I left my sole in Venice...
Okay, well really my husband stepped on the heels of my Birkenstocks this past January in Venice and jacked them up. I was pretty bummed because they've been worn in now for like 15 years, and he killed them. And I can't find that style of Birks anywhere.
I knew I needed to get them fixed, but got lazy and didn't really research where I could bring in for repair.
Enter one bright sunshiny day: Driving down Hennepin Ave, I see Shoe-A-New's awning stating that they're an authorized Birkenstock repair center. Perfect!!
Brought my shoes in, and they re-corked both heels for me. AND they were finished a week ahead of the time they quoted me.
They did do a good job, and they buffed them up a bit. So they look good.
$65.00 or so to re-cork. (Which is probably like half of what I bought them for 15 yrs ago.) I've never had Birks re-corked, so not sure if that's the going price or not. But it is what it is.
But just to give you a heads up, you pay up front for the service.
Service was friendly. -

Gotta say, my black dress shoes came back lookin great! They shined them and even used a special hardening wax to fix some tearing at the front of the sole. I was impressed because I was originally going to throw them away. Now they almost look brand new again. I'd definitely go back.
The price was reasonable too. $12. A lot cheaper than a completely new pair of shoes. -

Bad all around. You don't even see or speak to the person who will actually fix your shoe, the woman at the front I guess relays the message? Anyway, had a pair of sandals that needed new straps because they were too tight. Basically the shoe guy didn't pay attention to how the sandal was put together and broke a string that held some beading. Instead of re-attaching the beads, he left the string broken and put the beads on a SAFETY PIN!!!!! Are you joking? What am I supposed to do with that?
The workmanship of the straps was messy, uneven and one was tighter than the other... seemed like amateur work.
I'll never return, my sandals look awful. -

Dropped of my girlfriend's boots for new heels. Amazed at how fast they replaced them and how reasonably priced it was. Friendly and courteous business. I'd definitely go back if I needed shoe repair.

Over 6 years I have brought in 5 pairs of boots for all types of things : new heels, new heel caps, new soles, heel leveling and even (get this) boot widening...I am a small asian chica with (apparently) super fat calves. The guy was awesome and said, "hey - we do this ALL the time" so I didn't feel so....fat....calved.
They've worked on everything for me from Charles David to Via Spiga to Prada. The quality of the work is better than when I pulled the boot out of the original box; they've added years to the boots lives.
PLUS - they now have an adorable tiny lady behind the desk who's really great to work with.
I don't get these other poor reviews at all. I don't need my shoe fixer to be my bff. -

Bad service and over priced - but good quality work.

Welcome to the 19th Century! Incredibly slow, incredibly sloppy, and seemingly oblivious that it's not the only shoe repair around. It's the little shoe shop that time forgot!

Terrible service, overpriced, and my shoes looked horrible! They put tacks at the tips of my shoes instead of repair them! Who wants tacks at the bottom of their shoes for 30$?? I could have done that garbage myself!!

I dropped off a pair of shoes for new heel pads. Usually that's a quick repair and relatively inexpensive. It took this shop a month to get to them, and it was $34!!! Not only that but they put on on crooked and it's falling off after only 4 wears. I'm very disappointed and I don't plan on going back. I've heard they're great with major repairs, but apparently they can't be bothered with simple ones.
