After seeing five star ratings all across the board for this place, I had to come here to get my windows tinted for my Honda.
I got my rear half tinted 15% and it took about three hours. They have a nice lobby with wi-fi and a television.
A Shade Darker is a very professional business. I found a 10$ off coupon here on Yelp, and they honored it, so my tint job totaled $170. Pretty good deal, and the car looks great. Keeps my car cool, and looks snazzy as well.
Come to these guys for your tint. They know their stuff. -

Probably one of the best locations to have your car treated right. I've gotten several vehicles tinted here in the past and this staff really knows what they're doing. You can rest-at-ease knowing that your baby will be kept clean and taken care of.
I know this spot has changed over the years but I would still recommend A Shade Darker for all of your vehicles needs. -

I had the windows tinted on my car by A Shade Darker when I first bought it 3 years ago. They did an excellent job and the windows were still looking great, until I was in an accident three weeks ago and two of my windows were knocked out.
The body shop I took my car to, pretended like they knew what they were doing and put some cheap Walmart film on the replacement windows to make it match somewhat, but it looked terrible!
I drove all the way up to Santa Rosa from Pleasanton (East Bay) to have these guys do it the right way. I would definitely recommend this place if you want your car to look great and have it done the right way.

Quality, top-notch, and professional.
I'm really impressed with the work I had done here. After seeing all the positive reviews, I called and made an appointment. Luckily they had a "special" (how special? I don't know) going on to upgrade to a ceramic tint for $75 more. This seemed like a pretty dang good deal. I had all my windows tinted (including my windshield - street legal tint) and was really impressed with the results. They were even able to get the tint film to adhere to the dot matrix on my side windows. My rear windows weren't so lucky. I started getting a border where the film wouldn't adhere to the dot matrix. I started pressing a plastic putty knife to the film every morning for about a week and this has appeared to work, since it's been looking perfect for almost a year!
For a ceramic tint job, they gave me a really good price. What they charged me was the same as other local places were quoting me without tinting the windshield. I'm really surprised by the great work they did and especially for the price. -

I was referred to A Shade Darker by a friend and drove 40 miles to get my BMW tinted because I heard they were that good! I was not disappointed. Joe was awesome, professional and explained everything so clearly. His crew was able to tint all my windows within 2 hrs and I'm very happy with the result! Would recommend hands down.

I chose A Shade Darker after reading all the positive reviews on yelp. They tinted my back window and the rear door windows of my new car at a very reasonable price($170) and did it in the time frame they said they would. It's been a full 2 weeks now and my tint looks excellent.
Also, for anyone that was wondering about what illegal tint is, that's only when you tint the drivers and front passengers door windows. I didn't get these doors tinted myself but you can have the back windows tinted as dark as you like, just not the front doors. A good FYI for anyone that didn't know. -

I have had two Tint Jobs from Joey here and they are flawless. Great work done and never rushed or sloppy corners cut show how much better their work turns out than their competition.
They do tint for Dealerships and that qualification alone forces me to recommend them 100% of the time.
Also purchased a Cold Air Intake and had trouble-free install and great product performance! -

My dogs were over heated in the backseat of the car so I needed to get the windows tinted.
I asked for the darkest tints and was told I would get ticketed if I did that. So I went for legal and still don't regret that choice.
The est was true, no extra charges.
The shop was clean and organized.
My car never looked better and on the very hot days my dogs are cooler in the back.

Joe and his crew at A Shade Darker are awesome! I've had everything done from tint, paint protection, wheels, shocks, and the list goes on.

I had my car tinted here by recommendation of a friend. I couldn't be happier with the work done, or with the product used. They showed me what was legal, and were very upfront. Great place to get tint done, I have had 3 of my cars tinted here. Since I have seen no fading, no streaks, no nothing, the quality is great. Fast turn around times too. They do most of the dealerships factory tint jobs, so thats why I trust them.

They did a great job on my car. I love their speedy service. They even worked with my dealership, so I dropped the car off for routine maintenance, and then picked up the car from the dealership the same day with the windows tinted. All I had to do was make the appointment and tell them what I wanted them to do over the phone. 100% smooth and hassle free. That's a Big +. Great service. Great Product. I wouldn't recommend a shade darker. They then threw an additional $50 dollar fee for a strip of tint needed for my back window,otherwise there would be a gap... apparently. They tinted my front windows illegally and informed me it was completely legitemate. thanks A Shade Darker. Apparently the $300 I was bringing into their business was just too tempting to operate within legal limits and moral standards. I will not be returning, even for the removal. Who would let a place touch their car,after they showed such disregard for the customer in the first place

These guys are Excellent!!! Got the March Special and was done the same day. When I received the car back, I had hoped the tint would get darker after waiting for a few days but unfortunately it didn't. So Shade Darker was able to work with me to get the car re-tinted. A Shade Darker is the ONLY place you should ever get tinting done. They have done numerous vehicles for me and every job they have done has been perfect. I disagree with Miss T, I have been in there and heard them warn people about tinting certain windows. . .plus they have a display that shows what is street legal and offer a UV screen to keep out harmful rays while keeping you within the laws of the road. Straight forward, trustworthy, and great service is how I describe A Shade Darker. Thanks guys!
