danny have always been super nice and helpful. Being a girl and knowing nothing about cars, I was very hesitant to go to anyone other than the dealer, but I was given their number by a friend and figured I'd give them a try, and I am so glad I did!!
The first time I went, I was planning to drive to New York and wanted to make sure everything was in tip top shape. They took a look at the car, and there were a couple things that they noticed needed tuning up. Ron said that if I was just going to be driving the car around the city that they would have waited on a few of them, but because I was taking a long trip I should get them fixed now so there would be no problems. I paid less than half than what I paid at the dealer for similar parts. Nice, honest, direct- thank you!!
Since then I have gone for everything from oil changes to brakes to replacing my tail light. Ah, my tail light. At first we thought it was just a bulb, so they replaced that several times, literally in minutes, but it kept going out so Ron ordered the necessary part, had it Fed Exed here, had it in in 5 minutes, and only charged me $25!!! What? I love these guys.
Whenever I call, they are always able to take my car right away, and it's usually done in incredibly reasonable time. There are a few coffee shops and a great breakfast place called Over Easy nearby on Damen, so waiting for the car means pancakes! I've had to get my car towed there, and I just called Ron and he organized everything for me. Really, these guys are so great. I cannot say enough good things about them.
Ron, you have a customer for life!! -

While crisscrossing from Midwest state to Midwest state, the Allen House Chicago's Honda logged over 236,000 glorious miles. Keeping our sexy Accord in top performance is a task in which we trust very few. Luckily the fellas over at Speedline know how to handle an aging lady with respect and dignity. The old girl needed new brakes, tires and major rehydration - all were completed successfully within budget.
Who would have thought that honest, friendly and clean auto mechanics existed outside of small town Iowa? If Speedline is good enough for our sweet ride, then they sure as hell are good enough for your load. -

Another great save by the mechanics at Speedline! I really appreciate them because they're instrumental in helping me keep my 2001 Pathfinder on the road a bit longer! Back in July, the truck was making some serious rattling noises (thank you Chicago potholes!)...and of course this started just when I got the dreaded emissions notice in the mail. Ron checked it out and found something hung up on the exhaust (I suppose if I crawled under the car, I might have found it myself). Anyhow, all is well and I happily motor on into the sunset. Did I mention how much I love these guys?

I called Speedline today to set up an appointment for an oil change after reading all the glowing reviews. I was quoted $35 for an oil change. When I got the bill, I was charged $50 for the oil change AND I was charged $2.99 for washer fluid AND another $12.50 for the oil change itself. My bill came ended up being $77.60. When I questioned why the price differential I was told it was due to the 0-20W required by my car - a 2011 Honda CR-V. While everyone was nice and the place clean, I will not go there again. I try to do business locally, but I feel I was overcharged. Sadly, the dealer charged less. Expensive lesson learned.
Additional: I called and spoke to the owner later in the day because I was still bothered by the cost. He was pleasant and willing to match the dealer's oil change cost. I very appreciated his efforts. Hence the rating upgrade and this extra note.Comment from Ron D. of A Speedline Tire & Auto Service 8/27/2011

I have had the good fortune growing up as the son of an auto body repair man. My dad taught me me a decent amount of knowledge of cars and how to fix what could possibly be wrong with them when things go awry. Unfortunately living in a 1 bedroom in Chicago doesn't allow me access to the tools I need to fix my car on my own. Knowing what I know, I'm always a bit skeptical when dealing with mechanics because as we all know that for every good apple there always tends to be a few rotten ones setting up shop.
I've brought my car into Speedline multiple times over the past few years with it needing a number of different things done as my vehicle is now 14 years old with 170k miles on it. From a standard oil change to replacing shocks to a complete tune up with a wiring overhaul, Speedline has done an incredible job on all of em'!
Ron & his crew are fantastic! Quick turn around time, exceptionally pleasant to work with/great customer service and great prices in addition to their top of the line work.
I will be taking my vehicle to Speedline for as long as I live in Chicago. -

I love this place. Once my mechanic cousin moved away, I really needed a reputable place that wouldn't give the special "Aw, don't you worry your pretty little head about that, little lady" treatment.
Speedline has always been honest, fast, cost-effective, and nice about their work. I got work on my brakes and engine done here, and now I come back for oil changes as well. -

I talked to Ron on the phone twice to confirm that they have my tire. However, when I went there to drop my car off, an employee behind the counter informs me that they had sold the tire to someone else, even after I had confirmed with them right before heading over.
Considering I had gone entirely out of my way and taken time off of work to go and drop my car off, I was quite upset to find out that I am entirely out of luck. I asked Ron if there was anything he could do for me now that I now had to take time off of work again; he refused and cited "miscommunication" as the culprit.
Hmm...2 phone calls, 2 affirmative responses. Miscommunication was never the issue. I told Ron that the problem is really mismanagement of his inventory. This proceeded in Ron flying entirely off the handle, accusing me of personally insulting him, and then kicking me out of the store! He refused to even do business with me in the future.
I called Ron back just to give him a second chance, straightly informing him I intend to write an appropriate yelp review about my experience. His words exactly: "THAT'S WHAT F***ING WOMEN AND CHILDREN DO! HIDE BEHIND A COMPUTER AND WRITE YELP REVIEWS! " After I hung up, he called me back. He barked, "I GOT YOUR NUMBER BUDDY," as if he's threatening me!
Bottom line, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I can't speak to the quality of the work they do, but their CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ABYSMAL, and that does NOT EVEN BEGIN to approach the threat to your safety and wellbeing! Ron is a potential psychopath that will keep your number in his phone and seek out personal vendettas. You've been warned!Comment from Ron D. of A Speedline Tire & Auto Service 11/28/2010

Usually, a trip to the auto repair shop is as far from a pleasant experience as you can imagine. At the very least, it's not typically something you look forward to.
Well I just picked up my car and I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Speedline.
Speedline is open until 6 pm on weeknights. So when I called at 5:54 pm on a Monday night to alert them that I was a brand new customer on my way to drop off my screeching car (no brakes or rotors left) without an appointment, I was shocked 1.) that they answered 2.) that they were friendly and 3.) that they said "come on by!"
I arrived (a few minutes after 6:00 p.m.) and they kindly explained to me that they would be closing shortly so my car would be looked at the next day. I said that was fine and they said they'd give me a ring in the morning.
I was shocked when I looked at my phone at 9 a.m. the next morning and already had two calls from the guys (they open at SEVEN). They quickly explained the damage (shot brakes and rotors), recommended some additional services (the oil change I was overdue for and new tires, which I'd never gotten on my five-year-old car). They quoted me a fee for the brake job that was $300 less than the dealership and $200 less than another local auto repair shop had the last time my brakes gave out. And they were able to find tires for my car that were only $88 a piece. I gave them the okay, and they said they'd have my car within hours.
By 3 pm, I had a voicemail saying my car was ready.
With new tires, new brakes, new rotors, and an oil change, I spent under $750. And they were very accommodating with my making payment arrangements.
I will never, ever, ever go to another auto shop in Chicago. Additionally, I've now recommended them to everyone in my family, who all live in the neighborhood. BEST EVER. -

After having a really crappy experience at a local car shop, I was not particularly excited to have to find a new place to have my car repaired. I put it off, but the 30k mark rolled around and I couldn't put it off any longer.
First of all, the employees are extremely friendly and welcoming, and they don't treat customers who aren't fluent in car jargon like total imbeciles; they speak politely, honestly, and informatively.
After I dropped off my car, I was called the next morning with information about what my car would need. Pablo, I believe his name is, honestly told me the priority services so I could mend my car within my budget. In the past I've been roped into all-or-nothing sorts of deals, so this was great. That afternoon I was called to be informed that my car was ready. When I picked it up, the employee was very friendly. He said he was shocked that my HondavFit wheels had yet to be stolen, given their popularity amongst thieves. He told me if I'd pick up the car locks from the dealership, he'd happily install them for free.
Now THAT is service. There's a reason why this place has the best reviews... they're the real deal. -

I've looked over the other reviews here, and I don't know what happened, but I did NOT have a 5 star experience at Speedline. I drove a few miles out of my way to get my car into Speedline because it was the highest rated shop in my area--and that was a huge mistake on my part.
My car needed several things--an oil change, a tune up, and to be winterized. I've moved to Chicago from Texas, and I know that my car isn't prepared for this winter.
Speedline estimated that I needed 800 DOLLARS worth of work! I was amazed--but I'm not car savvy, so I asked him what I HAD to do immediately. 300 dollars for the oil change and winterizing the car. I was positive that was too much, but I was thankful to have it done.
Two days later, my car started dying when I tried to start it. Desperate to get this figured out, I took my car to Rogers Park Auto at the suggestion of a friend--Rogers Park Auto said that the car desperately needed the tune up. So, I had them do it.
Speedline estimated the tune up at 200 dollars. Rogers Park Auto did it for 95. I don't know why Speedline estimated it so high, but they were wrong. I will NOT be returning to Speedline for any work.Comment from Ron D. of A Speedline Tire & Auto Service 10/6/2010

Preaching to the choir here, as they say, and wishing I could give Ron, his buddies and Speedline 5 1/2 stars. Last week I had front end issues just as I was preparing for a fairly long road trip. I came to Speedline because I had been here before to purchase tires. Ron gave me some options. We did the cheaper one first, which did not do the trick and would have resulted in a noisy 8-hour drive. When I got on the phone to tell him, he arranged to get me in at the end of the day, which I know must have been a special accommodation for him and his staff, got me out at closing time, so I could be on the road the next morning. Thanks, Ron, for fixing my ride, and making it all smooth and seamless. This is how bromances get started.

Found these guys through yelp and found all of the 5star reviews suspect. Really? A 5 star car shop? I had to try it.
Nearly 3 years later and they get it done every time. They work with me to get the necessary stuff done to keep my beat up ride running w/o making me feel like the unsavvy car-owner I am. They actively work their asses off on saving me time and money!
They're friendly, courteous and never want you to walk home in the rain. ;) I can't say enough good things about Speedline. -

I hate driving in the snow.
I hated the tires on my Mazda when I bought it.
I bought 4 new tires last year thinking they were snow tires, but come to find out that they weren't.
I wanted to buy a new car with AWD.
Then I found Speedline.
I had done some research on TireRack and had an idea of the tires I was looking for and headed over to Speedline. Ron looked at the tires I had on my car and told me that they were not snow tires and that they were actually horrible for the snow. eeek!! I told him how I was thinking about getting a new car, mainly because of my fear of driving in the snow, and he pretty much helped me make my decision to just get new tires instead. He was able to order me the Continental DWS (which were the tires I liked on TireRack) that same day. I went in the following morning and the tires were installed in less than an hour!
That following evening (on Christmas Eve), I was out and about celebrating a friend's bday and it snowed! I was a little nervous, but excited to see how well the tires would grip in the snow... I LOVE MY NEW CONTI TIRES!!!!!!! I actually enjoyed driving in the snow! Thanks Ron for your honest opinion and for your service. I will definitely come back to get my tires rotated like you suggested. :)
*I was going to give 4 stars at first only because I paid a little more than what Ron quoted me initially. But, after talking to a friend who said he always gets his tires at Discount Tires, I went on their website and looked up the cost of the same tires I have and I did pay less at Speedline! So you get 5 *! -

Everyone is here is always so nice, informative, and genuinely invested in getting your car back to you in tip top shape. Pricing is more than fair.

Always cool, always helpful. Really convenient hours and super fast service. Bonus, they are great about dumbing down the car talk for me and not laughing when I still don't get it. Or at least, they're polite enough to wait until I leave, which all I can really ask given my level of car-ignorance.

They are honest, fair and fast!
Just hit one of those monster Chicago potholes on the way back from work, which dented the hub cab on my front tire. I stopped in to see what they could do. They fixed it in about 10 mins. and it was FREE!
No Charge? Blew my mind. I felt super fortunate, especially since my paycheck is late again.

There is a reason these guys have a 5 star rating....it's because they are awesome! Obviously.
Anyway, I went here on the recommendation of my neighbors who have been taking their car to Speedline for a few years now. They have a near lemon that they are not willing to give up, and the guys at Speedline have been helping to keep their car running for minimal cost. I had to take my car in because I hit a pothole pretty bad and there was a tear in my tire. They gave me a new tire for half of what it would have cost elsewhere. When I brought my car in they didn't have my tire in stock, but they ordered it, it came in the next day, I brought my car in and was out in 20 minutes. And I was happy. Very friendly staff and some pretty cute guys out there working one the cars. Will definitely bring my car back when something goes wrong, though I hope that it isn't in the near future... -

UPDATE: Still at MAXIMUM star value.......
I brought my Jeep in this morning.... it's got a cancer of some sort.... blown gasket, needs a brake job up front, catalytic converter is messed up.... and instead of takin' my money and "fixing" my car, THE HONEST AND REPUTABLE mechanic told me he would rather see me selling this junker before the engine blew!
WHO DOES THAT? These guys do!! Seriously.
Not only did he not mislead me and suck my wallet dry, he told me to bring in any car I was thinking of buying, and let them check it out for me.
Women are notoriously pegged as victims immediately upon walking into any car shop..... but EVERY TIME I've taken my vehicle into this place I've been treated fairly and have received the best deal. I know. I've shopped around.

I love the service at Speedline. They were recommended to me by a friend, and I will recommend them to every Yelper on here. I've had two oil changes and a tire rotation done here on my Honda Civic and the price is very reasonable.
My car is always ready within an hour, even when I haven't made an appointment. You are always greeted with a smile and if you have questions they'll answer them without making you feel like an idiot, which is typical of many other car shops.
If something major ever goes wrong with my car, I would trust them to fix it well and at a fair price, without trying to scare me into services I don't need.
Love you Speedline! -

I waited a few months from service to write this review, as I would have felt quite the fool had I come on and raved about their service only to have our car fall apart like the Bluesmobile 3 days later.
Well, six months after having our transmission replaced at Speedline our car is avoiding Illinois Nazis as good as ever. The price we paid here was 25% less than we were quoted anywhere else, the turnaround was fast and on time, and everyone there was quite friendly. Would definitely recommend Speedline and will go back for any future work. -

With 3 days before I needed to use my car to transport some things and for a short trip, I was pretty much dreading the phone calls to make an appointment for a repair, as the barely audible noise coming from one of the wheels became suddenly unignorable (in your face anyone who thinks changes occur at a steady pace- i.e. merely quantitatively- rather than with sudden and profound quantity-to-quality breaks!) and required immediate attention.
So I called this place, and they were able to take my car as soon as I could drop it off. In fact, they actually finished the whole job within 24 hours. They also communicated with me in ways that were helpful and timely- no mean feat for the average car repair replace. The price charged for the repairs was, as far as I can tell, quite fair, and certainly within the quoted amount. Everyone was very friendly, and I can definitely see myself coming back here. -

Well, the dealer told my wife she needed new brakes to the tune of $230. I take it here and they say no new brakes needed, just need a cleaning/adjusting. Whole thing cost me way less and took 30 min. Don't bother going anywhere else.

There is a reason that Speedline has almost all 5 star ratings. And yes, they are one of those business that boasts a yelp sticker, but to be fair, their service was so good it necessitated a yelp, and without it, I'd have never even heard of them.
Before I start my review, let me just say that I've had nothing but trouble with mechanics. I'm not clueless about cars, but I am wholly dependent on them for repairs. I've had to argue costs at more than one "reputable" garage. So I've had to lower my standards to compensate for what makes a decent one. Speedline has single handedly restored my faith in the industry.
I brought in my (junker) car to Speedline after bringing elsewhere to see if I couldn't get a better deal. The garage by my apartment wanted $1200 to repair the power steering hoses, which is not only high, but almost half the cost of the car. So after consulting yelp, I checked with Speedline. The guys there said they could do the same repair for about $900, or they could patch up the current system for $90. That's less than 10% of a competitor's estimate. For those prices, my car would have to stop running on the highway, catch on fire, and then explode for me not to be amazed. And judging by the amount of multiple-repair customers on yelp, that's not going to happen. (But if it does, this will be updated). As it stands, if the caliber of service stays this good for this cheap, I'll be a customer so long as I own a car in the greater Chicago area.
Also the waiting room is pretty old school, but I probably spent a grand total of 60 seconds in there. -

*** Update****
So, I got another tire busted. Called Ronn up, and he got my car up and going....
Then... I got stuck at Downtown (in the middle of the night) because my dear battery went dead on me ( Thank GOD it wasn't my starter..). So again.. I called up Ronn .. got my car a brand new battery - it look me less than 20 minutes...
What can I say? Ronn gives the best service in town. :) I know if I have any mechanical issues, I can depent on him. Thanks Again Ronn!!1 Previous Review: Show all »

I'd like to start this review off by saying that this place is WAY out of my way, but I chose to go here anyways based on Yelp reviews, and I could absolutely not be happier. I'll continue to go out of my way to take my car to them when it needs work done.
I needed tires for my 01 Jeep. These tires aren't cheap to begin with, but Ron quoted me 150$ LESS than the next lowest quote that I got. I told him it was a done deal, and to order the tires.
He called me when I came in, and told me to drop my car off whenever it was convenient. Dropped off my car at 7:30am, danced around a ravine filled with water by the curb, watched Ron s hake his head and laugh at me, etc.
Anyways, dropped my car off, super nice, and, AND, get this:
They gave me a ride to the EL stop so I could get to work.
Ron asked me where I worked and I said in the loop and asked him the best way to get there from the shop. He said "we're going to take you to the EL stop."
THAT is fantastic customer service.
My car drives great now, and I will never again take my car ANYWHERE but Speedline.
It doesn't hurt that Ron is hot :) -

I came here after seeing all of the 5-star reviews here on Yelp.... Like come on, over 130 reviews and 99% are 5-stars.... something seemed "fishy."
But nope, I completely understand why Speedline deserves 5-stars. Amazing service, Very friendly. And they tell you no-nonsense, upfront pricing, and VERY affordable. I had a "Death Wobble" in my Jeep (yup, that's actually what it is called in the Jeeping world) and I had Car-X tell me that it would be about $271 for a part that was broken on the steering. Then I brought it here and they did a full inspection. Turns out the Jeep just needed a wheel balance because the wheels were soooooooo mondo-unbalanced. (Also, they told me that Car-X did not know what they were talking about).
Total Cost = $40. Amount of money saved = $230 (by coming here rather than Car-X).
I'm definitely going to rec to my friends and to all of you fellow Yelpers. 5-stars truly deserved from my first-time experience.
