I recently completed a very complicated rehab of a house I own jointly with my ex-wife. We were in the middle of a divorce, with us each moving in & out when we suffered a massive water loss from a frozen pipe. We lost all contents in the house and essentially had to clean & gut the entire interior.
I work in the insurance industry and there is no amount of direct experience you can have to take on yourself the complications involved in trying to remedy a significant casualty loss to your home or place of business.
Your first call in any circumstance like this should be to an experienced and reputable adjusting firm like Schoeneman. They are a family business and you will receive service like that of family. You can't expect everything to be easy in these situations, but I believe Schoeneman brings a very pragmatic and assertive approach to getting the insurance claims settled fairly and the repairs completed timely.
I ran into several roadblocks courtesy of banks and lawyers that put a lot of undue pressure on Schoeneman and myself in getting through this process. But I never once felt as though I was getting anything but 110% effort from everyone at the firm and I would never have been able to get through it without them.
Schoeneman did all of the repairs and I also had them complete several upgrades at my own cost. The speed and quality of the work was excellent.
